I went to House of Color because I heard a lot of good things about them, and they had good reviews, I got a few piercings in under a year by them. The latest was a forward helix, this is where it went to hell in a hand basket. Three days after I got it done I was swollen...more than what I thought was normal and I was having a hard time seeing the back of the bar. When I went in I was told it was just swelling and irritated - cut down on the H2Ocean use. When I asked about a longer bar I was told they didn't have longer and it was one size fits all, a red flag to me (everyone swells different). From twice a day go to once a day use. Give it two to three days and the swelling would go down. That night when I got out of work, and they were closed, I went elsewhere because the swelling and pain was worse. The guy at the other place wouldn't touch it, or me, and barely looked before saying he could see the backing. Tuesday night I was scared because the front of the jewelry was being surrounded by my skin, it was all flat and even which it hadn't been when done. It was sinking into the piercing. I spent Tuesday night up and down every two hours checking on it. I also, while up, checked out other places near me.Wednesday found me at another studio, a twenty minuet drive from me, and being told that i had pus oozing from the back and it was bad - really bad. It was infected. There was no saving the forward helix it was too damn short of a bar - way too short. He was shocked it was even used and equally shocked that they said it was one size fits all it was the only size, for a forward helix, they had. He drained the infection, which was a lot, told me to go to my doctor for antibiotics. When he got to looking at my two helix and my conch piercing, all done at House of Color, he said they weren't in straight. I'd been pierced at bad angles and it was why I'd been having my ears red for months and irritated - they were rubbing. When the piercings would move they were rubbing and causing friction and at bad angles it was causing the irritation. He said I'll always have some issues with them but we put in new, longer bars (cause they were too short as well), with better quality jewelry cause what was used was crap (the coating was flaking off into my piercings). So we're gonna try and keep my two helix piercings and my conch but my forward helix is lost and might even leave a small scar. The guy even mentioned the infection being bad and how close the ear and all is to the brain...scary shit. I'm on medication right now and it's still draining. I'm glad I went for another opinion and got taken care of. I'm glad I know the truth. While the people at House of Color are nice...they fucked up each of my piercings even if it's not in the biggest way, save for the forward helix. I'd have never known if this hadn't happened and I'm glad I know. I'm glad I found somewhere I can go and trust they'll do it straight and it'll heal right.

He did not disappoint and I knew he wouldn't. I have that much confidence in him.Very professional and respectful. He truly has a lifetime customer.

Disclaimer: I have only gotten piercings by Dani, I've never been tattooed here. Dani is without a doubt my favorite person to get pierced by. I have been coming to him to get piercings for years at this point. My first piercing he did was my septum. Now I've had this done before and i know what it feels like both to get it done and to get it done wrong... Thankfully Dani was able to be as gentle as possible when i asked him and the procedure went as painlessly as possible. I'm happy to say that after a period of five years I still have this piercing along with others, and I have not had any issues with them, mostly due to Dani's expertise and care. Not only is he an expert in his field, he has a great bedside manner and is able to calm any jitters one may have, whether they be new to piercing or an old hand like I am.

Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Went in for a hand tattoo over a year and a half ago and it was by far the worst decision I've ever made. Showed him the blue rose and asked for red tones instead, came out with that sad pink looking drawing. Absolute disappointment. Went to a different place a few months later in order to have it covered up with a bigger better rose and it was so bad there was not much helping it. ON TOP OF THAT, the new artist couldn't believe the amount of scarring that was left from the initial tatt. friend of mine asked for the same hand tattoo at a different place and got a tattoo that was actually identical to the photo. I was charged $300 for this bs. Currently in the process of getting laser to have it finally removed. Absolute waste of my time/money. Don't make the same mistake!!!!!

