So ultimately I ended up not getting any work done which was not what I planned, but I am a gal who accepts when things aren't meant to be: "Que sera, sera". I must say that the first time I went to Ink Couture the place is gorgeous, well-lit, clean (everything in their shines and sparkles), comfortable indoor temperature, well designed with comfy couches to sit on in the waiting area while you check out their merchandise. Plus their signature motorcycle  sits indoors which adds to its originality. Real top-notch place unlike most tattoo places that are dark, gothic and dismal. They even send you confirmation text messages reminding of your appointments and even if you want to confirm it! This place was a superb recommendation from my colleague. Anywho, upon even entering the neighborhood, which I am not from, I felt literally like the elephant that entered the room, for the obvious reason of being the only Nubian in the place. I was definitely "not in Kansas anymore."HOWEVER, I must commend Mr. Russo for his supreme professionalism and willingness to do business. As I walked in, he shook my hand, introducing himself, and taking me to get my consultation. (I originally thought I was going to meet my requested artist which was Drew but I guess speaking with the owner is the way they do things there, which made sense). He sat, did research on the computer with me to help me with a design and gave me a quote. Also, due to the fact that I am a NYC DOE employee I was entitled to a discount. What? Cool! So during the consultation, he let me know how long the tat should take and that his artist could bang it out in one sitting, 5 hours max. I told him that I would need to think about it and thanked him for his time. He smiled shook my hand again, and said "Don't go anywhere else for a tattoo. We have quality here." True indeed. I checked out Drew's online work before coming through so I knew what he said was true. Plus I saw the work done on my co-worker which led me to there in the first place. Fast forward 5 to August, I got the money together came back, met with a manager this time to who was very professional, friendly, maintained eye-contact with me and made me feel comfortable. (Now here's why my rating was a 4 and not a 5) After my consultation with him I got a whole different price quote and time factor. I was given double the price first mentioned and double the time to do the tattoo. I was told it was "realism and realism takes more time because it has more detail therefore more sessions." Wow! And my original design from the first visit was longer in length than this one . I had reduced it by a couple of inches. I hadn't come with double the money nor did I want to spend that much on a tattoo. So I thanked the manager for his time, and went on my merry way. I guess the tat wasn't meant to be and it is really cosmetic more than anything. Plus my husband got his wish of his wife coming back home with unmarked skin. But that's my story. Nevertheless. I'm leaving this review after my 4th tattoo at this shop. My first one I went in with an idea and the artist completely changed it. I don't know why he wouldn't do what I wanted but it came out okay so I was fine. Then on the 2nd and 3rd a different artist wouldn't do what i asked saying it wouldn't fit and changed it. Why I came in this last time I don't know? Again he changed it and when I asked about fixing up the other one he told me no. I know I should have spoken up and I am solely responsible for the decision but I don't want to go to a place where my thoughts are ignored. Got this piece done today by Seven and it's better than the original idea I had of just the wolf.  Seven gave his honest and professional opinion on what would work and what wouldn't and ended up helping me create an image that is just phenomenal and original. He was fairly quick while taking the time he needed to perfect the piece.  This was my first tattoo and if I choose to do another one I now would not trust anyone else to work on me although I am confident that the other artists at IC are just as good! I've been meaning to review this place since I got my tattoo this past August. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon because I basically woke up that morning and decided I wanted another tattoo. I had an idea in mind (in memory of my Dad) and hoped I could get in without an appointment. First impressions: This place is immaculate. Definitely not a dingy, creepy tattoo parlor. The front desk staff was very welcoming. They were able to accommodate me for an appointment later that day. Done! I was fortunate enough to book an appointment with L.A Ink's Amy Nicoletto. She sat with me and I showed her some pics of ideas I had for my tattoo. She got me and drew a stencil of exactly what I wanted (first try). I knew I had made the right decision. The tattoo was small and on the nape of my neck. It took about an hour. She continued to make conversation and check in during the process make sure I was OK. I've been following them for quite sometime on Facebook and pass their shop everyday and I have been wanting a nose piercing for a while now. I finally decided it was time and went in today for my piercing. The place is extremely clean, welcoming and the staff is extremely friendly. They know their stuff. I visited many shops in the NJ/NY area looking for the right one to get my first tattoo done. I can say not only do they have the nicest shop but the Russo family really makes every single person feel important. I am able to call or show up and go over designs and get ideas and they always go above and beyond. Every artist there has their own strengths and they even fly in guest artists which gives them a leg up on the competition. Boyfriend went in to see about one of the artists fixing his horror sleeve, waited for 20 mins and once he spoke to the artist he said "I would not touch that with someone else's tattoo machine" I would not recommend this shop to anyone, very poor costumer service. Extremely pleased with my experience... I've been shopping around for a new tattoo shop and artist. Since I've been following Ink Couture on social media (plus they give city worker discounts!), I figured I'd give them a try- and I'm glad I did. First and foremost, shop is very clean and staff was very professional-huge plus! The owner was outside and greeted me before I hit the front door- very friendly and welcomed me. I had been there a week before to schedule a quick & small coverup. IC staff made the whole experience easy and stress-free. Very attentive shop managers. My artist was Drew and he was very flexible and easy to work with (especially since I changed my mind on the design last minute). He had a lot of great ideas and explained to me what could work/what wouldn't work and why. Very patient artist. When I got my first tattoo I wanted to go somewhere I could really trust, because I have really high expectations and if something isn't perfect I'm not going to like it. After a lot of research I found Brooklyn Payne here and he is a tattoo alstar, sadly he passed away recently. I wanted someone with enough skill to finish my half sleeve. Drew picked it up right where Brooklyn left off and did an amazing job. He is a great guy and really fun to talk to, the 4 hour tattoo went by so fast because it felt like I was hanging out with a friend. If you're thinking about this place, look for Drew. The shop as a whole may be a bit more than your average shop but the work they put out is amazing. And if you're a city employee they'll give you 25% off your total. Great place, wouldn't go anywhere else and I have a 1:30-2 hour trip to get here. Read Less

