Was heavily recommended to this place by a co-worker who's gotten all of her tattoos done there. Saddened when I stopped by to discover that they are very unwelcoming and unhelpful.I'm spoiled by my other tattoo spot, Lark Tattoos. They are super welcoming, recommend artists, etc. When I got to Wyld Chyld, two of the employees were talking it up and I immediately felt awkward to have to keep interrupting their conversation to ask questions.I drove 20 mins and wasted gas to essentially not get an appointment, but be told to come back another day as a walk-in. I hate doing walk-ins; I don't like waiting around indefinitely or being rushed out. They really weren't friendly at all and clearly were pushing me right out the store. Yeah, great first impression. So I'm a few months late on my review but when I had went to the location I was going to walk in and get a tattoo, that changed when I decided I wanted something large on my side. After looking through the books I decided which artist I wanted based on the work they had done and what I wanted it just fit all together. I ended up getting Mish ( Coolest guy ever btw ) he took all the information I gave him and created a masterpiece, when I told him the size he was ready to go. Side Note I already have like 16 tattoos but none on my side.This was a 2 session tattoo but they were quick, Mish made sure I stuck through the pain and let me tell you it was painful even though he was very gentle and conscious of my pain and moving around. The first session was outline which hurt most and it took a lot to pull myself together to go for the 2nd session, but I did it and I was so grateful. This shaky-lined, inconsistent tattoo is simply horrendous, and it is worth nowhere near $100, which is what I paid for it. My tattoo artist had only been tattooing for a year, but failed to mention that until halfway during the session, while the needle was already on my finger. Plain and simple: don't go here. I went here today as a walk in to get a rose done on my chest. I waited no longer than 20 minutes for the drawing to be done and I was then greeted by Laura who would be doing the tattoo. I cannot say enough good things about the piercing staff here, specifically Dan. I first met Dan around 2013 when I came to him with a very irritated nose piercing. I had recently switched from a stud to a hoop at another piercing shop in Manhattan. I had been so excited about my nose hoop! It was so cute! Untill I grew an angry red bump outside of it and inside my nose, and none of the aftercare I tried would make a difference. I came to Wyld Chyld desperate on a random weekday in the summer because it is about 5 minutes away from my house. I saw Dan and talked to him about my piercing and he ended up swapping out the hoop for a new, longer stud. What had caused the flare? Turns out the other piercer had sold me a hoop that was too small, and it had irritated my already sensitive piercing and set me back in the healing process. I was bummed, but Dan was really so helpful and took great care of me and the bump ended up going away. So Dan is really great for consultations when your piercings aren't healing the way you'd hoped.Dan also pierced my industrial for me last summer. A few times during the healing process I irritated it by sleeping on the side with the piercing, or accidentally hitting my ear against a wall or tugging it with my clippers while trimming my undercut. I would develop big bumps, some pus filled, some not. I came to Dan each time for a free consultation and he would examine the piercing to make sure nothing was seriously wrong with it, and then he would clean it. Artist dee is the man. Love his work. I would never see any other artists. He is a true artist. He paints and tattoos for a living. He has done a beautiful half sleeve Japanese tattoo water floral theme. He also did the American flag 3D which I found an image online and a few shops shut me down saying it could not be done. One place quoted me 3x the price because they didn't know what they were doing. Luckily found this shop on yelp and that was the first one he did for me. He has also done my Statue of Liberty arm. Will definitely continue seeing him when I get my next tattoo itch. Definitely dig the vibes in the shop it is very cool to say the least with the decor. Make sure you tip for the excellent work! Man oh man, was I pissed about my tattoo. So I normally have a regular artist in a upstanding tattoo shop with fabulous reviews, but I wanted a small tribute tattoo to my grandparents that I figured could be done last minute else where. BOY WAS I WRONG. Laura did my tattoo, and she was such a sweetheart until she completely denied her blatant mistake on my tattoo.I waited for awhile which was totally fine considering I was a walk-in. While I was waiting, the piercer was confronted by a client who didn't have ID, but was asking to get pierced anyways, and he just agreed to it. Super sketch and gave me a bad feeling about the place, but they already took my money in advance so I felt obligated to see the tattoo through. That was also super weird. I've never been to a tattoo appointment where they make you pay for the tattoo in its entirety in advance. But after seeing what Laura did to my wrist, it totally makes sense why they do that. I got my grandmothers handwriting tattooed on my wrist. And essentially, Laura fucked up the lettering on the L. I'll be attaching a photo so you can see. So to fix her mistake, she dug into the black line with white, and has now what I believe to have created a permanent scar in my skin. It looks as if I was cut with a knife in this area. Upon realizing she had made a mistake, I confronted her about it, and she claimed that it was just a highlight and it would heal white. The most upsetting part was that she wouldn't own up to her mistake, and tried to play it off like what she did was intentional. She was right. I dont have a black line where that fuck up was. But I do have a noticeable scar that'll probably stay there for years, if not forever. Spend the extra money and go to a reputable place. Read Less

