I had an EXTREMELY bad and traumatic experience at Tattoo Wonderland, which left me feeling very shaken and upset by how unprofessionally, aggressively and coldly I was treated. They were nice up until I left there, but when I had a problem with the tattoo 3 months later because it wasn't healing right, their true colors came out, resorting to ugly bullying tactics to get me to leave their store without offering to help me in any way, or to at least give me a private space to fully listen to my concerns. I first emailed them my concerns about the tattoo, and they then called me later that day and asked me to come in so that they could "help".  Anyone who has written a positive review about Tattoo Wonderland didn't have to come back for help afterwards. Instead of really listening to me and treating me like I "belong", like their business boasts, the owner, Christopher Danley, and two of his fellow artists, Sandra and Tim, ganged up on me in a small corner of the tattoo parlor as soon as I came in, prepared to show me any problem is my fault, when I all wanted was a willingness to help by just touching up some of the lines. They said all of these things without ever touching or examining the tattoo like I asked them to. For several years, I went in there often to visit before I was a customer, and they used my unconditional friendship, openness and vulnerability I've shown them throughout the years against me, implying, from spying on me on social media, that I must've scratched it, or that it was sun damaged, whereas many other professional artists clearly saw what was wrong in the work and just offered to touch it up, like I wanted. I was very nervous to come back in after Christopher Danley finished it, and now I know why.  I couldn't trust his motives, resorting to shaming, manipulation and bullying tactics to protect his ego and arrogant self grandiose image. He and his co-workers said things to cover themselves and not take responsibility for obvious physical problems and flaws in the design and execution of the tattoo. All I wanted from them was to feel like I still "Belong At Tattoo Wonderland", and that it wasn't all about getting my money and then getting rid of me for ever. In all my 48 years, I have NEVER written a bad review about anyone, but I felt they left me no choice. After how dehumanizing they treated me, I emailed them everything that I wrote here and they completely ignored me. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this business. Read Less

Talk about an overall amazing experience! I have gotten a couple of tattoos but this place really knows how to treat its clients. From A-Z this place makes you feel comfortable and relaxed and they have an array of artists that can pretty much do any design you can think of.I personally got to work with Timur Zakiev. He is one of the best when it comes to black and grey shading. He was able to do a cover-up while still perfecting every detail I was aiming for. I cannot wait to come back and work with him again!Also, all the workers their like to chat and get to know you so it really feels like you are joining their family. I called a bunch of different tattoo shops and artists in the city looking for an artist who could customize two script tattoos I was interested in getting. I stumbled across Tattoo Wonderland on IG and was interested in having Sandy (who is amazing with script/lettering) do my tattoo so I submitted an inquiry on their website. A day or two later Sandy gave me a call and was very kind and I was happy to meet with her to go over my ideas. When I went in, the shop was very colorful, vibrant, and clean. Sandy was open to my ideas and we scheduled a follow-up so I could view the tattoo before getting it done. I loved what she did and I gave her my feedback which she ended up incorporating so beautifully! The Saniderm (clear bandage they placed on me) was also awesome so my tat didn't rub against my clothes, etc.. As far as price, it was slightly over the budget I set for myself but they were great tattoos so I wasn't too mad. Tattoo Wonderland is an absolute gem in the tattoo community. I came in for their custom designed Friday the 13th flash, and have returned twice more. I've been tattooed by all three artists, and each one is so capable, and it is obvious that Chris, Sandy, and Tim all take great pride in their work. The shop is impeccably clean, and sterile. The owner, Chris, is so sweet and knowledgeable and really genuinely cares about each piece that is done in his shop. Everyone at the shop is super nice and professional at the same time. I rarely leave a review for anything but my experience there has to be known. I used to work side by side big name tattoo artists (not as an artist but a helper) and I have to say, aside from how well they keep their tools and stations sanitized, they also keep the shop pristine. Now for the real reason the shop is amazing is that every artist has their own style and is so dope in their own way of tattooing. Specifically Sandy, she’s the one who should be recognized but at the same time kept a secret because she’s wayyy too good at what she does. A couple of Sundays ago I spent my afternoon at Tattoo Wonderland. It was a really pleasant experience, my tattoo artist being Sandy Dex. Prior to getting the tattoo I met with her twice to go over what I wanted with samples I brought. She was great and super helpful about changing sizing and combining all the ideas I brought to her. The day I was tattooed she walked me through everything she was doing and opening new needles in