I have had tattoos done by both Jon Jon and Hillary and I couldn't be happier. The entire staff at the shop is extremely knowledgeable and professional in every way. Jon Jon did a pretty straight forward tattoo for me, but the shading and line work he created really elevated the original stencil. Hillary did a very complex coverup piece for me that she designed based on a basic concept I had and I am BLOWN AWAY by what she created and executed!!! My boyfriend and I decided on Triple Diamond because of it's unique vibe. However, the work we received was not unique at all. We wanted an extremely simple concept on our finger, and the artist charged both of us $100. We were very excited to get this tattoo together so we hesitantly agreed. Lesson learned. Got my first tattoo done by Hillary Blair about a month ago, but wanted to wait until everything was fully healed to leave a review. Hillary beyond exceeded my expectations. I went in for a consultation about two weeks before my appointment to chat about what I wanted and to give her my references. She showed me her design the day of my appointment, I asked her to make a couple small changes, and she was able to get exactly what I was going for. I was pretty happy with the way it looked when she applied the stencil, but the final result was so much better - her shading is incredible. Best tattoo shop ever, go to Jon Jon! I want to start by saying I do not leave reviews about anything. However, this place is more than deserving of the highest praise, especially Jon Jon. I have many tattoos and have experienced the whole spectrum of amazing to terrible. If you are reading this, don't look any further and put your trust in Triple Diamond. This is an amazing shop with great people there.  I had a tattoo on the back of my arm I wanted covered and went in because of other complimentary reviews. I came in as a walk-in - which as many of you know, it is best to call and schedule a consult, as artists are usually very busy but I simply wanted input if anything could be done about my tattoo. I couldn't be any happier that I did. I was met by Hillary and Shannon who were both super friendly and very candid in the nicest way possible about how I should proceed, what would work as a cover and what wouldn't. She recommended I speak with Jon Jon. I had a few vague ideas of something I wanted as a cover up and Jon Jon knew immediately what would work and look best. He was very reassuring and incredibly friendly. I was eager to get this tattoo covered and would be leaving the city in a few weeks and Jon Jon MADE time in his busy schedule, so this could happen before I left. He was so friendly and accommodating and I could not be happier with the work he did. It would not give Jon Jon due justice to call the work I received a cover up because it truly looks amazing. The whole process of working with him was a very easy and pleasant experience.   All the artists here are super cool. Everybody I spoke to was so welcoming. ok. So I’m back for an update, from 5 stars to 0 stars (0 stars not an option). I went there to coverup a three word tattoo. Bobby said he could fix it so I put my chest in his hand and he transformed it into what I thought was a beautiful flower. As the days progressed, I realized tattoo was too dark/muddy, colors on flower was dull after I’d been promised, color would be lighter. After looking at other tattoos online, I realized mine was horrible. The words undeneath are peeking thru new tattoo. I went to multiple places to see if mess could be fixed and was told only option is laser. Some other artist said the person who drew it seemed to be lacking experience etc..and wasn’t good at drawing. I’m too embarrassed to go into summer with this nightmare on my chest. $240 and I’m left with trash. Please do your homework before doing tattoo. Pls only write review when tattoo is healed( although within days I saw flaws)...deeply saddened!!!! Heartbroken!! Read Less

I got a tattoo here and while the artist was nice and staff ok, the whole store was horribly dusty. I came here as recommendation - the only reason I stayed.My tattoo didn't turn out well and I had to go back to get it retouched. Unfortunately, even after retouching it there are still spots that weren't filled well.For the arrogantly high prices the store is expensive, not hygienic and the end result unsatisfactory. Had a really fantastic experience at Triple Diamond. My wife passed away in September and my daughter and I decided we wanted to get a couple of tattoos to honor her. From the first phone call to set up an appointment (a very sweet young lady named Shannon was my contact) to walking in the shop and working with Bobby (a totally skilled and pleasant gentleman) the whole experience was GREAT. Due