My first tattoo experience 7/1I've been contemplating over the years about having a tattoo and if I did, who would I trust? what would I permanently get on my body? And what meaning would be behind it?I came across my tattoo artist because I've known him since our High School days. We had art class together. His art has always been on point and he has a passion for it. I remember him always focusing and laying down every line perfectly while everyone else rushed through their project.I decided to put my trust in Wei because of his passion and his perfection in line work.I gave him ideas of what type of floral piece I wanted, the style and placement. He managed to whip up a gorgeous sketch that I fell in love with. He was very welcoming when I got there. The studio is very clean and so was his station. I watched step by step as he had set up carefully. He made sure I was comfortable and offered to listen to whatever type of music and was attentive to my needs. When the session had started he told me what he was using and how it would feel and if I needed a break to let him know. When I was done he was VERY informative about the aftercare instructions as in what to do, when to do, what to expect, what not to do and to reach out to him if I had any questions or concerns.Overall my experience was amazing. I would definitely go back to Wei for another piece. I felt very comfortable and put my trust in him beyond anything I've ever did. He was open to whatever ideas I had and perfectly executed. Very professional and attentive. I am so in love with my first tattoo. Thank you Wei for designing this beautiful piece on me!!!

Just got my FIRST EVER tattoo at Jing's earlier today and I'm beyond satisfied with the finished product!!!!For the longest time, I've been trying get a tattoo, so it is without a doubt that I was going to be super picky with the artist. I have researched many places from San Francisco to Florida to New York to Europe to Greece, and everything led me back to Jing's. Aside from her work, her story of perfecting/expanding her style while in China and Korea, is a must read. Location: Jing's Tattoo shop is located in Flushing, and they just moved to a bigger space just a couple blocks down. Service: Prior to my 1st consultation, I emailed Jing about my thoughts on a piece and she quickly responded to schedule a face to face consultation. During my 1st consultation, I was helped by Wei, another tattoo artist at Jing's. Wei was super friendly in mapping and brainstorming 1 of the 2 pieces I want. He was very reassuring in getting the piece I want, whether it's the size, location and/or design. A deposit is required to book the appointment/working on a design (about 1/5 of estimated price of tattoo).Upon arrival today, I was greeted by Yida. Yida works the front desk and he is Jing's translator as Jing isn't super fluent in English (she speaks Mandarin and I believe Korean). Yida was very welcoming and attentive as he double checked on exactly what I wanted, where I wanted, and all the other formality stuff. Everyone in this staff was super friendly and most importantly, they don't pressure you in any sort of way. Work: Being it my first tattoo, I was super nervous and also, I'm not big on needles and blood (I didn't tell Jing this as I didn't want to psych/worry her). Upon first touch, the pain was not bad at all. It's hard for me to compare the hands as this is my first tattoo artist (and probably my only!), but I can say Jing has a very gentle touch. As I'm laying there and watching the clock, I can tell that Jing is super detailed, cautious, and a perfectionist. She lets nothing distract her as her eyes are laser focused into her artwork. I was very surprised that this tiny piece would take ~1.5hrs, but I knew that great quality work takes time. We took a break midway, and continued to go on. I had the opportunity to see Jing outline the Roman numerals prior to shading it in. TBH, the outline almost convinced me to just leave it as it is. The lines were so precise and clean! The finished product was amazing. Price: The price for the tattoo was a bit on the higher side than I anticipated, but for me, to have something on your body for the rest of your life, the price didn't matter. You should be paying for the artist. Jing was worth every penny + tips. Overall: Although I went with a common design of Roman numerals for my first tattoo, I'm super happy that my first time was with Jing. Everything about the look, the experience, the service was way beyond my expectations. I know this won't be my last tattoo as I am already in discussion with Yida on my second piece. I strongly recommend Jing and her colleagues if you're ever looking for your first, or simply fine line designs. Yida also walked through after care instructions and ensure how to have the best turnout. Thank you Jing, Yida and Wei, for the great first time experience. Wanted a small circle design done and after being told by multiple studios that circles will be expensive and are tricky to do, I found Jing on Instagram and decided to go with her since she seems to have good attention to detail. I was still a bit nervous when I turned up since the other studios fussed about how difficult circles were. But Jing absolutely nailed it. I couldn't be happier with the result. The studio was also super accommodating, they were quick to respond and were happy to fit me in the next day because they had a cancellation. Thanks Jing!

