My fiance and I have been trying to find the perfect place to get matching tattoos that we have wanted for a while, and Three Kings was able to take us right away as walk-ins. Our tattoo artist was visiting from LA, but he was excellent. He designed a tattoo even better than the picture we brought in, and was efficient yet careful with our rib tattoos. After a long search, i found Bethany on Instagram and meticulously inspected every picture to see if I would invest in microblading with her !!  After a few minutes scrolling I was convinced I needed to make an appointment! I waited for her book to open for May and scheduled an appt for Cinco de Mayo! Truthfully on my way to my appt, I didn't even feel nervous on the contrary I felt confident because of the quality of her work was quite evident! I was called in by Bethany pretty quickly and she was so sweet, conversed with me and got to work on shaping my non existent brows and bringing them to life ! Once the was done sketching she asked me what I thought of them and I seriously couldn't think of anything that needed to be corrected! They weren't even filled in yet and already looked amazing! She got to work and paid attention to detail and was precise in her strokes! Once she was done she reviewed her work numerous times and then handed me the mirror I was in awe!!! I finally had eyebrows again!!! She's a miracle worker!!! My face looks soooo different with brows! (As I said before mine were non existent!) Very reasonably priced and even includes some documents to remind you of the aftercare process, and includes some soap and ointment for the price! I got my tattoo of a sea turtle here. Had an amazing experience from start to finish. Their website has a bunch of useful information about their artists and their individual portfolios. I loved a lot of their work, but Hunter's work spoke to me and was aligned with what I wanted. I booked a consult with him, showed up the day of and was greeted by an energetic and helpful staff while I waited for my appointment time.I had a really quick conversation with the artist, Hunter, I shared some reference materials. I felt like our consult was quick, and I wasn't sure at first if he had all the details (spoiler: he did). I scheduled a time with him to come and actually get the piece done, he gave me a quote and I put in a $100 deposit. Their prices are pretty much in line with what you would expect in NYC, nothing crazy, but not cheap (well worth the money)The night before, I sent him some more reference work, and some extra details on what I wanted and he was quick to respond.I got in a little before my appointment time, and Hunter showed me what he had drawn up. I was amazed, every little detail we discussed was incorporated, even the things I sent him the night before our appointment he was able to bring into the work. I needed pretty much nothing changed.The actual experience of getting the tattoo was great, I was comfortable the entire time, we had a great conversation over the 2.5 - 3 hours I was in the chair. The tattoo came out much better than I could have imagined.Hunter gave me pretty easy instructions to follow during the 2 week healing period. This wasn't my first tattoo so I knew what to expect. Currently still healing up, so I'll update this after I am done healing, but the experience was overall one of the best I have ever had with any studio, and any artist. Everything about my experience at Three Kings was awesome! I worked with Kati over email, sharing photos and inspiration pics prior to a consultation. My appointment was set for a few weeks later. On both occasions, my interactions with shop staff were friendly and professional, and the shop was not only super clean but also very welcoming. I had to email a couple times to set up some logistics, and always received prompt and detailed replies. The actual experience of getting the tattoo was excellent as well. Kati showed me the final design and was very responsive to my feedback about size and detail. This is a very important piece for me, as this tattoo was a memorial for my dog. During the process, Kati checked in with me to make sure a was doing well. Getting a tattoo will always involve some pain, but Kati's care and concern made it more than manageable during a fairly long session.Most importantly, I couldn't be happier with the final product. I had Bethany do micro blading because I heard she was the best . She was extremely expensive but since she was the best what the hell . I went the first time and they weren't even I left very upset and my mother had told me to go back and get it fixed bc it was def not even , she fixed it . I let them heal .. and went for a second touch up after about 2 weeks they turned red where the ink is and stayed that way .. so I'm not left with red blobs on my eyebrows . I would not recommend going to her for your brows .Response to three kings - my brows are blown out and red only a year after getting them done . I am really happy with my tattoo and my experience with Three Kings. Amanda and the receptionist were so kind and helpful from the beginning to the very end. I emailed first and Amanda worked with me to create something I wanted that was also realistic with my price point and body placement. I felt the quote was fair and she honored it when it was time to pay. I scheduled my tattoo a few months before my appointment. My boyfriend also wanted to get one on the same day and they were able to accommodate him with another artist. (Which I will note was a very different, still good, experience from mine). We were coming out of town to visit NYC for Christmas so we were excited that the scheduling all worked out. We took