I took advantage of a groupon this shop had back in 20011/12. I got what I paid for - a low priced tattoo. Of all the ink work I've gotten done, the work I got here was the worst. I have since gotten most of it covered up. They aren't bad people. I just hated what was done on me and could not understand how a professional was happy with what was done. My husband and daughter decided to get a Memorial tattoo to honor their mom/grandma that passed away from pancreatic cancer. Bella and "Mr. Kaves" did a great job. They were so welcoming...the shop is great...lots of old time memorabilia to look at and the music playing was spot on. We also decided to visit "Brooklyn Fireflys" which is a restaurant that Mr. Kaves owns and we cannot stop talking about the pizza. We live 2 hours away and we are planning our next road trip to Brooklyn Fireflys...the food is great and the atmosphere is inviting. Busta Monte has hands light as a feather. I love this shop. Staff was very professional and nice. The shop is very clean and filled with art from today and yesteryear. My artist Busta did an amazing job. I had an old tribal tattoo on my chest I wanted covered up. We all know to cover a tribal not only takes skill but a real artist who can make it disappear as if it never existed. Highly recommend this place. I first walked in there after another guy ruined a fairly simple tattoo on my wrist. The lines were all crooked and my 4 year old could've done better. There was no way I could walk around like that. I walked in there hoping one of the artists could help me. Bella immediately grabbed a marker and started drawing on me. We set up an appointment and she fixed it with ease, giving it the detail and beauty it was originally intended to have. She then did a sick piece on my calf for my son. I wanted his name in baby block lettering. Bella worked to create the letters with every detail you'd see in a real wooden block. Her steady hand, experience, and artistic skills gave me another bad ass tattoo. Because I was there for several hours, I was able to also see kaves' work. The man is phenomenal. I watched him give life to a tat on a kid that was beyond help. He added details with the skill of a surgeon making a whack piece completely pop with vigor. The decor is also a plus. Each time I was in there I noticed different stuff. From the old school barbers pole to the black & white photos hanging. This place is dope as hell. Just visited Brooklyn Made Tattoo for the first time with my boyfriend, we both got Tatted and couldn't be happier.  Mr. Kaves did mine and Busta did my Boyfriends.This isn't our first tattoo's but can't imagine going elsewhere for another tattoo.  The shop has a vintage "old school" feel with the decor.  The prices for the work we received, was extremely reasonable.  We will recommend Brooklyn Made Tattoo to anyone interested in a tattoo!!! Got my very first tattoo here. Not only was the staff very supporting, friendly, and funny but Kaves (my tattoo artist) was an absolute gentleman and doll. He did an amazing job and his other work is spectacular. My mom who is very "anti-tattoos" saw my tattoo and actually didn't lecture me for it! She thought it was great and in 2 months wen to Kaves herself and got herself a tattoo! Absolutely amazing. If I didn't live so far away I would always go to them for my tats. I have been getting work done by Mr. Kaves since he first started tattooing years ago at his first shop Tuff City - Brooklyn Ink, when he was working in the back of his clothing store and current day in his awesome shop Brooklyn Made Tattoos.  Over the years Kaves has put in over 25+ hours of work on my body and all works were great collaborative experiences.  He did my entire back, my chest, collar bone, and stomach.  Some of which have been featured in magazines.  I had my most recent work done on 9/30/11 and it was as good an experience as any of the others.If you don't know about Kaves...he is a NYC art living legend and his talent and experience continues to grow.  No one does better NY cityscape than he does and his lettering is unique and second to none.  He also has his own style of doing characters and portraits.  His art is known and respected by some of the greatest artists in the world.If you want a one of a kind uniquely done piece of art inked on your body I highly recommend sitting down and talking with Mr. Kaves.  He'll take care of you.  He even looked me out big time when Freddy Negrete (very talented OG LA tattoo artist) was visiting his shop.  He knew I wanted a piece done on my left arm and Freddie was just the person to do it.  He opened his shop on his day off so I could sit with Freddie and get it done before I had to travel for work and miss out on that opportunity.I honestly can't say enough about the respect I have for his work and for him as a person. It has been awhile since I wrote a review, but this little gem in Brooklyn needs a shout-out for several reasons. One, it is a very orginal shop with a Brooklyn legend at the helm - Kaves, from "Lordz of Brooklyn" the 90's hip/hop group that is still on the scene. Anyway, besides awesome Brooklyn apparel and gear - Kaves is a fantastic artist, and tattoo artist. I just got a fantastic NY piece - and that really is the key to this place. It is authentic, awesome NY - and his tattoo art S-C-R-E-A-M-S Brooklyn authenticity - all original, great street scenes, graffitti style lettering and more. Of course like any tattoo shop I am sure he does flash, and what not. But don't go here for flash, go to this very clean, very nice, bright shop for a kick-ass, authentic NYC piece of art - by a legend of the hop/hop and graffitti scene.Check out the website for pics. The shop is very clean, he uses disposable needles, he is very cool, patient and makes you feel at ease. I have been tattooed 3 times before and Mike (Kaves) was a great experience. Of course the quality matters, and it is all there. Great lines, great technique. I know it is a bit far to travel for lazy manhattanites - you can go to the packed east village tattoo shops - but if you want an original piece, from an artist - get your ass to Bay Ridge.