I had visited a few tattoo shops before I set foot at Jing's. The other shops weren't really working with me and they became a bit of a headache. But at Jing's the service was great from the moment I first emailed. They communicate in a very timely manner and its clear they work hard to ensure customer satisfaction. Yida, the gentleman at the front desk, helps with sizing and makes sure you are happy with the tattoo placement.Jing is ridiculously talented! I got my Batman piece done about 8 months ago (sorry for the late review) and I am STILL in love with it. She is VERY detail oriented (which as a teacher, I can definitely appreciate lol). Pricing is very reasonable given the amount of detail that Jing clearly puts into her work. I am looking forward to going back for another piece VERY soon! I would highly recommend this awesome spot.

Really wanted to like this place. I got a wrist tattoo and from the very beginning the counter guy kept warning me about this placement as it fades easily. I completely understand and appreciate a professional's advice. However the amount of times he was reiterating this, plus saying they won't do touch ups on this area should have been enough red flags for me to take my business elsewhere. I've been following this shop on ig for a min and their yelp reviews were on point so I followed through despite being quoted a higher than expected price. It's been over a month and I'm quite disappointed. The lines are not consistent and what's going on with these thicker dots? I came back to reread the reviews and found another unhappy customer who got a wrist tattoo. It all made sense with the dude's excessive warnings. If they don't feel confident in this area, they should say so especially if they charging an expensive price (plus extra for a few changes I made aka some dots and lines, do you see how simple my design is..) I ended up getting this touched up elsewhere and now it looks more even. Giving my stars because it could've been worse, and the artist was nice and tried her best. But the guy at front rubbed me the wrong way and the tattoo definitely fell below my expectations given what I paid. I can see they do good work so maybe it's just the wrist/ hands where they fall short. Anyway, this experience for me was not worth the price or the hype.

If you like Dr. Woo and Mr. K, you need to check out Jing. She's meticulous and patient. She listens to what you want and spends the time to ensure a one-of-a-kind tattoo.

Jing and Yida are very attentive to their client's requests. Jing is an exceptional artist and very meticulous with her craft. They quoted me a two hour session for my tattoo that was a quick and last minute booking since I was traveling to NY for business. Jing ended up working on my tattoo for over three hours because of the detail of my piece and the challenging skin condition. Apparently, my skin is thin and on the dry side so she had to go over the tattoo in two stages in order for the ink to settle in and keep the fine lines. They stayed late and made sure I was happy with the finished piece. I could not be more happy with the way it turned out. I highly recommend Jing. Especially if you are a fan of Dr. Woo or Mr. K tattoos. She's very affordable and accommodating and I believe she will be the next big tattoo artist to compete with Woo and K.

The lines are so crisp and perfect I'm so in love .It hurt way less than any other tattoo I got and it might be because of her technique and skill, the shop is nice and clean and the man at the desk was also very helpful and informed me of everything I needed for aftercare. I would definitely recommend anyone who wanted a tattoo to come here

What can I say? I have nothing but great things to say about Jing. Yida (the guy in the front) handles interactions with the clients including phone calls and yelp. When I came in for a consult, I was surprised at the price and decided to follow through with it because I have heard great things about this place. Yida helps you with the placement, the sizing and the color. He may seem like he wants you to go through with it because he cares about what you want to put on your body forever. He will go over anything if you ask him. Any questions or concerns, he'd be more than happy to help you. I had a 12pm appointment and was told it would take about 2 hours. 2 hours you say? Well, it depends on what kind of piece you want; whether or not it needs a lot of shading or fine lines. I was not disappointed. The amount I paid was on par with the meticulous detail put into the tattoo, the shading is perfect, the fine lines and everything was just so breathtaking. If you are thinking about coming here to get inked, don't hesitate. You are truly in good hands. The pain on the other hand was extremely tolerable. Since I got it on my shoulder where the skin is thicker, the pain was not bad at all. However, the shading got quite pinchy at certain points because you have to think about the needle going over the same area repeatedly!Shortly after Jing finished up on my shoulder, Yida came in to take photos of the piece. Some people may find this weird but I see it as an artist who loves their work and wants to document it. After, she patched me up with a bandage and Yida went over the aftercare instructions. Also, the tattoos come with a touch up that expires within 3 months just in case the healing process doesn't go as smoothly. Just remember that this doesn't account for your own mistakes like going out in the sun when you were told not to, bumping into things and scratching off your tattoo!Thanks guys, if I'm thinking of another piece (which should be soon), I'm coming back here. PS : Jing speaks Korean and Mandarin. Pretty awesome.