to the reason for the art, there was a very distinct air of respect being expresse...d by everyone in the shop. The whole process was called a TRIBUTE by Shannon and Bobby and this just made me feel so wonderful. A little background, we traveled in from Jersey (about an hour and a half ride), I'm 60 and this was my first tat and the trauma of the passing was still very fresh. We arrived early, they got us in, started the consultation and got to work. The whole thing went smooth, the atmosphere was great, the finished product was fantastic. This is a very delayed review for I got my first two tattoos here back in March of 2015. I still love them as much as the day I got them. My experience here was beyond amazing with Jon Jon. I was a walk-in and I have to say I have yet to find another shop like this one. The shop was clean, awesomely decorated and the artists were amazing. I came in to get a tattoo that I had reworked into a dragonfly, and I went to Hillary. She had a great personality that made me feel comfortable, and she put care into making sure we were on the same page with the tattoo. Once she was done with the tattoo and I saw the picture, she had transformed what was there into something so much more fitting for me, and it turned out very beautiful. Really awesome tattoo. My favorite one by far. Called for a consultation with someone who was good at line work and ended up meeting with Simon. A week later I got it done and the lines are incredible. Amazing!I found Triple Diamond Tattoo while browsing Yelp reviews to get my current tattoo.  The amount of detail and custom work caught me eye and drew me to the shop.  I called and made a consultation appointment to discuss what I wanted.  I walked in the shop and was greeted by unique various antiques and collectibles.  Simon Turner, my artist, listened to my ideas and looked at my reference images.  I had my shoulder area outlined and little notes jotted on a piece of paper.  Fast forward two months later, I see my artwork and was completely ecstatic.  The custom and unique art given to me was simply amazing.  Simon incorporated all elements of what I wanted within the my desired boundaries.  From this moment, I knew coming here was the right choice.  My tattoo session was excellent.  The expectation of three to four hours in a session was set from the beginning so I knew it would take two sessions.  I hoped to accomplish four hours in my first session to knock most of the work out, and it was.  The place was very clean and I sat comfortably in an older style (dentist?) chair.  Simon's steady hand and talent is evident in the work produced.  The four hours flew by as we were jamming out to rock music and chatting.  Every time I glanced down at my tattoo, I couldn't help but smile.  I am extremely happy I made the decision to come to Triple Diamond.  I cannot express how fantastic the artists' work is.  Simon definitely hooked me up with an excellent piece of art.  I will be a returning customer.  **I am looking forward to my second session in a few weeks.  I will update this review with more images of my complete work.**2nd Update: I finished my second session and Simon definitely killed the tattoo (again). I asked for a nice background to give the piece more life and he said no worries and began planning it. After the first session, I knew I could give my him my full trust. BEWARE OF HIDDEN POLICIES. Completely appalled by the unprofessional conversation held in the phone with the female artist who preceded to hang up on me. After having a death in my family, I had to be flown out the day before my appointment. As Triple Diamon is closed on Sunday and Monday I was unable to reach them via phone due to my lack of service overseas. I was not verbally informed that my $200 deposit would be COMPLETELY LOST as I was unable to make my appointment due to this unfortunate incident. After mentioning that I was not verbally informed of the policy, the young lady on the phone became quite arrogant insisting that the call come to an end because she did not find it "productive." After mentioning that I was willing to have a legal aid contact her through email pertaining the unspoken policy, she proceeded to raise her voice and said "Call your lawyer!" And hung up the phone before providing the email. I'm definitely surprised by the manner in which she handles the situation as it was rather unprofessional. I advise that you take the matter of reading the fine print and asserting yourself with the policy very carefully. I was verbally informed of the non refundable policy but not the cancellation lost. Now, I'm at a loss of $200 because of a policy the tattoo artist, Simon Turnner was reluctant to relay. I'm not sure how they expected me to inform them that I was unable to attend if I am in another country, under duress and unable to revive or make any outgoing calls, text or any cellular services for that matter. Very appalled by the lack of information provided & the way the situation was handled considering the circumstances. Will pursue. Read Less