front of me and constantly changing gloves. Overall, really professional and reassuring with how thorough everything was. With that, the shop has a fun atmosphere. The other artists were around and I could hear them talking with other clients. The people at Tattoo Wonderland want to give you something one of a kind, not just something off the wall that a thousand other people have. When I was done they had all the aftercare supplies I needed. I even got to try a new product they have, Saniderm. It’s like a plastic wrap that made the healing process really quick and it barely itched. I would definitely recommend this shop and working with Sandy Dex. My first ever tattoo experience, so I don't have any others to compare it to, but I would definitely recommend Tattoo Wonderland to anyone wanting a quality tattoo in a welcoming place!Upon my research on Yelp/Google, I decided to give this studio a shot and found some of Sandy's work to be similar to the piece I had in mind. I made a consultation with her and showed her some neotraditional/pointillism roses I wanted over a triangle background.Since I was new to all of this, I expressed my concerns to Sandy and explained how I didn't want a heavy/dark design. She talked through everything with me and we scheduled my tattoo session to be a almost a month after my consultation.A few days before my tattoo session, I had a design review with Sandy and was blown away! The design she created captured exactly what I was hoping for and more. She is truly an artist who is kind, thoughtful and funny to chat with! My tattoo was about 8 inches long and 6 inches wide on the top of my thigh. It took nearly 5 hours counting set-up/clean-up time. The shop was impeccable and clean and although some of the tattooing hurt more than I expected, Sandy helped the time fly. Aftercare included pieces of Saniderm I purchased which has made taking care of my tattoo so simple. to start this off, i live in harlem, a bit over an hour commute away from this shop, so the fact that i made an appointment here off an accidental walk in on friday the 13th intending to get a flash tattoo having never heard of the place and instead committed to a different full priced piece has to say something about how amazing the people and the vibe here is. i felt at home the second i walked in and began talking to everyone here, and would come back 100 times over and make the commute because this place is THAT worth it. I had a custom piece done by Chris, and even though we struggled to find images we liked during the consultation he took the time and energy to complete the search and design with the realistic details we discussed. When I came back for the appointment, Chris showed me his design and was all ears about final details and placement. It felt collaborative and professional. He explained all of the safety procedures to me before we jumped in. While tattooing, Chris did an excellent job keeping me entertained and in the loop on where we were in the process. Where do I start? I have been getting tattoos since 1999, in the US and in Europe, so I have seen quite a few tattoo parlors in my life. I can confidently say that tattoo Wonderland is by far the best tattoo experience I had. The place is very clean, from the tattoo artist's stationary to the restroom, everything is spotless. They are very welcoming and I felt comfortable at the shop. The decor and the ambiance were so nice. They have great customer service! Although I had reviewed and agreed on my tattoo prior to the session, once it was placed on my arm, there was something about it that I didn't like. Chris stepped in to help rework the design. It took them an extra 45mins but they figured out a way and I absolutely love it! Mind you, during this entire process -that can be quite stressful for both the artist and the client- they never made me feel uncomfortable. Chris explained that it was very important to them that I absolutely love my design, that it is MY design and there is no compromising on a tattoo. I wanted an iris tattoo and Chris quickly picked up on the style I was after and designed a beautiful custom piece that's even better than I expected. After my dog died last Fall, I knew that I wanted to get a tattoo in her memory.  After considering a bunch of shops in the NYC area, I decided on Tattoo Wonderland.  Tim was my artist.  I gave him several pictures of my dog, and he used them to make a beautiful composite sketch of her, which was the basis of the tattoo.  He did an incredible job with the ink itself - it came out better than I could have hoped for, and I'm totally pleased.  The artists at Tattoo Wonderland are just that - artists.  They are professionals who take their craft very seriously.  The shop is clean, pleasant, and inviting.  The quality of the work I received well justified the price, and I would definitely come back here for future work.Thank you, Tim, for creating a fitting tribute to my best friend that I will cherish for the rest of my life! I don't think I could have picked a better place for my first tattoo than Tattoo Wonderland! The whole process from my first consultation to tattoo day was a blast! As this was my first tattoo I was nervous about what to expect when I walked into the shop. What if the artists thought my idea was dumb? What if they were rude? All of these thoughts were wiped away once I met my artist Chris. His warm and friendly personality immediately put me at ease. As we went over the ideas I had for my tattoo I was happy to see that he was as excited about my tattoo as I was. His creativity and talent really helped elevate my ideas into a one of a kind beautiful piece that I now have the pleasure of carrying with me the rest of my life. The shop itself is very clean and organized. As I sat down to get ready for tattooing, Chris made sure to show me all of the tools and needles he would be using that day. Everything was individually wrapped and sterile. I felt safe that everything was clean and sanitized for my tattoo.  