All of these negative reviews are nonsense. I have over 10 tattoos from all kinds of different artists && piercings from all kinda of different artists. I just moved to Syracuse, NY && got my septum done by their extremely talented piercing staff. She was quick, friendly and professional. The piercing did not hurt at all! On top of that, I asked one of their tattoo artists in passing what his opinion of a cover up for one of my tats && he was kind, gave me an honest answer and was super welcoming. If I had the money- I would have told him to do it now. This tattoo shop is one of the only shops that has a total welcoming attitude. I've been to so many shops with know it all attitudes that treat their customers like they aren't educated on ink and piercings. My daughter got her septum pierced by Amanda. Before they started, my daughter discussed her skin sensitivities with her, and explained she could only have titanium for initial jewelry. The piercing was placed so low, that it was basically through skin bridge between her nostrils. Nowhere even CLOSE to the sweet spot. She used EXTERNALLY threaded shit quality steel jewelry, which any halfway decent piercer knows has nickel in it and shouldn't be used on someone with skin issues. I took my daughter to my piercer who actually knows what he is doing and he confirmed the placement was way too low. We abandoned the piercing and had it redone in the right spot with a titanium CBR. Amanda is extremely unqualified is actually putting clients at risk with such poor placement. This woman has NO business piercing ANYONE. Read Less

The last piercing I got was when I was 10 years old, and it immediately got infected due to my severe allergy to nickel and brass. I called ahead to see if getting a piercing was even an option due to my allergy, and the woman and man I spoke to on the phone could have not been nicer. They searched to see if there was anything I could use, and they found something suitable for me. I'm extremely appreciative of that. When I arrived, Amanda took my friend and I back for the piercing. She was extremely kind, informed, and made me feel comfortable enough to ask questions. My little sister and I went in today to get our nose pierced. We were both extremely nervous and excited. The piercer (Amanda I think) was absolutely amazing! She talked us through what was going to happen and made it a smooth process and made sure we were both ok before we left. She also reopened mg belly button ring hole! Would definitely recommend them. I was extremely impressed with this shop. I called for a walk in for a memorial tattoo for my grandmother and they had a cancellation and fit me in and Rob did the work and did an amazing job even let me listen to the music I wanted. Love this place. As a local, this is the spot if you need something quick. Although my piercer is no longer here *tears*, this place is still reliable and clean. I've had over 6 piercings from Angry Banana and 10+ years later they're all going strong. The only issue I ever had was getting a keloid on my nose - I ended up taking it out and having the other side pierced. But this is an issue with my body and not the piercer/piercing. Great prices. Have no hesitation in going here - I've since moved to New York City and have been to multiple tattoo/piercing establishments down here. Angry Banana is at LEAST on par with them and continues to uphold their standards. Great people, too - as long as you're not a dick. Also, if you walk in without an appointment and you're surprised you have to wait any amount of time - do everyone a favor and just go home. Read Less

Angry banana is amazing. I had Janell as my piercer and she was super friendly, very well versed in her field and made me feel calm and relaxed before my piercing. The waiting room and the piercing room were both very clean. I was more than thrilled with their prices as they are probably some of the best in Syracuse. I had previously had a tattoo done here by Brian who did an amazing job. My 17 year old daughter want some body piercings for her birthday so brought her here because no place else would meet my standards. Janelle was amazing! She explained everything to my daughter and she had very little to no pain. Janelle did an amazing job on my daughter's septum, medusa, and navel piercings. Rob has been working on me for a couple years now. Least pretentious dude I've ever had as an artist. The work comes from conversation. I've always brought ideas and examples and he's made it our collaboration. I'm moving and I'll say this now that we've completed a 2 year project... He doesn't charge enough for the quality that you get from him. I'm posting pics of just the work he's done on me. Get it scheduled early. I have gotten two piercings here (tragus and belly button). My belly button came out perfectly. However, my tragus is butchered. It was pierced at an upwards diagonal angle, which ruined my cartilage. Also, I went to have my jewelry changed after 4 months, as the piercing was healed. The woman with the glasses and curly hair jammed a bar into the hole, and even though it didn't fit she kept wiggling it in my ear. This scraped the whole inside of the piercing hole and caused my ear to swell up insanely large. A few days later, an extremely large cyst formed on the front of the piercing, right by the hole. AWFUL. I will never ever go here EVER AGAIN. Read Less

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Very unprofessional atmosphere. I was made to wait an hour only to be told never mind, he was going to take another client instead. Then I rescheduled for the following day and got a phone call less than an hour before my appointment saying it was his day off and he had things to do instead. Just not a good way to run a business. Tattoos are expensive (not to mention permanent) so you're better off investing your time and money somewhere they actually care about the clients and the work they are putting on your body. Don't go here when there are many other places who will give you your money's worth. Read Less
