I went to Joe's for my nose piercing. Unfortunately I'm unhappy with the jewelry they used on my nose. In 3 days of getting it pierced the jewel fell off. I went back to get a new ring. Lucky they replaced it with no problem but two days later the jewel fell off again! Nobody wants to keep replacing a new ring on a healing wound! I can't say enough great things about my experience getting my tattoo yesterday. I walked in and did not have an appointment Brian was at the front desk and was very helpful in fitting me in with a bit of a wait because they did have appointments already booked. Brian worked with me with the type of lettering I wanted then Fabian helped me to make the design of my tattoo. I walked into this place to get my nose repierced a couple days ago with a smaller ring and I was extremely happy. I wish I had came here in the first place. As a 19 year old who had never got anything pierced I was hesitant to finally get my ears pierced. I decided I was going to and wanted to get it done at a real piecing place and not Clair's. It was a great decision. They were very professional and everything was clean and sterile. Brain pierced my ears and he made them so even and I barley felt a thing. I had my nose peirced before coming here and asked the peircer to help me switch out my nose jewelry. He did it so quickly and aggresively that my peircing began to bleed and developed a bump the next day. It never healed and I had to take the jewelry out and let the hole heal up. Update: Truly disappointed today. Been loyal customers at this location for many years and have referred others. Today I was given a bs excuse for a certificate that wasn't properly explained to me. The tone and attitude was demeaning (to be nice) and I was made to feel like I was trying to get one over on Brian. Definitely not in my character. In fact, the tat I wanted goes against all those intentions- the irony. What bothers me is that when you go somewhere that you feel c...omfortable so many times, you don't expect to be treated so poorly. In any case, as for knowing or not knowing if a certificate was used, I'm fairly sure you keep records of that- otherwise, the business side of operations needs to be looked at. Anyway, you live and learn. Future visitors, make sure you read everything and ask a million questions to make sure you know exactly what's up- and maybe get a time stamp and date on it. � --------------------------------------- Always an amazing experience. I was extremely disappointed with my last visit to Big Joes. Ive been a very loyal customer for years. I've gotten multiple piercings and bought jewelry in the past. Today I went to get my first tattoo. I was treated with so much disrespect by the tattoo artist that I chose to leave before getting the tattoo done. He placed the stencil on my body and it was crooked so I asked him to redo it. It was crooked another time and he became very exasperated and rude, openly stating his annoyance with the process and me. He was also rude to my friends who were very politely trying to help the situation. I decided to leave and he only exclaimed that he was "just frustrated" and never apologized. His name was FABIAN. DO NOT GET TATTOOED BY HIM. This is no way to treat a customer in general, especially someone who has never been tattooed before. Though I have had good experiences with this business in the past, this experience made me extremely uncomfortable and I felt very disrespected so I will not be giving them my business in the future and I do not recommend their tattoo services to anyone else. Great customer service. I have never been here for a tattoo, but all of my friends and I always come here for piercings. The last piercing that I got here was my nose. The male that did it was very friendly, clean and knowledgeable about the piercing. It made me feel very comfortable and safe. A lot of my friends have gotten belly button, tongue, lip and etc piercings done here. I had my tattoo done at Big Joe's in Yonkers in 2005. The artist sat down with me and patiently helped me draw out my idea until it was exactly what I wanted. I love the art of my tattoo.Only problem is years later, my tattoo still feels raised and bumpy, like it never healed properly. Another tattoo artist saw it somewhat recently and said "man, he beat the hell out of your skin, looks like he pressed too hard." It's my only tattoo so I don't know how my skin would react anywhere else (this is on my shoulder blade). I still love my tattoo and wouldn't change anything about it.A few years later, I had a nipple pieced at Big Joe's in Yonkers. They charged me $50. No complaints - it was professional, clean, healed well, no problems. The next year, I had the other nipple pierced at the Big Joe's in White Plains. They charged me $40. Same thing, just cheaper (also no complaints, healed fine, etc). Not sure why the Yonkers Big Joe's charged a little more - probably just because they could and I didn't know the difference. Great tattoo shop. Everyone seems very friendly here. I went to check out 2 other tattoo shops before going to Big Joes & the people in both places seemed so blah & unfriendly. Both me & my husband needed custom work done & Dennis did a great job with the drawing. My husband already had his done (black/gray Yankees  tattoo in picture) & it came out really nice. I'll update after I get mine done this week with a before & after since mine is a cover-up.UPDATE: I got my tattoo & I love it! Dennis was very nice & does great work! I uploaded a picture of the before, outline & the after side by side...its the one that has the fairy on the moon as the before and the blue & black flower as the after.