the metro and it was only a block or two walk. Very convenient. We stopped to get bao buns beforehand and there were many restaurants and quick stops to get snacks and water. The shop itself was clean, spacious, comfortable, and warm feeling. I walked in and thought it was nice to smell the Christmas tree they had up at the front. There was also a returning customer there who seemed friendly and excited to be there. I was very very nervous to get my fairly large color tattoo but because everyone was so awesome, I was settled after a few minutes. My boyfriend was also helpful so I recommend bringing one friend if you know you're someone who needs it. Amanda is so talented and specializes in floral/insect tattoos and I recommend looking at her online portfolio on her website and instagram. She is very understanding and patient and super chill with the tattooing process. She used cocoa butter and Bactine which I appreciated and when it got really painful she helped me by spraying more Bactine and talking me through it. She didn't mind me taking breaks, nervously talking, or eating my snacks. My only complaint is the metal fold up chair that they had for customers to sit on. I sat for a few hours and it was not comfortable. In hindsight, I wish I brought a cushion. Otherwise, I felt really comfortable the whole time which for me was very important. When I was finished, she gave me Tegaderm, a hug, and took pictures for me. I was super happy and was already thinking about my next tattoo . Read Less

I received a tattoo during an appointment with Gustavo Rizerio in September.  I had a rough idea of what I wanted to get and brought some illustrative images I had downloaded from the web with me.  Gustavo sketched out a specific design based on the idea and turned it into artwork on my skin with beautiful lines and colors.  Healed well within two weeks.  Three Kings Tattoo is not cheap, but the quality is worth the money spent.  I would not want to compromise on something I will carry on my skin for life. I've wanted my FIRST tattoo FOREVER. It's seriously been the same vision for years: same wording, in the same font, in the same location. I've been putting it off due to fear (read: being a little bitch), but this year, for my birthday, I wanted to FINALLY DO IT. Spontaneously called 3Kings because they had good reviews and the Greenpoint location was most convenient. Walked in so freaking apprehensively on what felt like the hottest day of the year in July. I was seriously hyperventilating at one point. I knew it was so stupid of me to feel that way and I tried to push it off and not embarras myself too much. Front desk staff was somewhat sympathetic and nice (read: wide-eyed, mouth-opened "this bitch is nuts" kinda thought process), brought Shea over (amazing eyes and covered up head to toe!!!) He gave me some tough love, I'll be honest! I didn't like it at first and was all like, "ew ok no wtf? I'm outta here, f this!" but I'm SO GLAD I got over myself (!!!) did it and most importantly, the tat itself came out awesome, too!!!!!Great overall experience! Clean & professional place! It only took 33 years to grow a pair and do this. Couldn't be happier and more proud of myself. Today Bethany tattooed my eyebrows.  I had this done once before (in another city) and it did not work out well, so it was with some trepidation that, 6 years later, I searched for an artist to do it again.  Because I'd had my brows tattooed before, Bethany required a consultation and was thorough and honest - I was not a candidate for micro-blading but it was a "yes" for ombre.  Two weeks later I am happy with my eyebrows for the very first time in my life, and they're not even healed yet!  The process was minimally uncomfortable and I felt completely secure and confident that Bethany was doing it right.  Clear instructions were given both for pre- and post-tattoo and I felt all of my questions were answered. So, I'm way late on this, but just now realized I never wrote a review, and i try to review businesses and services as often as I can because I know Yelp has influenced my decision many times.I came here early in 2017 for a straight forward simpsons tattoo. Came in with the still and everything, so it really was a line for line copy (I wanted to get a scroll with the quote at the bottom but he said it wouldn't fit). I was able to come in as a walk in and be seen that day. Great! Gustavo worked on me. He wasn't the friendliest, but he wasn't impolite or anything, and I didn't come in shopping for a new best friend, so it wasn't a big deal to me. He went to work shortly after he agreed to do the tattoo.took him less than an hour, and it came out just as the cell did. Sweet! Then he told me that it came to $300. I'd never paid nearly that much for any of my other work, and I had guessed that the total would have come out to $150 or so. My fault for not getting a quote. So in the end, with tip (because I'm not a total dick), I paid $350 for a tattoo that took less than an hour with artwork already prepared. The money is the biggest reason for the three star instead of five star review. Get a quote. You may regret it if you don't. Read Less

