He said he was free so i rode in over there talk about what i wanted to get and i kept it very simple. He was very professional made sure i was comfortable and he went to work. I went thier to get my nose pierced and let me tell you it wasn’t a pleasant experience. First of all the nose ring was to small and to easy to come out so I’m cleaning the inside of my nose and my nail easily flicks it out I go to the shop to put it back in they telling me they can’t put it back in I have to wait for it to heal I’m really an unhappy customer because the ring was way to small and to easy to come out know I’m stuck with a scar on my face don’t get your piercing thier, 😤😔😤 Read Less

I've been here twice. the first time i got was done by a woman, in the store it looked great and as it healed lines were not straight and parts were lighter than others but no problem. i went back for a small tattoo which was done by a man who seemed to be in a rush, lines are completely off, some lines are a lot thicker than others and the overall tattoo so much thicker than what i had showed him. im very disappointed and will not be going back. Pleasent experience! I walked in there couple of times. Ralph greeted with a smile and it was then I decided I want a tattoo. For anyone who is afraid of getting one but dyeing to have it should go here. He even helped me decide on what I want. They are so very professional. Ralph got done with mine in 20 mins. Gave tips on after care and even said I can call him if needed! Absolutely the best place to get any tattoo. Very creative choices. Always busy. I've been to other places but didn't seem hygienic. Walked in and left my name and number. Was told that I would be called back within two hours, as one of the artists would be free by then. Didn't receive a call back for 3 hours, at which point I decided to call up, and was told that the arrival of other 'walk-ins' meant that they were full for the rest of the night. They clearly forgot about me and took on other customers instead. With that kind of carelessness towards customers, I would not recommend using skin deep. Go and get tatted somewhere where they care enough about customers to keep their word and call them back. Read Less

I went to Skin Deep in Uniondale years and years ago for my first tattoo. It was done by Bob and I was super happy with it. Fast forward about 4 years and I decided to go back. BIG mistake; one I am still paying for to this day. I was his last tattoo appointment of the day, so no others were in there except for me, my mom, and a couple of his people. A few minutes into my tattoo and he cracks open a beer (a Heineken to be exact, I'll never forget this day)... Me and my mom look at each other in shock but don't say anything until the second one (mistake) My guess would be he had more than beers before I showed up because he became absolutely irate when I asked him a question about something in my tattoo. "Don't tell me how to do my job! etc etc" We thought he was joking and were mortified when we realized he wasn't. We honestly couldn't believe what was happening. This guy has a needle to my arm, tattooing something I don't like, while he's screaming at me and at this point I just want to cry. The other people (who I believe were his wife and and a friend maybe? or another artist?) disappeared to the back room while this was transpiring (I would have too because 'awkward' doesn't begin to describe it.)  He refused to tattoo me anymore and I had to get it fixed by another artist....twice. (WHY THE FUCK DID I PAY THIS GUY!? I just wanted to get the HELL out of there) Unfortunately, it was too far gone to be fixed because the lines he did were way too black and thick despite me telling him I wanted a bloodline. So here I am, A chick with what looks like a sailor tattoo of an artichoke instead of a lotus flower. I wound up having to get 5 later treatments on it before I covered it up AGAIN and i'm not even satisfied with it yet, almost 6 years later. Yes I am writing a review 6 years later because this isn't something that just goes away. It is a burden I deal with everyday. Over the years I have met a few people who have had or know someone who has had a very similar experience with Bob. One of these people said Bob even acknowledged his mistake and paid for laser treatments. I called the shop on a whim and explained my situation. It being years later, I wasn't expecting much, and of course, they said they were extremely surprised to hear this and have never had issues with him before. (lies) I am glad I am finally in the process of covering it but my God what a fuckin nightmare. Avoid this artist at all costs because you never know if you'll get him on a good day or a day when he'll fly into a rage at the smallest question or concern with what's going on YOUR body forever.. I really don't know how else to say this but Skin Deep in Uniondale is the best Tattoo place in New York. Clean, friendly, respectable, and let me not forget, the best tattoo artists I've seen. Their work is incredible. The two tattoo artists I've used are great! I walked in to Skin Deep about 6 months ago and was greeted by Ralph who welcomed me with open arms, mind you, I've never met or was recommended to him. I explained that I wanted all my kids name across my chest but didn't have an idea how I wanted it. He creatively made a rough sketch right on my chest and I loved it! Using his artistic skills, he made it look so amazing. A few months later I went back to Skin Deep to speak with Ralph in regards of a portrait I wanted of my wife. He immediately without hesitation recommended me to Bob. Any other tattoo artist I feel would of tried doing it themselves but he explained to me how Bob is the expert with portraits. He introduced me to Bob who also treated me like family. I explained to Bob what is it I wanted and would like to have it done as soon as he was available. Bob was willing to take on the task but only to his availability which is a long wait (but WELL WORTH THE WAIT).  Two weeks later he called me that he just had a cancellation and I jumped on the opportunity. I brought him a picture of my wife and explained to him to just be creative. He sat me down, made me feel comfortable and went right to work. When he finished, all I can is THANK YOU BOB! Amazing, realistic and so detailed! His work is by far one of the best I've seen. If you decide on a portrait or any type of tattoo, I highly recommend going to Skin Deep. You will not regret it!