Do NOT go here if you're looking for a permanent makeup tattoo, as advertised on their sign outside the store. I had made an appointment With the owner, who supposedly was certified in permanent make up tattooing, which is quite different then regular tattooing. It was an older, biker man who appeared to be in his late 50s, but I figured if he's certified, he must know what he's doing so he's the professional. What a horrible experience. He clearly didn't know what he was doing, attempted to make symmetrical proportions, using a ruler and trying to make each side match, despite the fact that no one's face is perfectly symmetrical, thus leaving me with eyebrows that didn't look like they belonged on my face. Thankfully, everything he did ended up peeling off in about a week, and it ended up as though I didn't even have anything done. I called up the studio to complain, and he had me come back to have one of his employees, a female, re-do my eyebrows. She was not certified in permanent make up, but she at least did a better job in giving me the shape that I had asked for. Unfortunately, she was not experienced with the ink and how it changes over time, and I ended up with a tattoo that was far too dark and didn't fade as she said it would. I also noticed that the owner's licensing certificate on the wall was also expired. For as crappy of a job as they did, I absolutely blame myself for allowing that man to touch me despite clearly being unsure of what he was doing, and then allowing his employee to also work on me. Just one more customer who ends up with a crappy tattoo because they're afraid of insulting the artist.

Galgano did me and my cousins piercing. He is great and super friendly. What I like about him is that he is very knowledgeable about his craft and piercings. He thoroughly explained what we were getting, the risks, how to care for it, further explained to me why certain piercings tend to bleed more. That's what I appreciate in an artist.

I cleaned it twice a day with the sea salt I purchased from the store and a week later you could see a bump then it got infected. I'm sure the other workers there know how to do their job, just not Dani lmao.

She than had an attitude and said she couldn't do it for us now & why would we just walk into the shop & said we can make an appointment. Never asked anyone else in the shop if they were available & could do it. She really rubbed me the wrong way. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars was bc I came another time thank god she wasn't there. I was a walk in the girl took me right away & did an amazing job on my tattoo. Recently we thought we'd give the place another shot unfortunately when we walked in she was the only one there. She was in the back drawing. So the young man asked what I wanted I showed him the picture & he told me to go ask her. So I walked to the back showed her the picture & she just says "300". Nothing else. Didn't say when she can do it. Didn't ask me how I wanted & just had an attitude. Because of her & her nasty attitude I will never go there. I went to another shop to get the tattoo done & told him my experience with her & he told me I wasn't the only one. He's had a few people who came to his shop instead bc of her nasty attitude. Your putting something permanent on someone's body, you'd think she'd be a little more friendly lol. Her attitude is horrible.

After I told her that I wasn't here for a color tattoo, she then stated " right , because you're too tan " I felt this was inappropriate and completely unprofessional . I've had tattoos done before in places nearby and my skin tone in regards to color was never an issue. I just stated I was in for a tattoo and color was never brought up she just implied. Management needs to go over proper HR etiquette with employees I left feeling uncomfortable and turned off ....

I was in the area and growing impatient waiting for my date to get ready so OBVIOUSLY I decided to go and get a piercing while I waited! This shop was close by and got seemingly good reviews here so I decided to drop in. When I walked in there was no one to greet me so I just sat on a couch and wait since I heard some people getting tattooed in a booth closeby. I was greeted almost immediately by a sweet female staff member who handed me paper work to fill out and discussed pricing with me. She came to check on me just as I finished my application and I was seen right away. Dani did my piercing and he was great. He explained everything he was doing, and told me what to anticipate. Once it was over, he offered a cleaning solution they sold at the shop and I declined...but he also gave me advice on what to buy outside of the shop to avoid infection and help the healing process along. He handed me his business card and told me to contact him if I needed help with anything at all. I was in and out in about 30 minutes and back to waiting (yup, he still wasn't ready) for my date. It was a great experience, I love my septum piercing and I would go back to this shop (and Dani) for more!

Dani is very kind and professional. He's done most of my piercings in the past and never disappoints! Very clean facility. Would definitely come back again and recommend!

I came here to get my nipples pierced about a year ago by Dani. At first they were great and it was a lot less painful than I imagined. Dani was great at helping me through this and explaining aftercare, which I followed EXACTLY. Not only this, but the price was decent! $70 for both nipples. Then things got ugly really fast. I followed Dani's instructions on care, used H2 Ocean to clean it, which I bought directly from the tattoo shop. About a month later I developed a large red bump which was VERY painful on my right nipple where one of the piercing holes was. I rinsed it with salt every day but it only got worse. Shortly after I developed a slightly smaller one on my left nipple. I went to the doctor and they advised me it was not a keyloid, but both were very infected. They told me I needed to take them out immediately. I could not get them out myself, so I went to a nearby tattoo shop, Progressive Tattoo's in Lindenhurst. My mom gets all of her tattoos done here so they were happy to help me remove the nipple bars. Upon looking at them, the piercer told me that whoever did my piercings should have thier license revoked. Not only did Dani pierce my nipple, but he also caught a good amount of skin around my nipple (the areola part). The piercer said that despite my good aftercare, it was inevitable that ANYONE who had a bad piercing like these would get swelling and infection. I caution anyone looking to get a piercing here to beware. This was a horror story for me and I almost had to get minor cosmetic surgery in order to remove the horrible lumps on my nipples. Not only this, but I was in horrible pain for months prior to getting the jewelry removed. Luckily, after removing them the swelling went down. However, I am left with small scars on either side of both my nipples. I will never be coming back here.

