I am loath to write this review. I have come to Trueblue tattoo on multiple occasions for multiple tattoos and have had great experiences here. However, the last time I came was terrible from start to finish. I had an appointment originally scheduled with Jeremy however I had the flu and was unable to come in. I was able to postpone my visit for one week but I could not have Jeremy do my tattoo. I said fine. My mistake.I show up after work the following week to find that they did not have heat. This gave me pause as 1. it was beyond freezing (we had just had our big snowstorm the week of Jan 1 and this was that same week. 2. they had generators going to power space heaters which kept shutting the power down. I felt like they should have called me to make me aware or reschedule. I don't know. I should have left but I had to dig my car out to get there and it seemed more work to leave. Kelvin was my tattoo artist for the day, and while the work he did was beautiful unfortunately, he added a piece that should not have been there. Maybe it was from when the power went out twice while he was tattooing me and he didnt realize he added the line, I really don't know. My friends told me to go back and talk to them but since the line is permanently tattooed on me, what could be done? I didn't notice it until I got home and it has plagued me ever since. In between the words "to hope" there is a little line between "to" and "hope" I am sure most people can't see it, but since it is on my skin, it is all I see. I have spent the last 2 months trying to scratch it off me or using A&D to bleed it out. It has lightened but just barely. The first picture is the second I got home and saw the added line. The man who did my nose piercing July 1st  was very professional. Everything was clean and sterile. I've had my nose piercing done two  times before and this was the most painless experience. He was very knowledgeable and had a very calm demeanor. Everyone who know piercing your nose is not the most painless experience, but somehow he made it pretty painless. He was funny and easy going. GREAT craftsmanship! Looked up the design I wanted, and drew it freehand, which impressed me! Then, I took a deep breath, and he started. I was very nervous! But, really, it was a mild sensation, really can't even call it "pain". If I know anyone getting a tattoo, I say check this place out first. Great from start to finish! Read Less

Walked in to inquire.. I'm a 52 year old tattoo newbie.. So let me tell you from a buyers perspective.. these guys are awesome!! They were super friendly & knowledgeable. I asked Vinny so many ridiculous questions and he answered them all kindly, with a smile and some jokes thrown in. He was adorable, especially since its so obvious I would not be the easiest client! It was honestly one of the nicest experiences I have ever had in a shop of any kind! Then today I get to my office and cant wait to tell all the young hipster girls that I finally made a tattoo inquire and it turns out one of the girls had her entire arm done here!! Just finished getting my tattoo with the amazing Ron. He managed to cover my finger tattoo with a beautiful rose tattoo. Mind you I have a tiny finger so it was amazing how he was able to squeeze amazing art work on a small canvas. They're an amazing group of people who make me feel less nervous about getting a tattoo. 10/10 will get tattooed again. Read Less

Walked in to inquire about a tattoo. They were very rude. I started asking questions and one artist at the front proceeded to tell me "I'm clocked out" then when the girl asked someone in the back to do the tattoo he said loud and clear, as I could hear him from the front desk "I'm not doing that. That's a pain in the ass". Afterwards the one in the front said "if you really want it I guess I'll do it" (please don't do me any favors for a service I'm paying you for) then when I asked why it was such a pain he gave me a pen from the jar and said "here, try to get this ink into your skin". Today was my third time coming to True Blue. The first time I went to get some extra ear piercings and the owner himself did them right away. He noticed a fresh tattoo and could tell exactly how old it was. He said he would have charged me much less for it than where I got it, so for my next tattoo I came back here. The people are friendly and laid back and play movies in the waiting area. I can't remember who tattooed me last time but today I got inked by Wolf and he was really great. It's not your hipstery city center tattoo parlor but they keep it real and their prices low (starting at only 60). I'll keep coming back. Read Less

Hands down best spot in queens to get tattoos and piercings. Ron and Jeremy are both amazing artists and give you exactly what you asked for and more. Ron has amazing line work and shading, he's not afraid to give his input on how to make your tattoo look the best it can. Jeremy is super patient and is also great with shading and details. Julian at the front desk is always very helpful and friendly. Haven't had work done by John yet but he's really cool and ive seen his work as well. Honestly you can be tattooed by anyone at true blue and leave happy. Definitely my go to spot. Read Less

I've been coming here for a good 10 years for piercings and I have to say they always do a great job. I haven't had any tattoos as of yet but I have many friends and family members who have had tattoos done here and they always look beautiful. They seem very clean and everyone is just in good spirits, which I think is helpful if you are a nervous person when it comes to tattoos and piercings. I believe they have pretty decent pricing for different pieces. They open at 2pm but I think they are open pretty late and I believe they are open every day of the week. Call to make sure the piercers or tattoo artists are in on any given day as some days they are not all in. All in all, I'd say this is a great place to go for your tattoos and piercings. Read Less

As far as piercings go I absolutely adore Brian! He has done my septum and my helix (cartilage) both of which I am completely happy with. My friend has done her rook with him and was also very content. He is more then willing to answer any questions you may have and really has a steady and easy hand. He also explains everything very well so you know how long it will take to heal, instructions to clean it, when to change the jewelry etc..... Outstanding!!!We were on the hunt for a Tattoo parlor that was clean, reputable & did quality work at reasonable prices and we happened upon this place thanks in part to the other great yelp reviews.We walked in and was promptly greeted by Megan who was quick to inquire from us what we were interested in and if this was to be a first tattoo, gave us The rundown on where to start, what was to be expected, general pricing and all the necessary particulars and before I go any further thank you for the yelp 10% check in offer; check!So basically we reviewed their photos and some artwork books but ultimately found a design elsewhere that we wanted duplicated and finished into a tattoo; no problem! The task was simple enough, we e-mailed them a few days prior to our scheduled appointment and simply showed up the day we were scheduled. I love True Blue, as easy as 1.2.3 and no hassles!our design that was sent via email was scaled to measure & fit what we wanted and the work began on time as promised!The tattoo artist was well informed, easy to communicate with & talented, work was started & finished in 40 minutes! We were sent home with a care package and encouraged to keep in contact should anything arise or we simply had questions or needed advice!The finished Dragon tattoo is everything we wanted it to be dark, rich, glossy and beautifully done and without problems or additional concerns.