I first started looking at several places and this caught my eye. I sent them a message and they told us to come in for a consultation the day of. They were really nice and friendly . The ride took us an hour and when we arrived , we were greeted. We only stayed in New York for less than a week so it was definitely last minute . I was not expecting the tattoo artist to start immediately . They stayed overtime to make sure we were happy with the outcome. I will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you guys so much.

I found Jing's Tattoo through a Google search and based on the portfolio I saw I immediately knew it was where I wanted to get my new ink (I already had six other tattoos). The atmosphere of the shop was very mellow, casual, but not at all unprofessional. I made an appointment a week in advance; there's only one artist in the shop and she seems to get pretty busy. The tattoo I got is on my chest, a difficult (and painful!) place to get inked but it came out beautifully. I couldn't be happier with it and I've gotten lots of compliments. If you're anywhere near Flushing, New York I'd highly recommend Jing's Tattoo.

I got a beautiful forearm tattoo in early September '15 and I love it. I was exactly what I wanted and Jing and her team are ready to help with design and color. She's an exceptionally talented artist who uses top-quality tools and ink. Part of the tattoo is a "zen brush circle", I can see each individual stroke and it tapers as if a paint brush was used.

Wanted a small circle design done and after being told by multiple studios that circles will be expensive and are tricky to do, I found Jing on Instagram and decided to go with her since she seems to have good attention to detail. I was still a bit nervous when I turned up since the other studios fussed about how difficult circles were. But Jing absolutely nailed it. I couldn't be happier with the result. The studio was also super accommodating, they were quick to respond and were happy to fit me in the next day because they had a cancellation. Thanks Jing!

I had visited a few tattoo shops before I set foot at Jing's. The other shops weren't really working with me and they became a bit of a headache. But at Jing's the service was great from the moment I first emailed. They communicate in a very timely manner and its clear they work hard to ensure customer satisfaction. Yida, the gentleman at the front desk, helps with sizing and makes sure you are happy with the tattoo placement.Jing is ridiculously talented! I got my Batman piece done about 8 months ago (sorry for the late review) and I am STILL in love with it. She is VERY detail oriented (which as a teacher, I can definitely appreciate lol). Pricing is very reasonable given the amount of detail that Jing clearly puts into her work. I am looking forward to going back for another piece VERY soon! I would highly recommend this awesome spot.

Really wanted to like this place. I got a wrist tattoo and from the very beginning the counter guy kept warning me about this placement as it fades easily. I completely understand and appreciate a professional's advice. However the amount of times he was reiterating this, plus saying they won't do touch ups on this area should have been enough red flags for me to take my business elsewhere. I've been following this shop on ig for a min and their yelp reviews were on point so I followed through despite being quoted a higher than expected price. It's been over a month and I'm quite disappointed. The lines are not consistent and what's going on with these thicker dots? I came back to reread the reviews and found another unhappy customer who got a wrist tattoo. It all made sense with the dude's excessive warnings. If they don't feel confident in this area, they should say so especially if they charging an expensive price (plus extra for a few changes I made aka some dots and lines, do you see how simple my design is..) I ended up getting this touched up elsewhere and now it looks more even. Giving my stars because it could've been worse, and the artist was nice and tried her best. But the guy at front rubbed me the wrong way and the tattoo definitely fell below my expectations given what I paid. I can see they do good work so maybe it's just the wrist/ hands where they fall short. Anyway, this experience for me was not worth the price or the hype.

