After making an appointment with TJ I only had to wait about a week for my appointment with Taka. What was nice was that once I mentioned I wanted lettering, TJ already had me scheduled with Taka, which is cool because they're all aware of who is best for each tattoo. The day of my tattoo we were in the middle of a snow storm and I had actually received a text from Taka making sure I was still coming, but after that I had asked if I could come in earlier and was able to come in a lot earlier for my tattoo which was really nice and accommodating. When you walk in the shop you are greeted with incense and calm music which was a lovely and calming touch. Once I got there my tattoo was already sketched up and I was asked about sizing and all of that. Once the stencil was on, Taka was unsure if it looked perfect so he  got second options until finalizing the placement. This patience and care for the perfect tattoo really made a difference in the experience. Once we started, Taka said he would do one line for me to feel the pain and if I ever wanted to stop to let him know. After having a not so good pain experience on my first tattoo with a very rude artist at a different shop, this all really made a difference. The tattoo was over really quickly and came out amazing. I was assured that if anything was wrong just to call and come in whenever- another great touch. I loved receiving the cute little care package after and really felt cared about at the shop! I got my tattoo done by taka He was really nice and down-to-earth it was about a month wait due to my availability But it was so worth it he did a mandala design which starts at the top of my shoulder blade to mid arm when I got there he already had a drawn up he let me decide what size I preferred he had you a check over again and make sure it's everything I wanted everyone was shocked that it took only about 2 1/2 hours to get done you can tell that they work individually in the shop but also work as a team and  look out for each other. Other tattoo artist came by complimented on his work and talk to me as well they were very friendly the price was really good even when I asked for an estimate he made sure that I didn't go over my budget that I had in mind. Today I got my first tattoo ever.. From the second I walked into the shop, as a walk in, I loved the atmosphere. It felt comfortable and like I was walking into a friends house. Tyler was the artist I was with and he was amazing from the start. He listened to what I had to say but was also honest and helpful in fulfilling what I wanted. I went in today(sunday) and was promptly helped by the awesome manager. She took a look at what I wanted to get done and hooked me up with an artist that was available, Geddes. He was great! We Took a look at the reference photos I brought in and talked about how I wanted some elements of each incorporated in the design. He sketched the perfect (and original) image for me, an intricate little locket that I wanted. Then we got started: he was gentle both with the needle and the wipeing, which I really appreciate, that wipe can really get you man. let me tell you I love the result!! It's beautifully shaded, and all the lines are super solid. I've gotten tattoos before where at first glance everything is fine but then you really look at it and it's not symmetrical or somethin, but this is really perfect! My image has a bunch of little circles right next to each other and they all look perfectly round and symmetrical. The concentric circles are evenly spaced so that there is the same thickness going all the way around. I'm super impressed by the quality of the service. You can really tell Geddes is super experienced and a professional. Upon finishing we came up with a price we were both comfortable with and he made sure to tell me that if it needed to be touched up after the healing process to let him know. Everyone was super lovely at this shop and I would really recommend you check them out! I'll leave some tips of some of the things that I noticed in case you are hoping to get something done here:- call in advance if you are a walk in to see if there are still spots available for walk-ins. While I was there (abt 3 hours on Sunday) there must have been 5 people who came in as walk ins and had to schedule appointments since the artists were busy for the rest of the day. Granted they only have a 5 hour workday on Sunday, so spots fill up quickly, but I would still call just to make sure. - from what I could tell, there is one large room where everyone gets tattooed in, not separate rooms. I did see, however, that there was a room divider up when I first walked in so that you could not seenthe person getting tattooed behind it, but I could still hear everything going on. It didn't bother me at all, but I could see it being an issue for people who need more privacy. Read Less