I recently got a tattoo and a piercing at Ink Couture. The tattoo came out perfect. I also had a great tattoo artist who did exactly what I wanted and answered any questions I had. He was very professional. I give him five stars! But, as far as my piercer, it was a horrible experience, I do not recommend coming here for piercings. He looked like a lost puppy piercing my ear. My piercing came out two days later as it was done incorrectly and I was in excruciating pain that I never experienced with any other piercing that I have. I went to another piercer at another shop for advice who did the rest of my piercings. He told me that my piercing was done incorrectly and took out the piercing for me. Also for jewelry, the piercer at Ink Couture asked me which jewelry I would like, and did not put the correct jewelry that I chose in my ear. By the time that I realized this, it was too late. Only came here for the buy one get one free deal, bad idea. Great place for tattoos not for piercings. Read Less

Love Ink Couture! I got my nipples pierced yesterday by Seven and it was a great experience. The shop was clean and designed very nicely. Seven was funny & charismatic. Made me feel so comfortable and into our conversation to the point that when he was done I forgot to pull my bra up. This place was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I got my piercing from a guy named Seven. He was very talented and knew what he was doing. All the instruments used were sterile and clean. The only downside I have is that he did not go over aftercare piercing instructions like most places do!!! He just said "there ya go, looks good." I found that a bit odd. Also, they charge $10 for using a credit/debit card for payment. There is an ATM in the back that charges $3 to pull out cash. Overall, really good experience. If your looking for your piercer to be overly outgoing this place isn't for you. But if you just want something pierced and done well with experience I would highly recommend! Read Less

One of my greatest regrets in life is deciding to get a tattoo at Ink Couture. Now I have a travesty on me FOR LIFE as well as a bad taste in my mouth from the creepy tattoo "artist" who did it. It's a fairly large hip/side piece and I seriously walked out half way through. I was getting extremely annoyed with the artist constantly trying to flirt with me, and when I got up for a break and really looked at it I was horrified, the lines were so choppy and thickened to try to hide mistakes (which weren't hid, just MORE mistakes). Very clean & courteous employees. The tattoo artists are great. The artist that did my tattoo is Jayvo Scott. He might be there only 1 day a month and he's worth the wait. Jayvo took time to ask me what I wanted and colors that I love. It's not your typical colored butterfly. Had a tattoo done by an artist in this shop who said if there was anything that needed to be touched up he would for free after it healed.Went back to get a small touch up of a wobbly line and a line he forgot from the original design and he was extremely rude and told me that he wouldn't do it (after I just drove two hours from eastern Long Island). I contacted the owner who seemed to be concerned about how I was treated he said he would look into it and get back to me the next day. Never heard back from him after that. Went to another shop they not only fixed the lines but they redid the shading and it came out 1000 times better.I don't want to bash any of the other artists at this location because I'm not sure how they are but sixx and the owner frank have left me with a bad taste for this place and how they treat their customers.And frank as per your comment below I never spoke to you on the phone and never ever said I would never drive out there again.
