I just got my first tattoo. Not a big deal for most but I'm 60 years old. My wife and two daughters have gotten tattoos here and said i must too. Chris did an awesome job! I love my tat. This polar is clean and professional. I love that the receptionist took time to wipe down the door knobs. All areas were covered with a sterile field. Walked in to Ron and Dave's the Saturday of memorial weekend didn't seem too busy however they had a waiting list. The receptionist gave us the option to leave a deposit to hold a time slot or sit in the shop and wait for two hours to be next. We opted for the deposit, We still ended up waiting an hour or so after our scheduled times but I get it can't really predict when tattoos will be done. they were pretty busy which is obviously a good testament to their work. Anyways, Eddie did my tattoo, the healing process has only begun but I really love what he did, I'm pretty sure I talked his ear off and he wasn't a d*ck about it so that's a win in my book. Back to the point, the shop was clean, staff was nice, work was exceptional. Only downside is they're a cash only shop, there is an atm around the corner but the machine ran out of money when we were there. I can definitely see myself coming back. Read Less

A friend of mine recommended Ron and Dave's after he had a botched job from another tattoo shop and was in search of someone to fix the tattoo on his wrist. Dave did amazing job redoing the tattoo and it came out even better than originally anticipated. My brother has a full sleeve courtesy of Dave as well, and every piece is unique; this is what this shop prides themselves on. They love to do unique work, (new ideas) is what they welcome. Working with them is easy and Dave is very quick to nail down what you want. I saw him do a portrait of a child this past weekend and it looked like a real photograph; the detail was so so intricate. I myself have a half sleeve that started with a cover up from when I was a teenager; the job Dave did was flawless. I have also had 2 other tattoos that were done by Kevin Craig, and his work is on par with Dave . Honesty, you can't go wrong with this shop, or any of its artist. I can't recommend this shop enough. I went in for a consult with owner/artist Dave Lopez and immediately knew that i wanted him to do some work on me. He was able to take an idea that i had in my mind and translate it PERFECTLY onto my skin. I have a lot of tattoos and Dave's is without a doubt my favorite. I've been tattooed by Ron, Dave and Chris over the course of the last 25 years. Each are incredible artists as well as really good guys. They love what they do and it's obvious when you see the end result. Dave is doing a back piece on me now and I was blown away with how he adapted the image I gave him to fit my body. After searching online for a good local spot for a nose piercing, I was lucky to find Ron & Dave's.  I walked in and was greeted by Dave Lopez who was nice and professional. The atmosphere was chill with good music and customers waiting for tattoos. I filled out a form and was directed to a chair where he explained what to expect.  I told him the size nose ring I was interested in and he picked out the perfect one.  After only a few minutes, I was all done!  Quick and painless! What a wonderful experience! Now I waited over a month to write this review to see how it has healed and it is healing wonderfully, no complications at all!  Everyone loves it and I've told everyone who wants one to come here.  After telling some people where I went, they were like "yeah, I know those guys, they're great, got some ink from them too!"  I showed Dave a tattoo I had on my arm as well and explained to him how I'd like to come back when summer is over and add onto it and he had some great ideas.  I'm looking forward to returning and highly recommend Dave Lopez of Ron & Dave's Tattooing! Was at the shop today with my girlfriend today , and while she was getting her tattoo done , another young woman came in and was very upset , because she had just came from another Tattoo Parlor , 1/2 tattooed , and said she had to run out of the other Parlor because the guy doing some creepy things to her . I am really amazed the way that Dave and Guy handled this situation with this poor kid , and made her feel comfortable and safe that she was there.. While Guy finished an excellent tattoo on my girlfriend , Dave finished the work on the other girl . We've been to the shop before and admire the work they do , but today was different.. GREAT PLACE , GREAT PEOPLE. GREAT TATTOO'S. CLEAN , NEAT and FRIENDLY. Try the other shops on the island and see the attitude they have. It's like their doing you a favor. They make you feel like your bothering them. You are going to get needles drawing in your skin the last thing you need is the Staten Island attitude. You will never get the attitude here. They will go out of their way to help you choose what you want and draw something up with no pressure on you. They are priced very well. No hourly bologna. We went to many shops and they ranged from 150 -250 an hour and couldn't even tell you how many hours the piece would take even after you showed them what you wanted. Really? I can't live with 4-7 hours at 200 an hour. If you don't how long the piece will take and how much it will cost after tattooing for years it's time to change professions. I usually go to island tattoo, until I drove by and saw how they closed down. I needed my piercing jewelry changed ASAP. So I stopped by here since it was close to my house. Eight of my tattoos were done by Dave at Ron & Dave's and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Dave does impeccable work and while I haven't had any of my tattoos done by Guy - I've seen the work he does and it's equally amazing. The shop is beautiful with a friendly and inviting atmosphere and they offer all kinds of designs from traditional to Japanese influenced, to anything you can think of. The shop is always clean and they do their best to make customers comfortable and work with them with the ideas they have in their head. But honestly, they do remarkable work - they're extremely well known in Staten Island so if you live out here or you're planning a trip, definitely make it a priority to stop in and get some work done. Just had a tattoo done here by Guy of an old world map, just above my elbow. Prior to going to Ron and Daves another artist had said my tattoo was impossible and no one could do it. I was comfortable from the second I walked in and Guy took  his time finding the right image to create my piece while offering advice as to what to get and what to steer clear of. I went here about a year ago, they stayed open late just to do my tattoo, drew it up so fast and perfect just how I wanted it (lettering on my foot) the guy was quick and pro which I appreciate because foot tattoos are no joke, and the lines are perfect and clean and the entire thing from start to finish (paperwork, stencil, tattoo, bandage, money) took like 30 minutes out the door the guys were cool and funny and hot and quick and very professional.
