What a class act! This is a professional, talented group of individuals that I can't say enough nice about. My 25 year old daughter had her tattoos done . If your kids are going to have tattoos done, this is the place to go. Her art work is amazing. They dedicate all the time you need to get your design perfect before they begin. Awesome tattoo shop. I spent all day there a few days ago completing a sleeve by Laura leonello who is amazing by the way. Time flew by and I was there from 12-9pm. She was so kind and great at what she does I highly recommend checking out her work. The entire shop is clean and friendly. I saw a lot of customers come in throughout my time there and heard many interactions. Mikey who was at the counter dealing with everyone was probably one of the nicest humans haha. He was super nice to every customer. I heard a lot of stories and interactions while I was there and Laura and the shop are artists with real integrity. Great tattoo shop. After I explained what I was looking for over the phone they recommended Phil. He does some awesome work and I couldn't be happier with what he put together. I get a lot of compliments. The rest of the staff at both locations are as friendly as it gets and the shops are pretty well kept. Kings Avenue Tattoo is by far the best shop I've ever been tattooed at, and I've been to many. Every artist that works here and who has ever worked here is top notch, as expected at a shop owned by Mike Rubendall. He really knows how to pick the best artists, and the artists here cover a wide variety of styles, from American traditional to Japanese traditional to black and grey realism. Whatever you want, there is an artist here who can give you an amazing tattoo.Both the Long Island and the Manhattan locations are great and highly recommended. I never felt uncomfortable- they listen to me, gave me their expert opinion and at the end it was all about making sure I was happy with the result. On one occasion their schedule didn't fit mine (yup - you gotta wait for these guys a looooong time - it's worth it), and I went to another place (tha...t also has good reviews on yelp). I was there for 2 minutes - and I am not exaggerating I felt the difference. The atmosphere, the customer service, their cleanness, the organization - I had leave (run) and just wait for my apt at KAT. I assume everybody over there is good, because I can see they uphold high standards. However, my guy isJustin Essing. He is perfect. I trust him and I rely on his opinion, he has never lead me wrong. Besides he is just really talented. I started w/ him, and continue w/ him... I don't trust anybody else (this is a permanent thing in your body - trust is very important) I love everybody from the counter to the last room.... they are not just really good and professional, they are very pleasant. This is my 2nd tattoo from here. I just had my 1st session of many. This one is being done but Justin Essing. He was able to take my vision & by far surpass it. He is extremely talented! I went there with an idea of a tattoo I wanted. I met with Justin told him about my idea he went and drew it up. He said to me I am going to give you an elegant tattoo in memorial for my son Kenny who had just passed away. I got my tattoo on Saturday September 18, 2017. I have not stopped looking at it yet. It's absolutely beautiful way beyond my expectations. He was so gentle and kind and respectful it did not hurt at all. My appointment was with Justin Weatherholtz and I have to say...UNBELIEVABLE... his artistic hand and great eye brought tears to my eyes when I saw the completion of a portrait of my son ,.I put the portrait on Facebook as soon as I left the shop from Massapequa till the time I got home to Commack I received so many compliments and people in disbelief that this was a tattoo, they thought I put a picture on my arm. I chose kings ave for my first tattoo and I couldn't be happier! First of all, this place is extremely professional, classy, and posh. And I don't think I've ever used the word posh lol! All the staff were super friendly and accommodating. AJ at the front desk was awesome and really helped ease the "first tatt" nerves :) I worked with Rose Hardy to create my tattoo and OMG she is amazingly talented! I wanted a very big and artistic feather design with all my favorite things hidden within it. I printed out a few things I found online for my first consult, and Rose was extremely helpful and patient while we talked over the design. I couldn't believe the amazing piece of art she created based on my ideas. It looked even better than I could've imagined. Thank you Rose! Word of advice: don't bring in a picture and expect your tattoo to be an exact replica. have some guiding ideas, but let them be the artists they are and create something that will make for a badass tattoo! Getting the tattoo wasn't as scary as I thought haha! Everything was extremely sanitary, professional and comfortable. Rose made sure I had everything I needed and that I was comfortable before we started. It took about 3.5 hours and we only took one short break. Im extremely happy with the results. Everyone who sees my tattoo for the first time tells me that it's the most beautiful tattoo they've seen, or asks me where I got it done. I would tell anyone to go to kings ave for any tattoo they want.