I really wanted to like this place - My friend had gone here for her two tattoos here and was more than pleased with the outcome and the service, so I ventured away from my normal tattoo place to give them a try - My fiancé was out to get his FIRST tattoo - he wound up with two - roman numeral dates and a one letter on his wrist. The guy who helped us was not at all friendly - I get it, you're the emo tattoo artist, but when someone is getting their first tattoo - you can at least crack a smile. He wrote down the dates correctly and wound up forgetting a number when he did the actual tattoo...not the biggest deal, but when we went back 15 minutes after leaving the shop he told us we'd have to wait 30 minutes or come back the next day as he was starting someone else. All he needed to do was add a LINE! So after I pushed back again he took him right away - it literally took 15 seconds. He didn't even apologize...we were just lucky it was easily fixable! I've also noticed that the one small letter on his wrist has started to blow out - the obvious sign of an inexperienced tattoo artist and a real bummer. We'll wait to see how it heals and will have to go back to my regular guy to fix it up. People tattoo things that are important to them - more importantly they are permanent on their bodies - the artists should really be a bit nicer and know what they're doing. I would definitely skip this place in the future.

I used to go to tattoo Lou's to get all my piercings, but they were very pricy and all my piercings got infected! but then a friend told me to try house of colour out, so I did. I got my web pierced, and recently just got my rook pierced, and so far so good! dani did both of the piercings. It's not so pricey, I got my rook for 30$ and at tattoo Lou's I would've paid 45! House of colour is so extremely clean and professional, and they always make you feel comfortable. I'll defiantly be coming back for all my piercings!

And before that, he put in an even shorter barbell which hurt terribly and caused unnecessary trauma to the fresh wound. After taking it out (not very gently), he placed in a longer one which was STILL too short. For the next few days my cheeks were being SQUEEZED by the jewelry. I went to Dani two days after, asking about it. He told me it was fine. But I knew the wear room was way too short, so I went for a THIRD opinion from a piercer I heard great things about. First thing he said when he saw me was "They're uneven". He then was shocked by the length of the jewelry, and removed them for me.Overall, the artists there are VERY kind and sweet, but I was pierced with bad jewelry and it was uneven. Never going back.

Earlier in the day, I'd spent about an hour with another artist who felt the (simple) design I'd picked was too difficult and it wouldn't work. Which was fortuitous! I left and tried House Of Colour and had a FANTASTIC experience.The place is clean and the staff is SO friendly and accommodating. Sam worked really hard on getting the best images and clarity and positioning it, and even touched up my existing tattoo. My tattoo, the deer above, is perfect- clear, neat, precise. Pricing was very reasonable and the experience overall was just better than the setups everywhere else I'd looked today.Everyone seemed nice but I myself had a great experience with Sam and her work is fantastic!

House of Colour-- this place has a pretty interest choice of store placement. Next to what used to be a deli that now stands vacant, and a members only spa/gelato place. Oh Long Island.As for the store front itself. It looks to be one of the cleaner stores I've been. The store itself is well lit, plastered with Asian art and some tattoo t-shirts for sale...as well as the standard wall filled with tattoo designs for the people who wants a tattoo in the most basic form. The usual.What I like about this shop is given the choice of your tattoo, you have a great amount of privacy as each artist has divided rooms and curtains when necessary. The artist who had done my tattoo session was Aja. My design was of a skull and lotus and I am impressed with the work she had done; it was a 3x3 mostly black and a hint of purple, which she had charged me 200 dollars. Despite the small size, I felt like the price was amazing for the amount of design Aja put into it.Definitely worth going back again, thanks Aja!