My boyfriend came along for support and as Chris tattooed my arm, the three of us chatted and joked for hours. It was like I was hanging out with a dear friend. I believe we were there about 6 hours but the time just flew by. I was having so much fun! At one point one of the artists Sandy offered me some candy to keep me going during the long day of tattooing. During one of my breaks Chris noticed I was getting a bit cold and pale and kindly brewed me some tea and gave me a granola bar to munch on. I really appreciated that they were looking out for me and ensuring that I was comfortable during the whole tattooing process. Great shop with very talented artists! I got to see all 3 of them in action and they are all very good and professional. The shop is very clean and the artists are meticulous about their space. You can tell that they want to make sure you walk out with an original tattoo that you will be proud of, and that's what you get! Just one thing I felt a little iffy about (sorry Chris!) is the mandatory after care product purchase, I have plenty of antibacterial soap and special lotion for tattoos and always appreciate a choice #trueravenclaw But of course I will be returning to Tattoo Wonderland (with a crew) because these guys rock. Tattoo Wonderland is an incredible shop with extremely talented artists! A few months before I went to Tattoo Wonderland I made a bad drunk decision and got an unplanned, unthought-out tattoo of a birdcage for my grandmother who had just passed away. The tattoo was much larger than I had anticipated and the work was uninspiring, to say the least.After months of being embarrassed by this tattoo I decided to search for the perfect artist to help in enhance, coverup, or fix my birdcage. Sandy was more than I could've asked for in an artist. She saw what was valuable to the core of the original tattoo and elevated it to something that even my grandmother would appreciate. Her line work is so amazing that people stop me on the street to look at it and give me compliments. Although the tattoo process was long, both Sandy and Timur made me feel extremely comfortable, always making sure I was hydrated and fed. At hour 5 of the session I was extremely hangry and didn't think I would last the rest of the session. Sandy gave me a granola bar that was massive and brought me back to life!  After this experience I will definitely be back for another tattoo again. I got a tattoo done here a few weeks back and can't believe I didn't submit this sooner. Nice spot, a little tight and intimate, but super clean, nice smelling, great music to keep you at ease, and hospitable with water and a keurig machine in case you want a chai as you get inked :) Sandy was awesome. Honest, flexible, and checked in with me for the 7 hours she worked on me. Great spot, highly recommend, and will be back. Be forewarned, It's not a walk in spot. You do come in for consultations and such, and you approve your art in advance, so getting an impulsive tattoo wouldn't really be an option here, but if you're looking for quality work in a clean space, close to home, then this is a great spot to keep in mind! But on the day of tattooing, 10 minutes before starting  I changed my mind  I don't know how  Chris could stay calm ( I would kill me.. because of me he lost the rest of work day ) , then Chris listened attentively what exactly I wanted to change and rescheduled appointment. I went and got my first tattoo from Tattoo Wonderland after coming to their shop a few times when my friends went in for tattoos. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming as is the staff made up of Chris, Sandy and Tim. I had Tim tattoo a snail sketch he had done for one of the shop's flash sale. He was taking great care to make the tattoo mirror his sketch and be a piece of work we could both appreciate and admire. Following this I proceeded to get two more tattoos from Chris in the following few weeks. Chris' attention to the needs of his clients and his workers is evident as you see his interaction with each individual. He takes his work very seriously and brought his vibrant personality to each session I went in for, even when he wasn't the one tattooing me. Chris wants to go above and beyond the needs of the client and provide them with pieces of work that will always look complete and really good. Prices are unreasonably high for the quality of work this shop gives. My third piece from Sandy has uneven/jagged line work, mediocre shading that doesn't fade or blend into the surrounding skin, and visible mistakes that were not corrected. I don't usually write reviews, but Tattoo Wonderland is a place everyone should know about. It is indeed a wonderful place!! They welcomed and treated me like family. My session was with Sandy and what an awesome time that I went back for two more tattoos three months later. She knew exactly how to put my ideas onto ink with her unique added touch to make my tattoos truely unique. During the sessions, she was clean, precise, and made sure I was comfortable. Chris is such an amazing artist and caring person. He created such an inviting and