Review based on customer service as I refused to let these women put anything on my body permanently after the nasty way they handled my request. I wanted a simple memorial tattoo of my grandmother's nickname (four letters long) and a small heart. It was the same exact tattoo that my sisters had already gotten at another shopt and it was important to me that it match. I showed them a picture and was rudely told that my tatto was just someones hand writting and it could't be duplicated. I'd have to pick a font from thier book. When the tatto was written out in your average 'cursive' font. They thrust the damn book of fonts in my face, and after finding something that LOOKED EXACTLY like the picture I had shown them. I gave them where the tattoo was to go. And apparently that was impossible and they wouldn't do the tattoo in the spot i wanted cause the wording wouldn't read right in the direction i wanted. Except it was the exact same spot as my sisters and it looked just fine to me. When I said I was still fine with it, they refused and said that I would have to pick a different spot. Which is ridiculous. I'm the paying customer, I should get what i want where I want. I walked out and went to Ink Busters just down the road, got exactly what I wanted and it's my absolute favorite tattoo, and I was in and out in 20 minutes. Let me set the event first for my experience at Inkpulsive. My nephew had just passed away and his father, my niece (his sister) and my daughter (his cousin) all went to this establishment to get small tattoos to honor his life. So a very cathartic and special experience for our family. We were not greeted when we walked in despite making appointments. Most of the tattoos were small and simple. There were 3 nautical stars, a passage written in my nephews handwriting, a text tattoo reading "come play" and my tattoo which was an infinity symbol with the words Forever Young etched within them. The 3 ladies working were very unfriendly in the whole process and had very little interaction with us. Upon completion their design of the infinity star, which I might add they never asked me how I wanted it designed - I did not like their design. So, I explained that I want the Forever in the left upper loop and the young in the lower right loop. Her design had an unreadable "forever" intersected with "young" at the cross section. I was met with negativity and hostile like presentation in defense of her design. I told her I appreciated her design but it's not what I want. We went back and forth at this point with me trying to convey what I wanted and her telling me it couldn't be done. I told her the text was unintelligible and she literally slammed a font book on the counter and said "you find a script font that fits". At this point I was ready to walk because of the rude attitude I was getting but I didn't want to ruin the experience for my family so I remained calm and professional. I suggested that she didn't need to use a script font and she insisted that what I wanted was impossible. At this point I kindly said. "Ok don't worry about it, I'll get it done by another artist at a later time"My niece who witnessed this exchanged reminded the woman why we were here and that she was being quite rude to her uncle. Then everyone got defensive and loud in the shop. One of the artists claimed "we were only supposed to do stars" which was a surprise considering we called ahead setting the appointment and explaining what we wanted but was thrown in our faces as if our business was inconvenient to them. At this point my brother in law stood and said "let's go." To which the response was "Oh, so no ones getting tattoos now?"My niece once again told them "we are here because my brother just passed away."Their response "I'm sorry for your loss, BUT, this is a business. Maybe if I had another hour and half to design that I could've met your unreal expectations"In my experience a tattoo is something that most people hold sacred. Especially the kind of tattoos we were getting. I have several tattoos and every artist I have ever worked with has made sure I was happy with the design before placing it on my skin forever. We later went to another tattoo shop not to far from Inkpulsive. I won't write their name here because I want all who read this to know this review is authentic. Just giving them 1 star is to many. Very hard headed people, who is not willing to change their designs to the clients liking, to lazy to even redesign. My husband and I have been going to Stacey Sharp for over ten years for our ink.  She is the only artist that we have work on us - for a number of reasons. 1.  Stacey LISTENS to you when you describe what you want in a tattoo.  So many artists out there listen to a few words, and then go off on their idea of what you should have... not Stacey.  She listens to what you want, the vibe you're trying to achieve, and she puts her awesome artistic talent to work putting together a tattoo that captures the essence of what you had in your head when you walked in the shop.  2.  