I am a heavily tattooed girl who has gotten the majority of my work done by Luke, Jesse, and Dylan  at Timmy's.  I have been blown away each and every time I have gotten a piece done, with absolutely no complaints.  I don't know what the bad reviewers are talking about in the slightest, but they must have skewed perceptions of the way a tattooer/client relationship works.  I can not say enough positive things about every artist's ability and personality at Timmy Tattoo, in addition to the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Absolutely amazing shop & artists. I've gotten six tattoos here & I'm thrilled with each one. Mine range from very simple line work to detailed sea & farm animals. I've never been disappointed with the work or the artists there. Their styles differ from one another so if you're looking for something specific you're bound to find someone you like. Each artist is nothing but professional in dealing with clients & artwork.  I've worked through drawings with my artist & I've never ever been afraid to say no, ask for something different, or voice my opinion. You can get a walk in poke or a beautiful piece of art. Either way the shop is clean and professional!Sounds like Nichole has nothing but her naïveté to blame. I have no doubt she wasn't held down and forced to be tattooed. Sorry you made a bad decision, Nichole. Blasting someone on Yelp isn't going to make you smarter. Also a tattoo artist has a right to say no. Yeah, it's maybe annoying you can't get what you want (entitled millennial problems) but he/she loses a client. I went in as a walk in and asked Luke Loporto to do a simple three triangle tattoo on my tricep. It was only after I got home and looked up his Instagram that I felt like a total noob for asking him for my simple geometric tattoo given the amazing work and large size portraits he does. But at the time, Luke made no fuss or judgement over me wanting to get something so simple, and my tattoo turned out great. I regret my experience every day with Luke Loporto.  Basically had the same experience that "Elenor" had down below... Except I unfortunately actually got the tattoo.  It was my first time getting one and I came in with a drawing of what I wanted.  I specifically said the things that I do not want or like and he said "yea sure no problem, you're def going to like it".  I came on the day of my apt and he was just starting to sketch it up and it was literally of all the things I said I did not want.  After hours of arguing with me about it and making me feel terrible, he completely insulted what I wanted and said he's not going to tattoo something that's ugly and forced me into getting what he drew - 6 times the size I anticipated!! It's freaken huge.  I wish I could tell my younger self that it's ok to walk out - that this is not how it's supposed to be. I wish that I did every day.  A good tattoo artist is supposed to listen to what you want AND do a great job.  Why force someone to get a tattoo that you only like? It's not on your body! And plus, if you didn't like it why say you would do it?! Why not just say no? Did Luke really need the money that bad?  I have numerous other tattoos from other places, even one from Thailand that was done with bamboo and I love all of them.  The way he treated me and handled everything was just so completely wrong and my young, naive self actually let someone do this to me.  Anyways, years down the road I am finally planning to get laser tattoo removal.. And hopefully getting the beautiful, normal sized tattoo I had planned for.  I hope this review helps anyone else who reads this. Read Less

Came here yesterday to get a new piece by Jesse. Had a great experience. Had an idea and Jesse ran with it and I couldn't be happier with the results!  The place has a great vibe, a comfortable atmosphere with just enough character to make you want to come back. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgable. I heard a few conversations with other artists and clients and you could immediately tell that everyone who works here is not only an artist but a helpful guide in what can and will look best. The guy I met with wouldn't listen to anything I said. He was rude, belittling, aggressive, unprofessional and insulting. Obviously I left without getting my tattoo since he essentially refused to give me a tattoo that he deemed "unworthy" of his brilliant artistry. Any tattoo artist that can't figure out how to fit 6 letters on someone's wrist where and how they want it CERTAINLY isn't an "artist". This was supposed to be my first tattoo. A very meaningful and important thing that I've wanted for many years. I'm really discouraged and distressed by this awful experience. Read Less

If you're looking for quality artwork to carry on your body for the rest of your life, this is the place to go. I lost my tattoo virginity here on my 18th birthday, and have remained loyal to the shop ever since. My artist at the time, Gin Hicks, is amazing and crazy talented! She took all the nerves away from getting inked, and talked with me throughout the entire thing. Everyone that works there is friendly and down to earth. Got my first tattoo at Timmy Tattoo (from Gin, who has since moved to Portland) and was impressed.  I had gone to another local tattoo shop and was put off by the whole experience and ended up walking out without ink.  The whole atmosphere at Timmy Tattoo is pleasant, friendly, and fun.  Now I just have to wait until Gin comes back to visit to add to my ink! Me and a "friend" stopped in on a spontaneous whim, she wanted lips had to have lips, after some price haggling she walked out with lips and the word Lust underneath. I got a tattoo here YEARS ago, and if the chic that did my foot here was still working at this joint, I'd def look her up to do the big piece I'm working out.Anyway - she let me know ahead of time that its iffy getting a tattoo on your foot for a couple reasons - aside from the mind- numbing pain, they can distort, maybe won't color properly - etc. etc. etc.I took her advice, moved my tattoo and its been one of my favorites for years.And I didn't get heptatis here, so its clean Read Less

After my tattoo artist (Gin Hicks) came over to this shop, I just had to follow her.  She had started a rather large tattoo on my foot, traveling up my leg, two years ago and I decided to go ahead and extend it some more.  So a friend of mine and I headed over to Timmy Tattoo and found Gin and got new ink.Gin is an amazing artist.  She's friendly and very upfront and honest about what looks good and what doesn't look so good.  The shop is larger than it seems when you look in from the window.  There are two tattoo stations in the front that are kept very clean and very organized.  In the back there are piercing stations and old-school tattoo chairs you can sit on.  The shop is very welcoming and again, very clean.  I'll definitely be back to get some more work done.