Jing and Yida are very attentive to their client's requests. Jing is an exceptional artist and very meticulous with her craft. They quoted me a two hour session for my tattoo that was a quick and last minute booking since I was traveling to NY for business. Jing ended up working on my tattoo for over three hours because of the detail of my piece and the challenging skin condition. Apparently, my skin is thin and on the dry side so she had to go over the tattoo in two stages in order for the ink to settle in and keep the fine lines. They stayed late and made sure I was happy with the finished piece. I could not be more happy with the way it turned out. I highly recommend Jing. Especially if you are a fan of Dr. Woo or Mr. K tattoos. She's very affordable and accommodating and I believe she will be the next big tattoo artist to compete with Woo and K.

The lines are so crisp and perfect I'm so in love .It hurt way less than any other tattoo I got and it might be because of her technique and skill, the shop is nice and clean and the man at the desk was also very helpful and informed me of everything I needed for aftercare. I would definitely recommend anyone who wanted a tattoo to come here

What can I say? I have nothing but great things to say about Jing. Yida (the guy in the front) handles interactions with the clients including phone calls and yelp. When I came in for a consult, I was surprised at the price and decided to follow through with it because I have heard great things about this place. Yida helps you with the placement, the sizing and the color. He may seem like he wants you to go through with it because he cares about what you want to put on your body forever. He will go over anything if you ask him. Any questions or concerns, he'd be more than happy to help you. I had a 12pm appointment and was told it would take about 2 hours. 2 hours you say? Well, it depends on what kind of piece you want; whether or not it needs a lot of shading or fine lines. I was not disappointed. The amount I paid was on par with the meticulous detail put into the tattoo, the shading is perfect, the fine lines and everything was just so breathtaking. If you are thinking about coming here to get inked, don't hesitate. You are truly in good hands. The pain on the other hand was extremely tolerable. Since I got it on my shoulder where the skin is thicker, the pain was not bad at all. However, the shading got quite pinchy at certain points because you have to think about the needle going over the same area repeatedly!Shortly after Jing finished up on my shoulder, Yida came in to take photos of the piece. Some people may find this weird but I see it as an artist who loves their work and wants to document it. After, she patched me up with a bandage and Yida went over the aftercare instructions. Also, the tattoos come with a touch up that expires within 3 months just in case the healing process doesn't go as smoothly. Just remember that this doesn't account for your own mistakes like going out in the sun when you were told not to, bumping into things and scratching off your tattoo!Thanks guys, if I'm thinking of another piece (which should be soon), I'm coming back here. PS : Jing speaks Korean and Mandarin. Pretty awesome.

I first started looking at several places and this caught my eye. I sent them a message and they told us to come in for a consultation the day of. They were really nice and friendly . The ride took us an hour and when we arrived , we were greeted. We only stayed in New York for less than a week so it was definitely last minute . I was not expecting the tattoo artist to start immediately . They stayed overtime to make sure we were happy with the outcome. I will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you guys so much.

I came here a few months ago for my first tattoo. I have to say that I was extremely pleased with the service. They were patient and welcoming. They freely gave advice on everything I needed from font choice to placement and size as well. The actual tattooing was just as pleasant, with Jing clearly taking her time to get everything right. I will definitely come again whenever I figure out what my next tattoo will be.

I found Jing's Tattoo through a Google search and based on the portfolio I saw I immediately knew it was where I wanted to get my new ink (I already had six other tattoos). The atmosphere of the shop was very mellow, casual, but not at all unprofessional. I made an appointment a week in advance; there's only one artist in the shop and she seems to get pretty busy. The tattoo I got is on my chest, a difficult (and painful!) place to get inked but it came out beautifully. I couldn't be happier with it and I've gotten lots of compliments. If you're anywhere near Flushing, New York I'd highly recommend Jing's Tattoo.

She's an exceptionally talented artist who uses top-quality tools and ink. Part of the tattoo is a "zen brush circle", I can see each individual stroke and it tapers as if a paint brush was used.
