Unfortunately, I did not have a great experience at High Voltage. My friend and I came in for piercings, and we weren't greeted as if were welcomed, but rather we were a nuisance to them. One of the piercers came up to the counter, and I said that I'd like a nostril piercing. She gave me the paperwork to initial and sign. On the paperwork was consent that I received education and fully understanding the process of the piercing, aftercare, etc. I had yet to receive this information, so I asked if she could share this information with me, and with and attitude she said "We do that at the end". I work in healthcare and have patients sign consents all the time, and make sure I explain everything before a consent is sign, so her response was opposite to what I expected. I turned to my friend, and we both looked at each other thinking, 'should we even stay here or go somewhere else?'. We decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and stayed. Once I sat down for the piercing, she did explain the device she was going to use and then pierced it. My nostril instantly started gushing with blood, and continued to bleed heavy to moderate for two days following. When I went to pay, the piercer handed me a half sheet of paper with aftercare instructions. I asked if she could give me some more tips, and she said to keep twisting it, and that it's all on the paper. (By the way, never twist your newly pierced nostril piercing. It can only increase the risks of introducing bacteria causing infection. Luckily, I knew this information). I was very upset that barely any education was even done. The bleeding stopped about two days later, and on and off light bleeding for a week. About a week later, while at work, but nose started bleeding heavily out of nowhere. It was about 15 minutes, and I couldn't get it to stop. I called High Voltage, and was told that they have never heard of that happening and maybe I should just increase my diet in vitamin K. Not once did they say, hmm maybe you should come in and we can take a look. No assessment of the actual issue. I left work early, went to a reputable parlor in Buffalo, and was blown out of the water with their level of expertise, kindness, and professionalism, which I did not receive at High Voltage. They assessed my nose and said the needle used to pierce was too big, and the stud was to small. The piercer there talked to me for a good amount of time explaining the aftercare instructions I received were incorrect, and gave me thorough instructions on how to care for my piercing that will not damage my skin further, or introduce new infections. From then on, they told me to keep checking in with them as much as I want, free of charge. I wish I would have went to this parlor from the start.Lesson learned, do you research before getting your piercings and such done, and talk to people who've been there before about their Read Less