I've gotten a few tattoos here and every experience was cool but i came in a few days ago and DAN THE PIERCING MAN WAS AWESOME! This was the second time getting my nose pierced and this experience was way better than the first one because of him. He was very personable and was able to relate to my fiance and I. He went over any aftercare and details thoroughly and the piercing itself was fast and painless. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because I actually enjoyed my tattoo and have a positive relationship with my artist. My issue is with the staff. Whomever it is at the front desk should be absolutely fired. I went through a plethora of reviews to see if maybe it was just a "me" situation but no. It was a literal disaster talking to that woman. I understand that tattoo parlors have a "hard" type of feeling but there is absolutely no reason for a disrespectful staff member. Not only was sheM to myself, she was absolutely obnoxious to my family members. It sucks but I've decided that I am never returning here again. My sisters and mothers tattoo got infected within a few days of initially getting it. Mind you, they were more than prompt on the after care instructions. We then called and were literally LAUGHED at by the woman who works the desk. What? Her advice was to not go to check it out because it "isn't" infected and that they're just panicked and not educated on tattoos. Excuse me? This is literally the best place to go for anything tattoo or piercing related. I've gotten a few things done here but after my experience today I decided it was definitely time to actually write a review to express my appreciation. Chewy was amazing and when doing a tattoo for me that has little Nordic runes she took such care to make sure each symbol was perfectly historically accurate. She understood and genuinely cared about the history and culture behind it and and I honestly don't think I ever could have found a more perfect artist for that tattoo. Amazing service here on all accounts. Consultations and bookings are quick and flexible, everyone is super, super nice and chill. Prices are pretty cheap compared to what I've seen, and everything is clean. Each artist is talented in their own way and style if you look through the portfolios at the front. Pixie created a design for me based on a concept I wanted with some general reference photos. Not only was it exactly what I was looking for, but it came out great as a tattoo and looks beautiful! Plus it's very comfortable there, staff and other clients may pop in and talk with you while you're sitting through the pain, so it helps distract and pass by the time. 10/10 recommend overall. I called in to see if a piercer was available seeing as I don't live that close and am very last min. I never carry cash on me usually just my cc and the receptionist kept insisiting that I just use the atm, I kept trying to explain to her the cash adv fee would make no sense especially for a 40$ nose piercing. She made it seem as if they don't take cards at all! It's 2017 what tattoo shop doesn't take a card? Every place I've been to this is never a problem! Make it a cash only place if that's the case and plaster it on the walls or give a  phone disclaimer smh. She left a bad taste in my mouth and didn't even bother to give me a receipt I had to ask! I Came here for the first time as a walk in and I asked for pricing on a family crest tattoo I had wanted to get done for a while. After looking over some of the artists art work I was assigned to Alder, he's very talented with color tattoos and his machine was pretty quiet which surprised me. Came to get my second cartilage piercing, had Brandon. He was very understanding and even though I have had piercings done elsewhere he still went over the care instructions. There was a bit of a wait because I was a walk in, but it wasn't more than 20 minutes. Did an excellent job at piercing and it is healing very nicely. Waited an hour just to get my nose pierced. One of the front desk girls aren't helpful at all. Called earlier in the day to make an appt with a specific piercer, just got short one word "mhm" and "yep" answers. Said I could just walk in, giving me no further info. I came in around 9:00ish on a Friday night to get a tattoo. It appeared crowded but I didn't wait long at all to be set up with an artist. I got my dog's paw print with a quote as my tattoo. It's how I wanted to remember him. Chris did my tattoo and did a fantastic job. He made sure I was happy with the placement and how it looked on my ankle before starting to tattoo me. He made sure I was comfortable in the chair while he has tattooing my ankle. He made great small talk as he was tattooing, and before I knew it, he was done. I'm in love with my tattoo and now a piece of my dog with always be with me. After getting a tattoo I had to see the piercer, Dan. I wasn't getting a piercing, but I lost a bead from one of my piercings. I just needed to buy a bead and have it put on. Dan took the time to find the right sized bead and put it on for me. He also suggested I use coconut oil on my piercings to clear up and prevent dry skin that appears. I did what he suggested and it is working! The shop is very clean inside. The shop is very well run and organized. It's not chaotic. I highly recommend this shop for all your tattoo and piercing needs and wants. Read Less

