I got two tattoos from Brian that are close enough together to be considered a half sleeve. I have a few other tattoos and I knew what I was looking for when I went in. First time I walked in to discuss my ideas with him, I didn't feel like I was talking to a tattoo artist. I felt like I was talking to a business owner who just so happened to sling ink as his trade. He was very professional and friendly. When I went in to get the outline done, he recommended a few minor changes that he felt would make both tattoos stand out a bit more and seem less cluttered. He never said "I won't do that" or "That's dumb", like artists I've encountered in the past in expensive Manhattan shops have said. He would recommend a minor change by saying something like "It would look better if I did it like this, and here's why I feel that way" and explain why, in detail. He works very fast, faster than any artist I've ever had tattoo me. I was shocked at how fast he was working, but I wasn't concerned about the quality. He's flat out the best artist I've ever had work on me. He just puts his nose to the grindstone and is very work-manly about his business. If you want to chat, sure, he'll chat, but he can also work in silence too. Tattoos I'd gotten elsewhere hurt like hell, and I just thought that tattoos were supposed to hurt a lot. I said something to Brian about how gentle his touch was, and he explained that he doesn't need to jackhammer someone to get a tattoo to look good and stay bright for years to come. When talking about the aftercare instructions, it was kind of like talking to a medical professional. He really knows his stuff in that regard, which is refreshing. A lot of other artists will say "Don't pick the scabs, put lotion on it, it's all good." Brian knew the ins and outs of the healing process on different parts of the body. Like it says on the sign, best work, bright colors. They're both pretty colorful tattoos, and the colors really pop. As far as the quality of the work goes, I get compliments on them all the time. I'm sad that winter is coming and t-shirt weather is over, I really like having two amazing pieces that get a lot of compliments. I got these two for my mother, who passed away from cancer, and he was very respectful of that. The first thing he said when I told him that she had passed was "Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that." I haven't gotten anything from the other artist in the shop, Drew. But I saw some of the sketches she was doing for customers and they were amazing. I stopped by one day to say hi to Brian, and Drew was working on a chest piece on a guy that looked great. The price was right on the money. It was about half the price of what a lot of the Manhattan shops had quoted me. While I was there, a few people stopped in to say hi, which I didn't think was too strange. After all, he's a small business owner, and it's just him and one other artist. And then I realized why people kept stopping in to say hi, it's because he's a very friendly guy. I'm glad I took the time to get to know him. I'm glad to call him a friend. If I'm walking past his shop and I see that he's in, I always make it a point to at least poke my head in and say hi. I recommend people to go to him all the time, I'm that impressed with his work. Best work, bright colors is right! He should add "best prices in the city and friendliest tattoo artist you'll ever meet". Read Less