Stacey is not afraid to be HONEST with her clients.  If you walk in there asking for an image that will not work well as a tattoo, she won't take your money and let you walk around looking like an idiot wearing a crap tattoo... she will tell you up front, and then come up with a better way to present the image so that it works on your body.  Stacey has the experience, the imagination, and the skill to take your tattoo dream and make it come to life on your skin.3.  Stacey STUDIES her craft, and mixes her own paint.  I went to her shop looking for a tattoo that looked like it was printed on a page from an old book.  Not black ink, not color - but sort of sepia-toned.  I had asked several other tattoo artists about that, and they told me it "couldn't be done" because there is no tattoo ink in that color.  Stacey listened to my idea, and said "sure, I can do that"... and she did!  She custom-blended the ink to the exact shade that made the tattoo look like it was done on parchment paper.  Awesome! 4.  Stacey KNOWS SKIN.  All the skin on your body does not take tattoos the same way.  Stacey knows if the tattoo you are looking to get will work in the place you're thinking of putting it.  She will work with you to make sure that the art she's putting on your body will show up the way you want it to, be lined up to make the best use of the space available, and be visible (or not) in a way that will make you happy.I will post photos when I get home from work, so you can see what she's done for us.  Right now, I'm working on ideas for my next addition to my "Shakespeare arm" (the left).  I can't wait to get my next Stacey Sharp tattoo! Inkpulsive is like having a second family. A really creative, wacky, trucker mouth second family. I never know if I am going to be there for 2 hours or 8 hours. But every time I go there I am greeted warmly unless Gordy is whitening her teeth. If you are looking for a creative original tattoo this is the place to go. Read Less

Last year my partner and I got tattoos done by Stacey. A million stars, she was professional and worked with us on the design. Offered constructive advice and criticism. I see some shitty reviews on here. It's bullshit. We both love our tattoos. Her work is beautiful and she's clearly a talented and experienced artist. I'll be a client for life. ok, so here is a interesting review!  Stumbled in here on April fools day!  Why?  To play a joke on my fiancé.  So here is the story, I always joked with her about putting her name in a tattoo on my body, and she always said NO WAY.Well, went to this place and asked them to make a stencil with her name on it spelled wrong!  They happily accepted the challenge.  Then applied it to my shoulder and pretended to tattoo me while I snap chatted and took pics.They were super great sports and helped me with my goal of pulling off a great April fools joke!  Everyone on my social media basically fell for it!  Thanks Inkpulsive, when I am ready for some new ink I will be sure to visit your shop. This was my first experience getting a tattoo and I am so glad that I came to Inkpulsive. Although I was nervous about the procedure, the staff was wonderful and walked me through each aspect with professionalism, patience and expertise. I now have an amazing tattoo that I am proud of. This place is a whole in the wall. The people were SO unprofessional and it was their way or the highway. They think they can talk extremely disrespectful to you and think that they will still get business. Whatever opinion was given to change the tattoo the "artist" quickly shut it down usually with a "that's stupid". Extremely unprofessional staff. Highly recommend NOT going here. Read Less

I've had many tattoos in my life.... in fact more than I can count.  I've been to many different places, some amazing & some piss poor.  I first went to inkpulsive on the recommendations of my friends Scott & Chris. Thankfully I listened.   I work with Jen, the owner, exclusively but not due to taste.  Stacey is an amazing artist in her own right, but Jen is seeing my vision through.Can't wait to get back for more ink! I have had three tattoo's done at Inkpulsive by Anthony before he left. After my last tattoo I didn't go back for a touch up right away as my tattoo's have yet to show fading. Recently I wanted some more work done to complete a sleeve tattoo. So I go as a walk in only to find no one their but the apprentice. She tells me that Stacey will be back in half an hour, so I leave the sketch of what I wanted and my number. I waited all day to be called to either come back in or make an appointment. I was never called. I call a month later, to a very unprofessional call, with one artist booked the rest of the night and the other having to be asked over the phone if she was available, only to hear the artist in the background told what I wanted before hesitantly deciding what she wanted to do. I used to love these guys and the work they did, recommending them to all my friends and people I met. Not so much anymore. Read Less