I went to House of Color because I heard a lot of good things about them, and they had good reviews, I got a few piercings in under a year by them. The latest was a forward helix, this is where it went to hell in a hand basket. Three days after I got it done I was swollen...more than what I thought was normal and I was having a hard time seeing the back of the bar. When I went in I was told it was just swelling and irritated - cut down on the H2Ocean use. When I asked about a longer bar I was told they didn't have longer and it was one size fits all, a red flag to me (everyone swells different). From twice a day go to once a day use. Give it two to three days and the swelling would go down. That night when I got out of work, and they were closed, I went elsewhere because the swelling and pain was worse. The guy at the other place wouldn't touch it, or me, and barely looked before saying he could see the backing. Tuesday night I was scared because the front of the jewelry was being surrounded by my skin, it was all flat and even which it hadn't been when done. It was sinking into the piercing. I spent Tuesday night up and down every two hours checking on it. I also, while up, checked out other places near me.Wednesday found me at another studio, a twenty minuet drive from me, and being told that i had pus oozing from the back and it was bad - really bad. It was infected. There was no saving the forward helix it was too damn short of a bar - way too short. He was shocked it was even used and equally shocked that they said it was one size fits all it was the only size, for a forward helix, they had. He drained the infection, which was a lot, told me to go to my doctor for antibiotics. When he got to looking at my two helix and my conch piercing, all done at House of Color, he said they weren't in straight. I'd been pierced at bad angles and it was why I'd been having my ears red for months and irritated - they were rubbing. When the piercings would move they were rubbing and causing friction and at bad angles it was causing the irritation. He said I'll always have some issues with them but we put in new, longer bars (cause they were too short as well), with better quality jewelry cause what was used was crap (the coating was flaking off into my piercings). So we're gonna try and keep my two helix piercings and my conch but my forward helix is lost and might even leave a small scar. The guy even mentioned the infection being bad and how close the ear and all is to the brain...scary shit. I'm on medication right now and it's still draining. I'm glad I went for another opinion and got taken care of. I'm glad I know the truth. While the people at House of Color are nice...they fucked up each of my piercings even if it's not in the biggest way, save for the forward helix. I'd have never known if this hadn't happened and I'm glad I know. I'm glad I found somewhere I can go and trust they'll do it straight and it'll heal right.

Disclaimer: I have only gotten piercings by Dani, I've never been tattooed here. Dani is without a doubt my favorite person to get pierced by. I have been coming to him to get piercings for years at this point. My first piercing he did was my septum. Now I've had this done before and i know what it feels like both to get it done and to get it done wrong... Thankfully Dani was able to be as gentle as possible when i asked him and the procedure went as painlessly as possible. I'm happy to say that after a period of five years I still have this piercing along with others, and I have not had any issues with them, mostly due to Dani's expertise and care. Not only is he an expert in his field, he has a great bedside manner and is able to calm any jitters one may have, whether they be new to piercing or an old hand like I am.

Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Went in for a hand tattoo over a year and a half ago and it was by far the worst decision I've ever made. Showed him the blue rose and asked for red tones instead, came out with that sad pink looking drawing. Absolute disappointment. Went to a different place a few months later in order to have it covered up with a bigger better rose and it was so bad there was not much helping it. ON TOP OF THAT, the new artist couldn't believe the amount of scarring that was left from the initial tatt. friend of mine asked for the same hand tattoo at a different place and got a tattoo that was actually identical to the photo. I was charged $300 for this bs. Currently in the process of getting laser to have it finally removed. Absolute waste of my time/money. Don't make the same mistake!!!!!

Do NOT go here if you're looking for a permanent makeup tattoo, as advertised on their sign outside the store. I had made an appointment With the owner, who supposedly was certified in permanent make up tattooing, which is quite different then regular tattooing. It was an older, biker man who appeared to be in his late 50s, but I figured if he's certified, he must know what he's doing so he's the professional. What a horrible experience. He clearly didn't know what he was doing, attempted to make symmetrical proportions, using a ruler and trying to make each side match, despite the fact that no one's face is perfectly symmetrical, thus leaving me with eyebrows that didn't look like they belonged on my face. Thankfully, everything he did ended up peeling off in about a week, and it ended up as though I didn't even have anything done. I called up the studio to complain, and he had me come back to have one of his employees, a female, re-do my eyebrows. She was not certified in permanent make up, but she at least did a better job in giving me the shape that I had asked for. Unfortunately, she was not experienced with the ink and how it changes over time, and I ended up with a tattoo that was far too dark and didn't fade as she said it would. I also noticed that the owner's licensing certificate on the wall was also expired. For as crappy of a job as they did, I absolutely blame myself for allowing that man to touch me despite clearly being unsure of what he was doing, and then allowing his employee to also work on me. Just one more customer who ends up with a crappy tattoo because they're afraid of insulting the artist.

