Went in for a traditional sailor jerry anchor tattoo. Had Anthony as my artist and was blown away with his work! The tattoo is so perfect , from his line work to his color and shading it is by far the best tattoo ive gotten and i have several from different artists that have been doing this for decades! Im going back in a couple of weeks to have more work done by him and am very excited to see his next work of art! Not only is his work incredibly precise he works quickly and with a gentle hand. "Exquisite" is the only word that comes to mind when it comes to Johnny Truant's designs and work. He's well worth the three months you'll spend on his waiting list and the amount of time and detail he puts into every piece is truly mind-blowing. He does amazing things with realistic designs and fine lines that travel well beyond the realm of the expected and traditional. His demeanor may be reserved, but his imagination is not. Lifelike flowers with softly blended colors, multi-dimensional textures, gorgeous gradients, watercolor splashes, and intricate lace ... I have honestly never seen anyone show such mastery over such a range of technique. This is artistry at its best.Honest feedback, sound judgment, stellar design, and meticulous workmanship characterize my experience with him and I cannot sing enough praises of his talent.Civ is super friendly and does fantastic, vivid traditional design. Decades of experience and lots of international travel for his art make him both fascinating, experienced, and creative. Laura at the front desk is very approachable and nice, and the studio itself is clean and comfortable. My only regret? Settling with my first few tattoos. I have been to many shops on LI and NYC. Lotus Tattoo is hands down the best tattoo shop in NY. The shop is clean and everything hospital-grade sterile. The staff is very professional. Prices are reasonable and the artists are very talented. Christian Peters puts ink in skin like a boss. His tattoos look amazing. I highly recommend this shop. Read Less

My girlfriend and I were recommended to come into this place and were very excited for our first tattoos. Immediately we were disappointed when our opinions were ignored for our own tattoos. The artist tried doing his own designs and insisted they would look good once finished. For our first tattoos we were foolish and believed his design was okay. On both our tattoos the lines were all crooked and the design matched no where near our original ideas. We left so disappointed and upset with horrible first experiences. Read Less

Go to Christian! He's done two of my tattoos and he's great - friendly, and does a really good job putting your idea to skin. I had sort of vague ideas for my second tattoo with him, and he took my little sketch and my  "yeah well, kinda like this maybe" to exactly what I had in my head, asking lots of questions about color and my input on his design, and then he was meticulous about placement (especially crucial for a first arm tattoo, when there are plans for future work on the rest of the arm). It is healing perfectly, and the lines look great and the colors are brightening as he said they would. The shop itself is clean, and has a friendly vibe. Definitely going back. Read Less
