Holy Ground Tattoo is a clean and comfortable shop specializing in custom work, black and grey, traditional, Japanese and realism tattooing. Between our five tattooers, Josh, Mark, Seth, Zach and Donny we are sure you will find an artist and style that you are looking for. Our artists have designs available to the public, but will also gladly turn your personal idea or design into a tattoo. We take walk ins and can book you an appointment if the work requires more time and planning. Whether you are looking to get something small and quick, or work on a back piece, we are here to make it happen!

I originally started going to holy ground back in 2011 at the old location and I was a client of Josh & David. I had met Mark through a guy James, I was hanging out with when I went with him to get his ribs tattoooed. Once we stopped hanging out he said he was going to bad mouth me to the shop so I stopped going there all together. Then in July 2017 I ran into Mark at the store and we started talking again on facebook and I even cancelled my appointment that I had at lucky deville to get tattooed by Mark. On August 18th I went into his shop at the old location and I gave him a $60 deposit for Saturday, October 21st appointment and he never bothered giving me an appointment card with my date/time slot or my deposit amount on the card. Then 2 days after I gave him my money there was a fire at the old location so I told him to keep my deposit towards the new shop, and I even donated an additional $20 to his gofundme page. Then on Thursday, September 14th I stopped in and talked to him and saw the new shop and I handed him another $100 cash and paid for my tattoo in full, and he still never bothered giving me an appointment card or nothing saying I paid him. My tattoo was supposed to be scheduled for tomorrow Oct 17th @ Noon because I changed the original date. Then Mark acted offended because I asked him why he stole 2 of Lucky Deville's Artist. I truly regret cancelling my appointment at that shop to go back to Mark he is another scam artist shop in Buffalo. He wasn't the only artist who screwed me over it was also Mark Madden and Eternal Ink that i've had issues with in the past and how they screwed over my appointment/money.

I went a few times with my fiance when she was getting hers and finally went for my first, but not my last tattoo, from Krista. I could not be happier with the end result! The atmosphere is welcoming...
I went a few times with my fiance when she was getting hers and finally went for my first, but not my last tattoo, from Krista. I could not be happier with the end result! The atmosphere is welcoming, shop is very clean and the artists are great to work with. Id highly recommend this place to anyone.

AVOID MARK AT ALL COSTS!Unless you want to be super disappointed, request someone else. I'm sure the shop is very nice, just put your tattoo in someone else's hands. Here's why:As Mark did my husband's first tattoo probably 6+ years ago, he wanted to go back to him. So, we found him. As a Christmas gift for my husband, I got a hold of Mark (after several attempts) to make an appointment for him to get his second tattoo. I was finally able to make an appointment with him 5 weeks in advance for January 9th at 1 pm. I let him know that it was a Christmas gift, and was therefore very special.I let my husband know ahead of time so he could work on a design. He sent Mark several pictures and asked him to draw something up ahead of time to show him, as well as give a price so he can bring cash. Mark pretty much blew him off and said he'd show him something day of (no price given). My husband is a very patient and kind individual so he said ok.So the day of comes. My husband arrives at 12:45 for a 1 pm appointment. Mark had someone in the chair, so he figured he would be going soon after. He waits until 1:45 pm, even the owner acknowledges that he's there for Mark. Nothing. 2:30 rolls around. Still nothing from Mark. FINALLY my husband gets up at 3:15 pm and asks begrudgingly he if he should reschedule. Mark's response was, and I quote:"Dude, I didn't even know you were here for me. My computer broke. (My husband explains who he is and hes here because his wife made an appt 5 weeks ago and hes been texting back and fourth with him). Oh! OK. What are we doing again??"Christmas present ruined. STAY AWAY!!!

This shop has the best group of tattoo artists in Western New York! I've been getting tattooed by Mark since 2008, and I still travel to conventions to get inked by him. This is the cleanest, most down to earth shop in town, and all of the artists there are incredibly talented. (Mark does some killer freehand, and Butters does crazy colour work!) Holy Ground is frequented by famous guest artists, and the place has an all-around great vibe.

I'm a little shocked that no one has given any more reviews on this shop. I can tell you from experience... I've been here MANY times and it has never been a bad time. The guys here are funny and joke...
I'm a little shocked that no one has given any more reviews on this shop. I can tell you from experience... I've been here MANY times and it has never been a bad time. The guys here are funny and joke around with clients all the time but are professional when it comes to tattoos. I have had work done by both Josh and Jake Anderson. Josh is such a talented artist. He did a tattoo over my entire forearm and it was only $60. Now Jake on the other hand is my main artist. I have gone to him for years now and I wouldn't change that. Jake is very professional, a great artist, and is all about pleasing the customer. Not to mention, he won't rip you off. Sadly he is not at this shop anymore. There is also a newer artist named Zach Grimm. I have not had the pleasure of being tattooed by him yet, but I can't wait for the chance. If you are into traditional style... hes your go to guy. I know how hard it is to find a place you can trust for good work, but this place will easily exceed your expectations.

Very disappointed. Came here on a whim from reading the other review. Walked in and saw someone talking to a customer about a tattoo. He looked at us and didnt say a word. While we stood there people in the next room looked at us and also didnt say a word. We waited a good ten minuets before leaving. Not even a hello. Felt very unwelcome.

I originally started going to holy ground back in 2011 at the old location and I was a client of Josh & David. I had met Mark through a guy James, I was hanging out with when I went with him to get his ribs tattoooed. Once we stopped hanging out he said he was going to bad mouth me to the shop so I stopped going there all together. Then in July 2017 I ran into Mark at the store and we started talking again on facebook and I even cancelled my appointment that I had at lucky deville to get tattooed by Mark. On August 18th I went into his shop at the old location and I gave him a $60 deposit for Saturday, October 21st appointment and he never bothered giving me an appointment card with my date/time slot or my deposit amount on the card. I'm a little shocked that no one has given any more reviews on this shop. I can tell you from experience... I've been here MANY times and it has never been a bad time. The guys here are funny and joke around with clients all the time but are professional when it comes to tattoos. I have had work done by both Josh and Jake Anderson. Josh is such a talented artist. He did a tattoo over my entire forearm and it was only $60. Now Jake on the other hand is my main artist. I have gone to him for years now and I wouldn't change that.