He completely brought my tattoo back to life while maintaining the integrity of the original tattoo design. I am going back in March to have him add his own mandala design around the luna moth. This tattoo shop is nothing short of amazing and completely professional. I had been thinking about getting a lot of different tattoos for a while and decided that getting a small one to start off would be the best idea. So I started looking around to find the best tattoo shops because anything going on my body forever has to be perfect. I looked into the infamous Bang Bang shop and honestly I felt that $300 an hour was a little ridiculous for something that would take five minutes, ten at most. So I decided that maybe it wasn't my time because every shop by me looks mediocre and the good ones are pretty pricey.A couple months later my boyfriend stumbles upon this tattoo shop and we see how amazing their work is. I felt like this was a hidden gem and I would definitely have to go here one day. So after eating at Cracker Barrel one day I asked my boyfriend if he wanted to be spontaneous and get a tattoo since the shop is only ten minutes away. He said yeah and we were on our way.We walked in and were greeted by a nice girl (Nicole I think) she told us that normally they are good with walk ins but today they were short on staff and to come back later if we wanted. I wasn't angry because it's a completely normal situation so I explained that we don't live close and we can just come back another time. She told us that Marcel would be able to take us on Thursday April 7th. Perfect! Asked us what we wanted, gave us a rough estimate on price and took a deposit. So far so good.The day before our appointment we get a call saying that something came up with Marcel and if we wanted, Diego can take us at 10:00am instead of 12pm. We said sure and that actually worked better with our schedule. We looked up Diego's work and knew that we were in good hands. We came in at 10:00am and Diego and another guy was there, I didn't happen to get his name I'm assuming he was an apprentice. He was super nice and helped pass the time by while I waited for my boyfriend to get tattooed. Diego knew exactly what my boyfriend wanted and had a sketch drawn really quick. It looked better than what we imagined. He sketched up a great domino. I got to watch the whole process and Diego did an awesome job. He made it look so effortless. I felt confident to get my tattoo.My boyfriend got the tattoo on his ankle and he said it hurt like 6/10 but not because of Diego, the placement is just a tough spot. The big reveal and I was so happy with how his tattoo came out and so was he. I was up next Diego asked what font I wanted and I had to make sure the spelling was correct. He basically made my own font for me, a combination of a picture I showed him, a computer generated font and his own twist. It was the best font ever in my opinion, it was exactly what I wanted. So we got to work. It took no more than 5 minutes he made sure to be fast because he saw I was taking it a little harder compared to my boyfriend. He kept asking if I was okay and gave me advice to get up slow so there were no accidents. He made me feel so comfortable and my first tattoo was a success. My tattoo hurt more towards the last few letters, the ribs is a rough place. I checked the final product and was ecstatic. They told us the healing process and we were on our way. Upon getting home I was even happier with my results and so was my boyfriend. We also discovered after we went home that Diego is the owner and I felt pretty special after finding that out. All and all I spent $80 on mine and the domino was $120. Completely worth it and I will be going back for all my future endeavors. Read Less

Any time I have gone anywhere else to get tattooed I have had to come back to this place and have it fixed. Except once. Do not stray from a good thing. I've followed Shish since I was 18, when he was in Newburgh. I needed a large cover up and it was an entirely black tattoo. Shish who has done my feet, legs, arms, back etc, recommend I see Tyler for this cover up. I couldn't thank Shish enough for the recommendation. This place is the BEST for tattoos. If you're going to go to Walden or something you're stupid and you're just going to end up having Shish, Diego or Tyler fix it. Just the best. All great artists I love all their work even though Diego is the only one I get tattooed by. I have followed him from several other shops but the vibes here are the best. All the guys are very friendly and accommodating.  Have four tattoos from Diego and each one has been more amazing than the last. My most recent of the Lion of Judah is a masterpiece.  You take him an idea and he draws it up. Then he puts an outline and you think it's going to look pretty cool. Then he starts coloring and you think "wow this is really looking even better than I thought!" Mike Shishmanian is a man of many talents and can take on any idea you bring him. I gave him a very broad concept for a large arm piece, a bit unsure of how exactly I wanted it, and he discussed with me what he thought would be the most effective way to create it. At the end, he designed the perfect tattoo - it was love at first sight!! I was blown away by what he created from the materials I showed him.