fun shop. His art has such great detail and takes the client's ideas to another level. Tim's art is like a mural getting painted to a human canvas. Now the shop, it's clean like Mr Clean. Watching the team clean before and after their sessions is how all stores should be cleaned. While the artists at the shop are friendly, they only seem to care about making a profit. On the phone I was told the consultation fee is 150, but in person charged almost 185 dollars, that is non refundable. I went in around 7pm and discussed a dandelion tattoo on my wrist and decided to pay the fee, under the impression I could alter the design due to the fact that the artist Tim said he would let me choose a picture for reference online the day of my tattoo appointment. However, when I called the next day, to change the dandelion tattoo to that of branches, Chris said my tattoo would total almost 600 because apparently Tim had been working on the design I wanted for two hours although it wasn't yet completed. How can you possibly work on a design, when you said you would let the customer choose it? I understand if it was a week later or the design was completed, but I already spent almost 200 dollars on a nonrefundable deposit. The least they should allow customers to do is alter their design. When I asked to speak with Tim directly, I was told I would have to make another consultation appointment of an additional 150, (which is actually 185). Which is way  out of my 400 dollar budget for a small wrist sized tattoo. If your looking for an expensive place to hand over your wallet to, then Tattoo Wonderland is for you. But I for one am not happy with this customer service. Read Less

This place is awesome!! I got 2 arrows on my back shoulder blade done by Sandy and she was quick and awesome.  When I arrived I was welcomed with a smile and great energy and also offered skittles.  The talent that these artists have is amazing.  My 2 other friends have gotten their tattoos here and it was a great experience for them.  I am looking forward to coming back and getting a few more add ons. Tattoo Wonderland has such a welcoming atmosphere. Chris did my tattoo, and the end result shows how much work and thought he put into the design. Truthfully, I haven't even gotten my tattoo here yet and I STILL would suggest fellow tattoo enthusiasts to come get their ink here!! My sister in law has been friends with one of the tattoo artists who works here since forever and we decided to check out their work. After having stalked her for a while on Instagram (@sandydex_tattoos), it's obvious that her and her team (@tattoowonderland) are amazingly skilled artists. Firstly, it sucked for us to have to drive an hour to go to this place, but it was SO worth the trip. A small and colorful shop in McDonald Ave in Brooklyn, the people working there are absolutely some of the friendliest I've encountered. A lot of times people go into tattoo shops very intimidated and weird not really knowing exactly what to say, but everyone who walked in there was greeted with a friendly smile. Being that we knew one of the artists (Sandra), made it easier to talk to the others. It IS a small store so I don't suggest you bring an entourage with you.THE SHOP: Clean, vibrant, and welcoming. The shop is covered with picture frames of beautifully drawn (I think?) pieces of pin up characters. From Disney princesses to candy skulls, they got it ALL. The equipment is also top notch sanitary (if that even makes sense). Watching Sandra prepare the work for my sister in law was comforting...knowing that the needles and equipment they use are sterile.THE ARTISTS: when I was there, Sandra, Chris, and Mira were there and they could not have been any friendlier. We were all in conversation with each other like we've know them for some time and any questions you had were answered in a professional manner without being scrutinized. They offered us crackers and chocolates while we waited and were extremely accommodating. I know I've gone into tattoo shops there being intimidated and given odd looks, but this is one place that will not make you feel awkward at all. THE PIECES: having seen the work a lot of them design and tattooed is amazing. Being that Sandy designed and tattooed my sister in laws, I can say Sandy is TALENTED. Her work is extremely clean and clear.  The intricate work of the design really brings out her style and the person individually. She's patient in her work and the way she explains step by step of what she's doing. It's a real relief for those getting their first tattoos (this was my in law's first). Of course the other artists there are just as amazing. There's a computer that shows the work that all of them do and you wonder why you couldn't have been given this talent to draw like these artists. I HIGHLY recommend Tattoo Wonderland to those around the area looking for a friendly and clean environment and AMAZING artists to consult with your design. I had the great pleasure of having Christopher Danley and Isaac Abrahamson work on an old tattoo, a tribal phoenix, that I had done four years ago and was looking faded and listless. Christopher started by coming up with a design that added movement and life to the tattoo. He then changed the color scheme so that it had what I always wanted, it is now true art that catches the eye. Christopher and Isaac are marvelous to work with, the shop is impeccable, and every time I have been there it is apparent that they demand of themselves the highest level of professionalism in their attitude, designs, and equipment.