I have just landed from my second visit to American Electric. I found them after a quest to find a really good tattoo artist that does not have a huge chip on their shoulder. I called to check hours and was greeted with Amy's pleasant professionalism. I am now freshly inked for the second time by Amy's talented hands. The experience is comfortable and friendly with neighbors and repeat customers dropping by on occasion. The shop is clean and classy. Amy made me feel comfortable and very confident in her skills. I always bring in my ideas for her opinion. I have never met the owner, Craig, but people who have say he's great and he is a fellow motorcycle geek. After almost 15 years of wanting a tattoo, I decided to finally go for it at Triple Diamond Tattoo.  And I'm glad I did!I had done some research about various tattoo artists and shops in the area, and I generally like to do business "locally" whenever I can.  The shop is very clean and has some real cool curios for sale in the front with the tattoo area in the back.  I was so nervous just going in to set up the appointment (which sounds ridiculous, I know), but everyone in the shop that day (Shannon, Jon, and Simon) was SO nice and friendly.  These are people that look like they genuinely enjoy what they do.I discussed what I wanted with Simon and he advised me on what would work for the image I wanted and at what size would be best.  He didn't pressure me into doing anything I didn't want or sound judgmental of any of my decisions.  He was clear about the process and what to expect.On the day of, Simon showed me the image he created based on the reference images I provided--it looked even better than I imagined!  He made sure that I had eaten enough before hand so that I didn't get woozy or faint during the sitting, and he was incredibly supportive and encouraging while I was getting the tattoo.  I'm about 2 weeks into the healing process, and the after care instructions they provided are clear and effective (I've barely had any redness since the day of, and Simon explained the different stages of healing--oh man, the itching!--as well).Once I save up enough money and figure out what I want my next image to be, I'm definitely going back to Triple Diamond Tattoo! I absolutely love my new tattoo, Triple Diamond is an excellent shop! I 100% recommend stopping by for the strange vintage shop up front and then making an appointment with Jon Jon. I first e-mailed to inquire about a consultation. When I didn't get an answer for a couple of days I chalked it up to normal cooler, busier, better than everyone else tattoo shop mentality but then I got a response from Shannon. She apologized for the lag because they were at a tattoo convention and immediately provided consultation times that worked with my schedule (what a treat!). The consultation went great and Jon Jon couldn't have been nicer. He listened to all my concerns and ideas for a partial cover up and immediately made me feel at ease and confident in his abilities. When I finally went in to get my tattoo it was a fabulous experience. The shop is clean, has good music and everyone that works there is friendly and helpful. I've been getting tattooed for over 20 years, and Triple Diamond is my absolute favorite shop. Ever. I had a half sleeve cover-up piece that I wanted to turn into a full sleeve and get the not-so-great cover fixed (you could see what was underneath, which doesn't count as a cover). Jon Jon did a piece for a friend that I liked so I stopped in, instantly liked him, and made an appointment. I only gave him a vague idea of the style I wanted and he came up with the perfect designs to cover the previously done job and make the full sleeve look seamless. Aside from the great work done here, everyone is NICE. Jon Jon is super-friendly. Shannon is the sweetest. The other artists working there are always cool. Anyone who has spent any amount of time in a tattoo shop knows this is a huge plus because it's not the norm (in other words, there's usually a huge amount of unnecessary and inexplicable attitude). Also, the music is great and not the usual death metal that seems to be a requirement for tattoo parlors (no offense to fans of death metal -- it's just not for everyone and not the most relaxing). The collection of oddities for sale are great to look at as you sit there for hours getting sleeved up as well! (Thanks for the raccoon penis. It made for a great birthday gift.)I would recommend this shop to anyone.