I had 22 tattoos before going to Three Kings Tattoo for my 23rd, and I have to say it was my best experience yet getting tattooed. The atmosphere was relaxed and professional at the same time, and the staff were very helpful and kind, and seemed to really want to make the best possible tattoo for me. I was a bit intimidated by the shop after my consultation, but the the people there turned my intimidation into excitement almost immediately. I will definitely be going back to Three Kings for my next tattoo. The quality of this tattoo is better than any of the other ones I have, even though I flinched about a hundred times during the tattooing process. Came for a walk in on a Saturday and was placed with Shea, who gave a quick consult to help finalize the design idea for a pair of over knee tattoos and a pyramid on my arm. Shop was very clean and spacious, and was able to sit with Shea with only a couple hour wait. My brother and I spent our birthday in Brooklyn and wanted to celebrate by getting matching tattoos. We found Three Kings via a quick Google search and we're so happy we did. The place was immaculate (those tufted sofas were incredible!) and the staff was great. Gia was a rockstar in walking us through the entire process and making sure we were comfortable. Visited Three Kings yesterday for my first ever 'impulse' tattoo. Thought of a concept that morning and walked in. The moment I walked through the door, I felt good. The shop is clean, bright, and I was greeted immediately. The woman at the counter who I believe is named Lee was super helpful and curious about my design, so I showed her first. She called one of the artists over, Adam, who smiled and shook my hand, sat down with me and went over the piece and pricing. I wanted a simple feather from an ink drawing a friend had made and Adam nailed it, line for line. He makes his own tattoo machines, too, which is pretty badass. Overall, I had a great experience and I think they hit all the categories of what a great shop should be: clean, fast, friendly, professional, warm. I had a really great experience here! I got my second tattoo here and I love it!First, the shop is beautiful. You can tell everything is well taken care of and clean. I was waiting on a comfy couch and admiring the artwork on the walls. Also, it was snowing heavily and they managed too keep the floors dry so no one would slip. Next, they were open on a bad snow day! They still kept my appointment! How can I not give five stars when these poor people kept open in terrible weather and kept my appointment time??I got tattooed by Gia. I wanted a serotonin molecule but not just a plain molecule so I asked if she could jazz it up a bit. I love what she came up with (photos to come). It ended up bigger than i originally envisioned, but I'm glad it is!! I think it ended up being the perfect size. Finally, Leigh at the front desk was very helpful and welcoming. She put my coat and everything in the back for me, which is definitely more than I expected. It was also fun to get tattooed by Gia, great conversation. I was tattooed by Gia - it was my first trip to Three Kings. I had a concept for the tattoo I wanted to get but needed to spend some time researching it and the artist I wanted to do the work before scheduling. I had a couple of other tattoo artists in mind but Gia's work with nature was what ultimately brought me to Three Kings. All of my other tattoos have been done by a Lower East Side establishment but I've since moved out of Manhattan and will do anything I can to not go back in if I don't HAVE to. The Brooklyn shop is a 20 minute train ride or a 10 minute car ride from my house in Sunnyside so the location could not have been better for me. Super easy to get to, the receptionist was especially helpful in setting up an appointment with me (walk-in days make me nervous!) and they were VERY clear that it's predominantly a cash-only establishment. It's worth saying that I was VERY impressed with the price estimate they gave me. Gia was super helpful in creating my artwork and helped explain a lot of the design elements with me. She was great at talking to me throughout the tattoo itself, was super receptive to feedback & generally made me feel like I was catching up with an old friend. Have been tattooed here twice. First time was excellent, Matt was super friendly and professional.  For that one visit I wish I could give 5 stars unfortunately the second time the tattooist was rude and ignored me. Charging me $120 vs $100 because he clearly felt he was above what I requested. Had he been friendly and even spoken to me I wouldn't have minded paying more. First tattoo, and I couldn't be happier with the way things went.I called ahead, was told that for my tattoo I'd be fine as a walk-in and that I needed to bring cash.  I went there the next day and got seated with Gustavo, with zero wait-time.  He was great:  no long and lengthy discussion involved.  He asked me what I wanted, gave me a price estimate, helped me flesh out the idea a bit, made sure I was happy with the sketch and sat me down in the chair immediately.  As soon as I was comfortable, he set to work, and finished my tattoo (a black triforce at the center of my upper back) in less than an hour.I went in assuming I'd have to bite my lip and deal with some pain, as part of the tattoo had to go over the spine / bone, but he was excellent.  Was barely in "pain" at all.As soon as we were done, he carefully and patiently explained how I was supposed to take care of my skin as it healed: what products to use, how long and often to apply them to my skin, when I could start exercising again, etc.  The only minor mishap was that I either put on a bit too much product or sweat too much during the first 2 weeks of healing, so there's a teeny, tiny smudge of less-dark black on the tattoo.  Probably could have been avoided if I'd just sit still and been extra careful for that time period.If I get another tattoo, I'm going back to Three Kings for sure.  