Galgano did me and my cousins piercing. He is great and super friendly. What I like about him is that he is very knowledgeable about his craft and piercings. He thoroughly explained what we were getting, the risks, how to care for it, further explained to me why certain piercings tend to bleed more. That's what I appreciate in an artist.

I cleaned it twice a day with the sea salt I purchased from the store and a week later you could see a bump then it got infected. She than had an attitude and said she couldn't do it for us now & why would we just walk into the shop & said we can make an appointment. Never asked anyone else in the shop if they were available & could do it. She really rubbed me the wrong way. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars was bc I came another time thank god she wasn't there. I was a walk in the girl took me right away & did an amazing job on my tattoo. Recently we thought we'd give the place another shot unfortunately when we walked in she was the only one there. She was in the back drawing. So the young man asked what I wanted I showed him the picture & he told me to go ask her. So I walked to the back showed her the picture & she just says "300". Nothing else. Didn't say when she can do it. Didn't ask me how I wanted & just had an attitude. Because of her & her nasty attitude I will never go there. I went to another shop to get the tattoo done & told him my experience with her & he told me I wasn't the only one. He's had a few people who came to his shop instead bc of her nasty attitude. Your putting something permanent on someone's body, you'd think she'd be a little more friendly lol. Her attitude is horrible.

I've had tattoos done before in places nearby and my skin tone in regards to color was never an issue. I just stated I was in for a tattoo and color was never brought up she just implied. Management needs to go over proper HR etiquette with employees I left feeling uncomfortable and turned off ....

I was in the area and growing impatient waiting for my date to get ready so OBVIOUSLY I decided to go and get a piercing while I waited! This shop was close by and got seemingly good reviews here so I decided to drop in. When I walked in there was no one to greet me so I just sat on a couch and wait since I heard some people getting tattooed in a booth closeby. I was greeted almost immediately by a sweet female staff member who handed me paper work to fill out and discussed pricing with me. She came to check on me just as I finished my application and I was seen right away. Dani did my piercing and he was great. He explained everything he was doing, and told me what to anticipate. Once it was over, he offered a cleaning solution they sold at the shop and I declined...but he also gave me advice on what to buy outside of the shop to avoid infection and help the healing process along. He handed me his business card and told me to contact him if I needed help with anything at all. I was in and out in about 30 minutes and back to waiting (yup, he still wasn't ready) for my date. It was a great experience, I love my septum piercing and I would go back to this shop (and Dani) for more!

I came here to get my nipples pierced about a year ago by Dani. At first they were great and it was a lot less painful than I imagined. Dani was great at helping me through this and explaining aftercare, which I followed EXACTLY. Not only this, but the price was decent! $70 for both nipples. Then things got ugly really fast. I followed Dani's instructions on care, used H2 Ocean to clean it, which I bought directly from the tattoo shop. About a month later I developed a large red bump which was VERY painful on my right nipple where one of the piercing holes was. I rinsed it with salt every day but it only got worse. Shortly after I developed a slightly smaller one on my left nipple. I went to the doctor and they advised me it was not a keyloid, but both were very infected. They told me I needed to take them out immediately. I could not get them out myself, so I went to a nearby tattoo shop, Progressive Tattoo's in Lindenhurst. My mom gets all of her tattoos done here so they were happy to help me remove the nipple bars. Upon looking at them, the piercer told me that whoever did my piercings should have thier license revoked. Not only did Dani pierce my nipple, but he also caught a good amount of skin around my nipple (the areola part). The piercer said that despite my good aftercare, it was inevitable that ANYONE who had a bad piercing like these would get swelling and infection. I caution anyone looking to get a piercing here to beware. This was a horror story for me and I almost had to get minor cosmetic surgery in order to remove the horrible lumps on my nipples. Not only this, but I was in horrible pain for months prior to getting the jewelry removed. Luckily, after removing them the swelling went down. However, I am left with small scars on either side of both my nipples. I will never be coming back here.

