Did a walk-in tattoo in july 2018. Although the crew is very kind, i'm not satisfied at all. I asked for a black shape of Empire State Building as a souvenir from my trip to New York. It's been over 6 months now, the tattoo doesn't look very attractive. It's not sharp and has scars (probably the tattoo gun's needles were poked too deep). It's sort of tough to know where to begin with this review. All I can say is that I stood outside of the shop (was going to see if the team had availability for a walk-in) for about 20 minutes because I was so nervous to walk in. I think I had an unconscious bias that I wasn't "cool enough" or "tough enough" to walk in to a tattoo shop and just ask for a tattoo.It was the smiling faces and friendly demeanor of the artists inside (yes, I creepily popped my head in the window to try and muster up the courage to just open the damn door) that made me just go in. I was greeted, so incredibly kindly by Peter Vincent who was not only patient and made me feel comfortable being new to the shop and not sure that I was ready for my first tattoo but he was also so professional that I knew I was in good hands. I think we forget sometimes that a tattoo is also a medical procedure and the process Hand of Glory has in place really puts your mind at ease and makes you feel taken care of and very much safe.So lets get to the tattoo, Peter draws up what I was interested in, shows me and collects feedback from me (I LOVED it and didn't want to change a thing!) then kindly shared next steps through each phase of the process to manage my expectations and anxiety. I think there is a lot of impact in "I am going to do X now, it will take X minutes, then we will do X." Once he is all set up and ready to go, I walk back to a very welcoming (and I repeat, NON JUDGEMENTAL space!) and Peter directs me to our space and where I will lay down. Here I am, laying down with my pants down (tattoo ended up on my upper leg) in a space full of other artists and customers and yet I felt so incredibly safe. I think it goes without saying that there were no leering eyes or even so much as a glance that made an anxious person like me feel nervous. I truly loved that part of the experience.Tattooing is about to start, Peter talks me through the importance of breathing, how to make myself comfortable and of course, to let him know if I need a break. Somehow, once he started I didn't feel much pain at all. I was oddly so relaxed and so comfortable that I was more focused on that feeling rather than the feeling of the tattoo. It was obvious that I was in good hands and Peter really knew his stuff. Even though I didn't ask for it, Peter was thoughtful enough to ask if I needed a break and how I was feeling about halfway through. I was fine though so we kept on rollin!Tattoo is done! It is beautiful and perfect and everything I wanted and MORE. Peter gives me some privacy to get dressed and meets me up front to ask any questions I may have and pay. Again, an incredible transaction. Peter thoughtfully describes aftercare verbally, then provides me with a little card with aftercare directions, thanks me and shakes my hand. This place is immaculate!  I was impressed from the moment I walked in the door.  The "receptionist" who greeted my friend and I and took care of the "paperwork" was professional.  We came from LA to see the "David Bowie Is" exhibit.  This stop at Hand of Glory was to document our trip.  Jim Gentry did our tattoos and I just can't say enough positive things about him.  He was recommended by a friend of my friend.  We communicated via email before our visit and Jim had everything ready for us.  I was so impressed that he put so much thought into my plain design - Bowie lyrics with a lightning bolt and black star.  He had made stencils of a variety of sizes for me to choose from. He even blew up the bolt to be sure he had the details of it correct.  My friend got one of Jim's original designs - a hammerhead shark.  It turned out beautifully.  The color is exceptional.  She already had a number of other sea creatures, but the hammerhead is definitely a standout!  Jim has a light touch which made the procedure tolerable.  He also made us both feel at ease and we enjoyed visiting with him.  I just wish I lived closer!  I would definitely be back for more.  Really want one of his original designs. I decided to check this place out this past Sunday.  Love the look of the place.  The guy who works at the front desk was really friendly and helpful. He set me up with the the artist Paul Sackman.  Paul did an amazing job with my piece.  I asked for an American traditional eagle.  He hooked it up.  He was fast, friendly and really detailed out the eagle.  It's my favorite tattoo to date and I will definitely be returning here in the future for more work.  