My husband and I got matching tattoos done by Pat at Altered Image a few years ago. His work is amazing! Both of our tattoos are still vibrant in color. They look brand new and we get compliments all the time . I highly recommend Pat for any type of tattoo work!

Beware, There idiots have moved to Monroe Ave Now.The owner claims to be able to do many different styles of tattooing, and while he may be able to do so, he won't. He will turn any idea you bring him into Realism. He constantly changes things as he sees fit without consulting the Client. He won't turn a customer away like an respectable artist would, instead just doing as he pleases.Worst of all, he is a con artist. Beware his "discounts" and "Sales" as they are usually the result of inflated pricing to make the client seem like they are getting a great deal on a tattoo. Another common practice is to split sessions up as much as possible so that he can charge more. He has stopped tattoos with only a small part left so that instead of only charging a few more dollars to finish, he can charge you with a full re setup and shop minimum. He also likes to charge for your total time in the chair, even though this usually includes him doing other things, such as eating lunch, or taking care of piercings or appointment setup.Owner loves to cancel with no notice, usually right as you walk into the shop for your appointment. 99% of the time it is because he never did your drawing. You know the one you put a deposit down for. If you are dumb enough to go here, go ahead and ask to see the drawing the first time he cancels on you, he will tell you its at home. This owner is not only a horrible businessman, he is horrible at tattooing, and likes to compare himself to some of the greats from all over the world. There are sooooo many better options in Rochester.

I got my belly button pierced here for my 16th birthday and it was a horrible experience. I threw up as soon as the jewelry was in my body. Not only was it pierced crookedly, but it became infected within days. The piercing closed a year later. It was inexpensive but I guess you get what you pay for.Months later, I made the mistake of going back in hopes that I could get a conch piercing. The worker basically laughed at me and told me it was too serious of a piercing. He must have been insecure with his own ability because everywhere else I've gone has been eager to pierce me and give me details on how to take care of it, change it, etc. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. The staff is arrogant and unfriendly and the quality of work is very poor. Do not waste your time or money here.

I thought this place was a good quality tattoo shop, but unfortunately it is not. The customer service is terrible. If you make an appointment either they always reschedule you at the last minuet or they come up with some excuse of why they can not tattoo you. It is very unprofessional, you call and no one answers the phone , you can't even leave a voicemail because there is no inbox. I had recently got tattooed there and the ink bled onto my skin so now I have an ink spot next to my tattoo that does not look nice. There is about maybe two employees that work there while there are about 3-4 people standing around doing nothing just staring at you while the shop looks a mess, there is stuff everywhere, it looks so disorganized customers don't want to walk into a tattoo shop that looks dirty. I wish I had a better experience but by the looks of it I will never go there ever again. Maybe if the customer service was a little bit more professional it would change my mind to coming back. When speaking to the owner on the phone he was very rude and did not have a care in the world about what I had to say. If he was a real business owner he would listen to his customers and not be rude to them on the phone, that is not a good way to keep clientele. I am very disappointed in the lack of care of the guest and the business, I will never go there ever again.

My ex-boyfriend had gotten a tattoo here and it is close to my home so I thought i would try the place out. I went to altered image on my 17th birthday in hopes of getting a conch piercing only to be turned down. I was told they prefer to have a person be 18+ for such a "serious piercing" which actually has the same risk factor as a cartilage piercing (which i already had) if done correctly. My mother was there and willing to sign for me and I thought it was rude of them to turn me away for basically no reason seeing as how I was legally able to receive such a piercing. They lost my business and I wont go back.

I got my belly button pierced here for my 16th birthday and it was a horrible experience. I threw up as soon as the jewelry was in my body.