Well worth the expense (about $360, tip included). To start off, I gotten a consultation in with artist "Cal" today. He was a very chill guy, had many great ideas on what to do with my add-on tattoo. I would definitely recommend him if anyone wants to try out a tat. He works very fast and is accurate. The store was very roomy, small but comfy. The receptionist was exceptionally kind. One warning: THE PLACE DOES NOT TAKE CREDIT CARDS. Even though it was marked "Yes" on Yelp, upon walking into the store, they were preferred "cash only" but did have an ATM which was not working with the credit cards I had on me. Therefore I stood in the store for 30 minutes trying to call my credit card company asking why the card was not working and it was an entire scene. Cal was nice enough to allow us to venmo him but the situation altogether could have been eluded if they were more clear with their credit card policies online. Wanted to get a tattoo in NY and this place had good Yelp reviews and the work on the website looked promising so I found my way to Greenpoint for a walk in appt. My artist was great! I am happy with my tattoo placement and size. Price was a bit more than I expected but hipster Brooklyn comes at a premium. My only complaint was the cash only policy (that I don't think is applied across the board. I decided it was because I'm black cause I SWEAR I heard the receptionist tell another customer they take cards). Had to go to a questionable ATM down the street. Not cool bro...not cool. Read Less

Had my eyebrows done by Bethany!!  What a talented artist,  truly amazing at her craft!  She truly was the only person I ever considered getting microblading done with.  I trusted her judgement on what she thought would look best for me.  She was very gentle and attentive when it came to the actual procedure being done.  She was very clear on how to care for brows after procedure as well.  I strongly recommend that you schedule an appointment bc you will not be disappointed.  My brows look amazing and I am so glad I used Bethany Wolosky! Great place for getting tattoos! Awesome people all around.  Very good customer service. From the front desk -Caitlin is awesome! To the Artists - Jack and Karl. All are super friendly and down to earth folks that make you feel welcomed and at ease.We were walk-ins for the day around 6pm with minimal waiting. My 17 yr old unfortunately wasn't able to get his done as we have learned I that in NY you need to be 18. I got a beautiful tattoo yesterday by Minka Sicklinger. I first met with her a couple of weeks ago and described my idea, and went back a few weeks later for the tattoo. She showed me her drawing right before, and I was really happy with it - it was better than I had even imagined. She was extremely accommodating and the staff made sure I was comfortable, and I told her at some point that she had a very gentle touch. She's also fast, and incredibly precise. Before coming to Three Kings, I had never gotten a tattoo before. After looking around at different places and recommendations for quite a bit, I finally decided on this place based on the reviews I read and word of mouth.I was pretty nervous going in, since it was my first and I've never really thought I fit in with the ambiance of most tattoo places I've been to, however, as soon as I walked in I was immediately greeted with a big smile and even bigger "Hi!" from the receptionist. After some small talk, I asked if they were available for walk-ins to which she replied "Absolutely". After telling her what I wanted and giving her a reference photo, she introduced me to Jason Monroe. I wanted a script tattoo and I mentioned to Jason that the only thing I was pretty particular about was the font (I wanted a very flowy, journal-like style cursive). He asked me a few basic questions, gave me a quote and when I agreed, he said he'd draw it up for me and have it ready in a few minutes. Indeed, about 5-10 minutes later Jason brought me a drawing that I was very happy with, put the stencil on my skin and after figuring out which position of the tattoo was best, he got to work.I often have the tendency to become extremely chatty when I'm nervous, and this was no exception. However, Jason did a great job of answering all my (mostly silly) questions, while still remaining focused and never once made me feel like I was annoying him.The whole process took about 20 minutes to complete. I am very happy with how my tattoo looks. I've had it for almost a year now and it looks just as good as when I first got it. By far one of the better places to get tattooed in NYC.I've had many great pieces done here, both by resident artists and guest artists. Everyone here is clean and professional and really puts their time into making your tattoo look as good as possible. They have frequent guest artists which really makes this shop stand out.While the majority of the artists I've been tattooed by no longer work here, I've had too many great experiences in this shop to give it anything less than 5 stars. This is a top notch tattoo shop! That being said, the receptionist with the right leg completely tattooed is a gem, excellent communication and follow through with the scheduled appointment. Little history, I have had tattoos from several different shops. Never gone back because of poor the communication. Mat Moreno is a true professional and a excellent artist. His work is smooth and he knows how to ink and not gouge your arms putting craters in them. I am excited for my left arm sleeve after I do some more fill in on my right. Great experience. My group was in New York for a short visit from Canada and we made the right decision of coming into Three Kings. We took home the ultimate souvenir of a tattoo. The staff was as great and the art was superb. There were three people from my group whom got tattoos, all different designs, all exactly what we wanted.