Love the atmosphere here. Very professional place with extremely talented and awesome artists. Had my first tattoo done last week at age 30 and I am already back for my second and third today. We are also currently working on the design for my fourth tattoo. I personally use Andre Juliani (I think that's how it is spelt, but it definitely pronounced like that) because he was the guy who did my first tattoo and I was certainly pleased at the experience and the work. This is the great tattoo studio!My husband bought a gift certificate as a Christmas gift for me. It was an awesome surprise. And I am so happy he chose this place for my first tattoo. I could write a Pulitzer Prize winning Yelp review about this place and it still wouldn't be enough. Dusty and the rest of the gang at Hand of Glory are respectful, welcoming, diligent, and creative to say the least. I worked with Dusty for a pretty sizable thigh piece and it turned out better than I could've imagined. I had a consultation to chat with him about the very vague ideas I had. When I say vague, I mean it. I literally sent Dusty a song and random desert images that spoke to me. He came up with a stunningly detailed and truly original work of art for me. During the tattooing process, he was very considerate of my comfort, always reminding me we could take breaks whenever I felt I needed it. I felt very comfortable with Dusty and around the whole staff. Considering I laid on a table with my butt exposed for about 8 hours, that says they're cool people. It had taken me more than 60 years, but I finally got my first tattoo. My daughter lives in Brooklyn and recently was tattooed by Dusty at Hand of Glory and she had me do the same as an early Christmas present. I've wanted to get a pinup tattoo for ages and since we were in town we made the trip to the shop. To be honest right until the last minute, I was ready to bolt for the door (wimp!). I came here with my partner to get tats. We both wanted birds. I heard the place was good from a friend and I also searched it up on Yelp. The guys were nice and my partners tat came out good, was what he wanted, but the one I got is soooo not quality work. I showed photos asked for a watercolor type tat. Wanted purples pinks bright feminine colors. I showed numerous photos. I think the artist honestly didn't know how to do one but proceeded regardless. I'm gonna get this tat covered up by somebody that knows how to do watercolor. Real shame. Don't say you can do something when it isn't in your range. Read Less

My first tattoo with these guys although I have been a customer of The End is Near for a while now.  I've had experience with 3 other tattoo shops, both in NY and Florida.  I believe I have found the place for me in these guys.  Highly processional, clean, talented and pleasant.  Appointment times and general timelines are adhered to, which is impressive.  Everyone's time is valuable! What an amazing experience I had at Hand of Glory Tattoo Studio! Me and my boyfriend were walk-ins, artists greeted us with warm welcome and after discussing the art work we were ready to be inked in no time. My artist Seagh Mulligan was creative, patient and very pleasant to sit with. He was very confident in his design and that made me feel assured as well. He finished the whole session in 1.5 which saved me some bucks (I was quite happy about that). I love my new piece and I would love to go back there at some point in the future. At the end, we took a picture for memories and which was pretty cool. 5-stars because of the services, prices and the results. Totally recommend this studio to everyone. If u want quality in a nice place, and not get robbed, go to Hand Of Glory Tattoo Studio !!! Clean, quality and works of art! They also host international tattoo artists as guests. They also have a sister piercing studio 2 blocks away called The End Is Near. They're super nice! Every time I pull my nose ring out for a job interview or something, they willingly, and gently replace it free of charge, and without an appointment! I usually buy a new stud to compensate them. Yeah, if I got this at some low-life place on W4 st, maybe I would pay tourist or college kid prices, but I did my research! Thanks Seagh Mulligan! I love it (good thing, it's permanent) never doubt a good Irish boy! he is a wonderful artist! I wasn't a walk in. I've been walking by Hand of Glory for about 2 years while I contemplated my next tattoo. A recent trip to India inspired me to get a lotus flower, so I brought a photo I had taken there and Ron Mor turned it into an awesome design. He also humored me - after some resistance - by turning it upside down so it oriented right-side up to me. Ron kept me totally relaxed throughout the process and the end result is fantastic: really colorful and vibrant, capturing the colors and spirit of India. I was shopping around for a place to get my first tattoo done when my sister suggested Hand of Glory. I looked into the shop itself and was impressed with all of their resident artists, as well as the reviews on Yelp.I walked in the next day to see if I could schedule a consultation with Ron Mor, one of their resident artists. The shop is immaculate and run very well; I was greeted by two very nice staff members who helped me get a consultation and appointment for that afternoon.  