Very nice tattoo parlor. My daughter and I got a tat two weeks ago Lee did an amazing design on her forearm. Daniel did a nice one around my ankle but made a mistake. Artwork: 5 Lee is an excellent artist. He listens well, and provides honest feedback. He covered one of my poorly drawn tattoos and fixed another. I was going to have him do all of the rest of my work but... Customer Service: 3 They've changed the way they do business... Everyone is really nice, cordial, and great conversationalists. Previously, a customer would get an hourly rate for work that spanned a large part of the body. Lee would charge a larger fee for individual pieces. All of that makes total sense. Lee and I agreed that after he did my first two, on a piece by piece basis, he would do all of the rest on an hourly basis. He gave me a rate, I agreed to the rate, and he placed it in my "file". I recently went in to schedule my appointment, and to my dismay, he told me that they no longer do hourly rates. I thought, surely we had an agreement, and he would honor it. However, he told me that he would not, and issued me a price for one piece of what i was going to get, at a "discounted price". With the change in pricing structure, a similarly sized tattoo is almost two or three times as much as it would have been. I'm a firm believer in standing on price for service, when it's agreed upon. So, with 12-18 hours of work left, I'm now priced out. Overall: 4 If you want a great tattoo, without the associated talent risks, this is the place to go. I would caution and recommend calling ahead to make sure that things you've previously discussed are still valid. Though, I'm very disappointed in his decision, he does awesome work. Read Less

This is the only place I have and will only get tattooed in the Raleigh Durham area. The shop is really clean and the artists are very friendly helpful and professional. I went in and got my hand done by Daniel which was a peony such a solid dude he did everything he could for me to stay in my price point and work with me on what it is I wanted. I will be coming back here in the next couple of weeks this place is a hidden gem. Read Less

These guys are great! My Sister and I love our new tattoos. The place is clean. When I moved here from Germany, I wasn't really sure if I should wait for the next time I go back to Germany to get my next tattoo or if I would find someone here locally. I have multiple pieces but my experience was nothing compared to Red Leaf. Lee was professional and receptive to what I wanted. For my second tattoo, I wanted a portrait of my three dogs on my upper arm. I talked to several artists, but Lee made me feel comfortable with his ability from our first phone conversation, and his portfolio clearly shows his talent. When I went in for a consultation, he already had worked out the best way to approach this, and made me even more confident in his ability. Went in yesterday to get this portrait done, a six and a half hour session, and I am more than thrilled at... he level of realism he achieved in these portraits. The long session was very manageable, as Lee does have the light touch talked about in their reviews. He didn't offer the best price of all of the artists I talked to, but I don't believe anyone else locally would have achieved results this realistic. I am very happy with the final result, though obviously I still need to get through the healing process before I see the actual finished product, and Lee will be my artist of choice for all of the ink that I get in the future. Update, after nearly three weeks. This ink is amazing. Healed quickly and the ink held well. People are blown away with the realism, and many have asked for the artists name. I've been seeing Lee for 4 years now going back to when this place was Inkslingers before he had to change the name. Over that time I've had about 6+ tattoos (including 2 custom pieces) which pretty much cover my entire lower right leg. The work is fantastic and each tat has healed amazing. Lee is a great guy, very fair and will tell you if he can't do something straight up. The store is immaculately clean and I couldn't ask for a better experience.
