My pain tolerance is nonexistent and truly there was no pain. Just finished getting my nipples re-pierced. Had to take my piercings out for a MRI and heads up to those who ever get theirs done and have to take them out for whatever reason, nipples heal fast! On a whim, (yes probably not the most well thought out whim,) I decided I wanted my septum pierced.  I had my nostril pierced numerous times and just fell in love with the look of the septum.  Decided to pick a place near work before I chickened out.  Studio Body Art is in an upstairs area facing Roosevelt Ave.  It is nothing spectacular but the level of piercer overshadows everything.  My piercer was totally professional and I swear the septum piercing was my least painful piercing.  He totally got it in the sweet spot as he explain the tiny area is between the cartilage.  Really clean, friendly place.  Totally recommend. So happy to have found this place! My four year old has been asking to pierce her ears for a couple of days. We talked about it; I let her know that it could hurt and that if and when she's ready I would take her. She told me that she would be brave and insisted on getting earrings now. I called Studio 316 and they answered all of my questions and addressed my concerns over the phone. I took my daughter the next day. They were so professional and treated her with respect and care. She was presented with a variety of earrings to choose from, which was very exciting for her. I love this place !! I got a vertical labret done and It healed with no problem. It remained in its place until I changed the jewel after almost a year and a half. I love this place! 10/10 recommend. Patty and Pirata are so cool!! The first time I went, I went to pierce my nose and I liked it so much that I came back to change it from a stud to a hoop. I went back and got my ears repierced because I had done it at st marks and they had no sense of placement or symmetry so my earrings used to hang on the edge of my lobes :( I let them close, and waited for Pirata to pierce them. She was so meticulous and patient with making sure they were symmetrical and that both earrings would show according to my face and the size and location of my ears on my head. Patty also has eyes for symmetry, and made a suggestion to position the hole in a different spot. It looks so cute!! Plus they give you a card so if you get five piercings done, you get one free!! Got a double nostril piercing here! Super great😊 Patty made me feel very comfortable. I called in advance to ask about the pricing, starting at $25 for each one and jewelry is included when you get the simple ones that she shows you. The piercer(I didn't get her name) but was also very friendly, she showed me all the clean and new materials and walked me through the process. She did it so quick too! What takes the longest is the setup and choosing placement, I brought in a picture to help show exactly how I wanted mines positioned. Everyone was very friendly and personable and my piercer seemed knowledgeable and professional, and she got my piercing out quickly and with minimal pain. Wow, never taking my kid to Claire's ever again! Banger was super fast with my daughter's cartilage auricle piercing. No pain at all- no lidocaine used either! Great prices: $25 for the cartilage piercing be the earring. I tipped her $5 . We will be back soon for another piercing. Cash only,  people! This place is CASH ONLY! I've gotten 6 piercings here last year; tragus, conch, forward & back helix, and industrial. The piercer is friendly, sanitary, & informative. The owner is also very friendly. I've also bought some earrings from here. Apparently, the earrings are all or mostly made from surgical steel, so they cost a bit. They also give you a card where they stamp how many piercings you got, I think the 7th is free. (It might be the 5th or 6th, can't remember) They also have this screen thing if you want to get piercings or tattoos done privately.I've had to close both my forward & back helix because of constant keloids. My industrial keeps getting keloids to this day and it gave me the most trouble out of all of my piercings. A few weeks after I got my industrial, it got really swollen, red, and the bar dug into my raw skin & it was a painful mess. When I went back to this place, the piercer assured me that the swelling would go down & the redness would subside. I just had to wait it out as the piercing was new. At least it wasn't infected like I thought it was. The owner gave me this powder which is supposed to help it heal but my ears just don't heal well. I washed all my piercings with a sea saltwater solution & antibacterial soap like the piercer told me to do for 6 months or more.The only piercings that didn't give me trouble was my tragus & conch. I personally don't recommend getting cartilage piercings as they don't heal well & you might constantly get keloids. I'm in no way blaming this studio, its just my ears. I am so happy with this place! My husband and I took our 10 month for her piercing. We went by reviews and wanted the piercing done with a needle. Got my belly piercing here 2 days ago and it was the best experience ever. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the workers. They were super nice and efficient. The place was clean and organized. They started me off by signing a paper to make sure I was of age. I was told to choose the jewelry I wanted which included the piercing price and was escorted to the piercing chair. My piercer was super friendly and super chill. She explained every step she was going to take and showed me that everything she was using was new and sanitary. The process was super quick. Went in for a small wave tattoo with blue and white coloring. When it healed it was not at all how I wanted. There's no white and barely any blue. I was promised complimentary touch ups for life and when I requested one they told me I had to pay the shop minimum of $50! They told me it was only free touch ups after the first month. For anyone who has tattoos, you know a month is barely enough time for a tattoo to heal properly. The only alternative they offered for the free touch up was "if you get another tattoo we would use the same needle to touch up your other tattoo" I only gave them 1 star because no stars isn't an option.Read Less