I met with Ron, who was incredibly nice from the start and more than willing to do my tattoo. He put my fears at ease and made getting my first tattoo not only a breeze but a great experience overall. Ron is a top-notch artist and it took him under a half hour to do my tattoo and it's absolutely gorgeous. While the tattoo I got is simple text, his other works (@ronmortattoos on Instagram) show his incredible talent for portraits and practically everything else you could think of. After the job was done, since my blood sugar was real low, he had me lay on the table for a little while, and gave me a piece of candy and a cup of water to help. After resting a bit, I went home with a beautiful piece of artwork on my arm. I researched many places to get my first tattoo. I checked several reviews and then decided to come here. Ron @ronmortattoos sat down with me & we had an excellent consultation. By the time we were done I was relaxed and there was no fear about getting the tattoo. I came back in about  30mns and I got this amazing tattoo. Yes, it's simple, yes it took less than 20 minutes. But it was such a cathartic moment for me. Ron was professional, had great music going and made sure that I was comfortable. I have gotten a couple of tattoos done here, both of them by Ron Mor. Most recently, I got a half sleeve done of an Eastern Asian style Dragon on my left upper arm. I was visiting the studio for a consultation that my wife had with him several months back, and I mentioned that I had been looking to get a dragon tattoo done for the longest time. Amazingly enough, Ron proceeded to show me a wide range of dragon art pieces that he had worked on, and they were all exquisite! Not sure if it's because I'm of Asian descent but I saw that his artwork showed a true connection to the cultural feeling behind the drawing (I hope that I'm making sense here, it's hard to explain!).After several visits spanning across a few months, Ron had finished my tattoo, and I'm totally in love with it. This was my first tattoo. I walked in with my daughter with no appointment. The girl at the desk was very nice. They took me right away. The artist came out to meet me and took the picture of what I wanted. My artist was Jim. Jim is a great tattoo artist. He was kind and very caring. He knew it was my first tattoo and he was very gentle and made conversation with me to keep my busy. I got a tattoo on the inside of my wrist. He was very gentle and honestly it didn't hurt. Jim did a great job on my tattoo. He made it a great experience for me and the design he did is exactly what I wanted with his spin on it. I love love love it. The studio is beautiful and very clean. I've been putting off writing this review as I know that whatever I write and however many stars I give will do this place no justice.  The people here are so friendly and helpful, and they constantly checked on me to make sure I was comfortable.  The shop is so beautifully kept; you get the artist-liar feeling without any sacrifices in cleanliness.I had just came from a nightmare in another shop and the people of Hand of Glory went above and beyond to make sure I got what I wanted.  They didn't have to, but they totally made up for the jerks I had to deal with.  The artists are all talented, but I ended up with a guest artist from Russia by the name of Alex.  I could tell that the design I wanted wasn't in his natural style, but we worked together until everything was perfect.I already promised them that I'd be going back for my next tattoo and I have every intention of keeping that promise.  Thanks guys! one of the best tattoo shops i've ever been to. if you're looking to get some new ink then this is the place to go. just looking at the artists portfolios you can tell how talented these people are. i've gotten two of my tattoos done here, both by louie ozomek. i came in for my first consultation with him back in March 2016 and just gave him a basic idea of what i wanted along with some reference photos, about a week later he emailed me the design he came up with and it defin...itely exceeded my expectations. when i went in to get the tattoo done louie made sure that i liked every detail of the sketch before going through with the session. the tattoo came out better than i expected and i've gotten so many compliments on it and i couldn't be happier with it. everyone's outgoing personality at the shop really makes you feel comfortable and at ease, which also makes for a great tattoo session. all in all, this is an amazing shop with amazing artists. I came to this shop last summer after reading about Becca Genne-Bacon from an article online. I wanted to get a tattoo redone on my ribs that, due to the pain, I was unable to finish. I told her that I wanted to add a hummingbird and more flowers, and she took the idea and ran with it. The shop was small, but impeccably clean. Everyone who worked there was really nice and fun to talk to. At one point during my tattoo session, I started to shake and Becca offered me chocolate, which I'm incredibly appreciative of.Becca is such an incredible artist to be able to take the mess of a tattoo that I had before and make it look a hundred times better. The price I paid was more than fair for the amount of work she did, and I'm hoping I can get back to her soon.Tip your artists people! Especially if they do a great of a job as Becca!! Read Less

I got a large tattoo at Hand of Glory Tattoo recently. It was a great experience. The artist took his time creating a custom design that I was happy with. I never felt like I was being sold something I didn't want. It is a comfortable, clean environment with an old school art gallery feeling. Everyone who worked there was cool and fun to be around. I looked forward to my sessions and I was sad to leave when my tattoo was finished. I could not be happier with my tattoo. It is perfect. I get compliments on it all the time.