What can I say about this place that hasn't been said already? Wyld Chyld is such an awesome place. The hospitality is real. My girlfriend came here a few weeks ago with her cousins and all got matching tattoos all done by Mish the coolest cat there! Real people here not pretentious artists who act as if they are surgeons making appointments and cancelations, evaluating and criticizing your choice of design that they request in consultations days or weeks prior to performing the actual tattoo. My friends and I decided to get tattoos to celebrate our friend's birthday. We researched a few different places, we specifically were looking for places that already had very high reviews. Wyld Chyld had great reviews and excellent pricing so we decided to stop by. Typically, a lot of tattoo shops require appointments and even though they were busy they still told us to come in. I decided to get a tattoo and nose piercing. I did the piercing first. Dan the piercing man is the shop's piercer. Dan was terrific, he was very knowledgeable about piercings. I was a little nervous but he reassured me. Dan was so swift with doing the piercing, I didn't even know he had done it. If I ever decide to get another piercing, I would definitely get Dan to do it. Chewy was our tattoo artist. She was very patient especially since this was a first tattoo for each of us. She had drawings around her area so that let me know that she could draw a tattoo design if a person needed it. Wyld Chyld was very clean and the staff was very nice. As a walk in, I came in on a Sunday around 2pm, they open at 12pm. While I was signing the consent form and the girl at the front desk resized my design, in that 5ish mins, my artist was ready for me. I saw Mish (could be spelling his name wrong) and he was beyond professional. He made me comfortable when I told him it was my first tattoo, he answered any and all of my questions and made sure the tatt was where I wanted it. We chatted and found out we went to the same high school and he may have known my sister. That's unique to my experience but he made me comfortable, like a doctor talking to you before a shot. When he actually did the tattoo, he stopped talking except after a bit to make sure I was doing okay. I appreciated that, that let me know he was focused and wasn't going to mess up. The girl at the front desk was great too, and the shop in general was inviting. Overall the experience is one I've already recommended and I will definitely come here again if I decide to get another. Also the price was so reasonable. I paid $60 for my small tattoo. I was going to go to Lark but they have a $200 minimum for anything, as small as a few dots. And I called them twice and was told the same thing so I know it wasn't a mistake on the front desk. So disappointed..  Wyld Chyld came VERY HIGHLY recommended to me and I was excited to go for my consultation!  The kid at the front desk had no clue, so sent me to sit with the books and look at the work of the artists.  Was not thrilled .. so I went back to the desk to ask to sit down with someone who was experienced in Japanese art tattoos.  He couldn't help me, told me to wait for someone else to help me.  Waited 20 minutes... no one!  FINALLY, an older Gentleman came out I grabbed him for assistance.  Told him what I wanted and he  basically told me... "He  wouldn't help me".  We are talking about a cover up of an older faded piece, not that difficult?!?  HOWEVER, a young  kid comes in while this man was looking at my tattoo and he QUICKLY drops me and gives all of his attention to this kid who was getting a "BAYMAX" tattoo?!  I was looking to spend a few hundred dollars and they lost my business to a kid getting a piece of flash?  Sorry Wyld Chyld...  but I can't see spending all of that money on a place with such poor Customer Service.  Not to mention that while I am looking through the pieces of flash on the walls, we hear what appears to be a "Manager" yelling at and belittling a young female employee??  UGH ... what a let down. I went here to get my nipples pierced and I was a bit nervous. I have other piercings that doesn't bother me it's the fact that complete stranger was going to see me topless is what bothered me. I brought my boyfriend with me just so I had moral support. As soon as we walked in the door everyone was so nice! The pierced Dan was very respectful and professional. He would only look at me shirtless when necessary and I know that made my boyfriend feel better. My friends and I decided to come here bc they were having $13 Friday the 13th tattoos. We could barely make it in the door when we got there. The girls at the counter were very nice and gave us rain checks to come back the following Friday. When we came back that Friday around 3 they each us clip boards checked our IDs and we all paid up front. While we waited for them to get our rooms set up my friends and I had so much fun there! We were laughing and giggling it really is a fun atmosphere! I also love that they have free iced tea. I decided to go first. My girls name was Pixie she was very nice and friendly. I let her know it was my first tattoo and she was very reassuring. I will be back just bc of her for sure! She was so nice and easy to talk to it was a very relaxing experience. I live right up the block from this place and cldnt wait to check it out! I couldn't wait any longer to touch up my existing tattoos and maybe add on a new one I was greeted by the girl at the desk in a polite manner unlike some of the reviews on here she was very professional and courteous as well as friendly and informative ,she had tattoo artist by the name of Alder available(and I hope I'm not butchering his name!)really nice guy he touched up my  Italian flag and added onto it w some free hand for a great price! then he also touched up my New York Mets skyline tattoo ,I was really satisfied with that as well,finally being a New York City cop I decided to go with sort of a Gothic cross with a thin blue line ribbon draped over it symbolizing police with the script 'Fidelis ad Mortem that means faithful until death,absolutely nailed it!he did it in record time ,the colors are vibrant and the detail is second to none I highly recommend this shop,plenty of free parking,the place was clean and well run,i don't think you will be disappointed & I couldn't be happier!Thnx Wyld Chyld!