I really wanted to like this place - My friend had gone here for her two tattoos here and was more than pleased with the outcome and the service, so I ventured away from my normal tattoo place to give them a try - My fiancé was out to get his FIRST tattoo - he wound up with two - roman numeral dates and a one letter on his wrist. The guy who helped us was not at all friendly - I get it, you're the emo tattoo artist, but when someone is getting their first tattoo - you can at least crack a smile. He wrote down the dates correctly and wound up forgetting a number when he did the actual tattoo...not the biggest deal, but when we went back 15 minutes after leaving the shop he told us we'd have to wait 30 minutes or come back the next day as he was starting someone else. All he needed to do was add a LINE! So after I pushed back again he took him right away - it literally took 15 seconds. He didn't even apologize...we were just lucky it was easily fixable! I've also noticed that the one small letter on his wrist has started to blow out - the obvious sign of an inexperienced tattoo artist and a real bummer. We'll wait to see how it heals and will have to go back to my regular guy to fix it up. People tattoo things that are important to them - more importantly they are permanent on their bodies - the artists should really be a bit nicer and know what they're doing. I would definitely skip this place in the future.

I used to go to tattoo Lou's to get all my piercings, but they were very pricy and all my piercings got infected! but then a friend told me to try house of colour out, so I did. I got my web pierced, and recently just got my rook pierced, and so far so good! dani did both of the piercings. It's not so pricey, I got my rook for 30$ and at tattoo Lou's I would've paid 45! House of colour is so extremely clean and professional, and they always make you feel comfortable. I'll defiantly be coming back for all my piercings!

Fernando pierced my cheeks and he was a really sweet guy, but... He left me little to no room for swelling with the jewelry. And before that, he put in an even shorter barbell which hurt terribly and caused unnecessary trauma to the fresh wound. After taking it out (not very gently), he placed in a longer one which was STILL too short. For the next few days my cheeks were being SQUEEZED by the jewelry. I went to Dani two days after, asking about it. He told me it was fine. But I knew the wear room was way too short, so I went for a THIRD opinion from a piercer I heard great things about. First thing he said when he saw me was "They're uneven". He then was shocked by the length of the jewelry, and removed them for me.Overall, the artists there are VERY kind and sweet, but I was pierced with bad jewelry and it was uneven. Never going back.

Just had my belly button pierced and couldn't be happier with my experience. Everyone is friendly and very professional, shop is very clean an organized. I can truly recommend this place.

Today I went to like, at least five places and House Of Colour was my last stop. I am SO GLAD this is where I got my tattoo!Coincidentally, I saw Sam, who had done my first tattoo when we were both teenagers. Earlier in the day, I'd spent about an hour with another artist who felt the (simple) design I'd picked was too difficult and it wouldn't work. Which was fortuitous! I left and tried House Of Colour and had a FANTASTIC experience.The place is clean and the staff is SO friendly and accommodating. Sam worked really hard on getting the best images and clarity and positioning it, and even touched up my existing tattoo. My tattoo, the deer above, is perfect- clear, neat, precise. Pricing was very reasonable and the experience overall was just better than the setups everywhere else I'd looked today.Everyone seemed nice but I myself had a great experience with Sam and her work is fantastic!

House of Colour-- this place has a pretty interest choice of store placement. Next to what used to be a deli that now stands vacant, and a members only spa/gelato place. Oh Long Island.As for the store front itself. It looks to be one of the cleaner stores I've been. The store itself is well lit, plastered with Asian art and some tattoo t-shirts for sale...as well as the standard wall filled with tattoo designs for the people who wants a tattoo in the most basic form. The usual.What I like about this shop is given the choice of your tattoo, you have a great amount of privacy as each artist has divided rooms and curtains when necessary. The artist who had done my tattoo session was Aja. My design was of a skull and lotus and I am impressed with the work she had done; it was a 3x3 mostly black and a hint of purple, which she had charged me 200 dollars. Despite the small size, I felt like the price was amazing for the amount of design Aja put into it.Definitely worth going back again, thanks Aja!