This place is super in the cut. There's another tattoo/piercing spot right next to it so pay close attention. I called to make sure they were open because I decided Easter Sunday was a perfect day to impulsively get a piercing. I got a cartilage piercing ! :) cash only so be sure to visit an ATM before you visit. There's tons of little shops in the area so you should have no problem finding one. My piercer was super sweet! Very knowledgeable about her craft and also explained everything perfectly and what to expect. VERY clean. It was pain free I barely felt a thing. I bled a little bit but it wasn't a big deal. Finally got a family tattoo with 4 of my cousins. The staff was incredibly patient and were great to be around. The shop is very clean and showed us the needles and explained every step they were taking. Definitely put my cousins at ease since it was their first time getting tattoos. I came here with my boyfriend to get an outer ear helix piercing on each ear about two weeks ago and I loved the entire experience. The lady who greeted us at the front was very sweet to both of us and helped pick out the ring that I wanted. And then the piercer was this kick ass person who made sure to show us that she cleaned everything and disposed of the used needles. We joked around the whole time we were there and they made us feel super comfortable, which was very much appreciated. The piercing process was very quick and easy. There was a little pain of course but it was so quick that I only felt it for a second. After that I was told to clean it every day and sea salt spray was recommended. They were pretty informative about caring for the piercings which is very important of course. So yeah! Awesome place that might look a bit weird from the outside, especially considering the area but it's an awesome place. I love all the art work they have up. I brought my daughter here to get her ears pierced based on the reviews here. The small studio is a second floor walk-up on Roosevelt, right next to the 7 train tracks (not sure how much privacy that affords if you're getting anything more private pierced).  The piercer (believe it was Banger) sanitized and cleaned her tray before each piercing and showed that the needle she used was new and sealed. I would not say that she was super informative about what to expect, but really... what is there to say I guess? She proceeded to mark the spot in which she would pierce and I was able to confirm that the location was good (didn't really see the difference in the spot but did realize that earlobes are not necessarily even in size...). My daughter flinched and teared up a bit but no crying!  I also got a tragus piercing while I was there and ouch, I forgot piercings stung! It was super quick though.It's now been a little over two weeks and after a little discomfort and itching initially, our piercings have healed nicely.I believe all piercings are $20 each. Their earring choices seem on par with smaller sized shops with less "designer" options. I'm fine with that as I'd rather not pay that premium for the piercing earring. Extremely friendly,  clean and fast!  Got my 3rd cartilage piercing done here and I was fast and easy.  Other person I was with also got his ears pierced for the first time and thought it was a great first time experience.  Piercer sanitized everything properly between our sessions and then used brand new needles.  They have the proper disposal boxes as well for needles.  I would definitely go back again when I'm in the area and want a new piercing :) Read Less

Brought my toddler here to get her ears pierced after spending hours researching safe places/tools/techniques/reviews etc. I came across a great post at 5minutesformom.com and went down a trail that led me to a place and technique (needle piercing) that I wouldn't have envisioned for this. When we arrived at this second floor walk up along Roosevelt Avenue, I had good vibes. It's a studio room but on an early Thursday afternoon no one was getting tattoos. I already connected with Patty on the phone so we went straight to picking out the earrings. There were less than a dozen starter earring options which I viewed as a plus (minimal analysis paralysis). My daughter picked out classic sparkly rounds in a gold setting. Banger (I think that was her name) set up her tray, gave my little one lollipops, carefully marked the spots and was patient as my mom and I scrutinized the placement. When we were ready, bingo bango plus a few tears in between, we've got sparkly ears. Really fast piercings.The staff was supportive, professional, patient, chill and kind. Banger and Patty gave us care instructions while my little one danced around, and even helped us bring the stroller down the stairs. My daughter was so happy. Four days later, other than a little blood around one piercing after she slept on that ear the first night, no issues in the healing process at all. Great spot for kid ear piercings! Read Less

Went to get my 6 year old's ears pierced, and decided on this place, which I'm so glad we did. She had a really wonderful experience, and everyone getting work done even cheered her on. Our piercer, Banger, was very down to earth and kind towards my daughter and put her at ease. She talked her through the process, cleaned her ears, and did the piercings super quick. Though she was very nervous, my daughter did not cry once, and I think it's because she liked the piercer so much and because everyone in the shop encouraged her. The tattoo artist even gave her a little stick on butterfly tattoo afterwards, and two other ladies gave her lollipops.
