I like an artist that is going to Invision my tattoo and tell me his opinion on how to make it the best instead of just doing it the way I think it should done. More work in a couple of weeks. I went in a couple weeks ago for a drawing to get a tattoo done. The artist gave me an email address to send pictures to for a reference and I did the same day and set up an appointment. Then I never got a response from him, that he got the pictures or to confirm the appointment. I gave him my phone number on the day I went in. So I called the day before my appointment was meant to be and asked to speak with him, and he says he never received the reference images, he also said he wasn’t setting up any more appointments, which was weird cause I had one. He said he had the drawing done, so left a message for him to call me back and I never got a call back. Needless to say I will go to a different place to get my tattoo done. And I had to get a 50$ deposit down to get it done. Doubt I will get that back... Read Less

James is Absolutely, hands down the best piercer and most knowledgeable that I have EVER met. He doesn't just take your money... My husband wanted a tattoo of something our daughter drew. So I thought it would be really cool if she could watch her art come to life. I had James do my tragus a few months ago. Since then they have healed perfectly. He actually said they wouldn't heal fast but within a few weeks they were healed just fine. During the piercing process he talked me through exactly what he was going to do and what was going to happen, I was shocked and it made the process go by so smooth. I went here for my 3rd tattoo. After getting my first tattoo in Michigan and my second one at Carls in North Tonawanda I decided to try out ASA. I got a wonderfully done tattoo on my ribcage by Dead Ed and came back for my 4th piece on the other side that is still in progress. I loved how comfortable Ed makes me feel and how It's not typical artists who think they're better than you. Ed is older and very skilled in what he does. I went to get a tattoo while my husband was in Iraq to support him being in the service. I had drawn out the exact design I wanted, made my appointment, waited over a month and when I got there the artist had moved my design around because as he told me the design could not be done the way I wanted and he refused to have his name on it and wouldn't do it. It's funny because I left and went to a walk-in's welcome parlor where not only were they able to do my tatto the exact way I wanted and so much better than I could've imagined, but also told me it wasnt the first time they've had walk out customers from the place due to lack of artist's ability! My tattoo still looks amazing after 5 plus years which the "artist" who refused said it wouldn't. That whole place is a joke! Read Less

I stopped into American Skin Art last year to make a tattoo appointment with Ed. I brought a picture to reference what I wanted done and was given an appointment for 6weeks later. The day of my appointment I took off work and arrived early and ready to be tattooed. Upon arrival I was told Ed had left for the day without explanation and would not being doing my tattoo and that another artist would "try to fit me in!". I was extremely frustrated but was willing to be flexible. I then asked to see the sketch that Ed had drawn up for me. I was told Nothing had been sketched!!! I then sat in the shop for two hours waiting to be"fit in"and got blatantly ignored!!! At that point I told the receptionist that I was leaving and would not be returning... They open everything up directly in front of you, prep before and after. They show you exactly what you will be getting before hand. And so on.The art that James performs for Body Piercings, is beyond anything I have ever seen before. He is so talented and trust him for everything. I went in the shop tonight and was greeted by a young woman. her name was Tiara, she was very polite and nice. She took the picture I brought in and made a bit of a change to customize it. She gave me an incredible tattoo. It turned out better than I imagined not to mention that the art work in her room was AMAZING. I went to this shop for a wrist tattoo. I left without it. I had an appointment for over a week. Showed up, no one knew who I was or that I had an appointment, when I said who it was with, they all looked shocked because the artists was gone. They assured me he would be back soon so I waited. When he finally did arrive half hour later he was completely stoned (which means he is not inking me today) but rather than make a scene I let him look at the art. He proceeded to tell me that I could not have the art I wanted because the lines were to fine. Funny I looked won at my husbands leg and was proven otherwise. I have had artists tell me that I could not have something before because of the detail, but through experience I have come to learn that those are just the lazy artists, who don't wanna be bothered with actual work. I walked out of the shop that day,and will never be back.The only reason this shop got 2 stars instead of 1 is because Ed did an amazing cover up on my cousin.
