Rain did this AHMAZING microscopic tat- the details are MIND BLOWING. The crisp lines, the concept, the shading- OMG IT'S EVERYTHING I WANTED AND SHE'S SO FAST. It's also a one-of-a-kind-she's-said-she'll-never-be-doing-it-again so I feel EXTRA special! Didn't even feel the needle- her lyrical voice soothed me right into a trance-like state of pure ecstasy. Getting my first tattoo was a very big deal for me as it may be for anyone else, So I was doing a lot of research on places to get my tattoo done. I saw a lot of shops and their work, and body language tattoo does not compare to any of them. (I also found the shop in an episode of orange is the new black lol) They have a diversity of different artists and styles which I absolutely love. I personally love the black and grey style and saw that Carlos specializes in black and grey. I had messaged him through social media discussing tattoo ideas in which he helped personalize. I scheduled an appointment through the phone and since it was my first tattoo I obviously had a lot of questions so I asked the receptionist who was super kind to patiently walk me through the process of how and what I should do. On the day of my appointment, everyone at the shop was super welcoming, great and non-intimidating atmosphere. Carlos went over the design which I completely loved. I explained my concerns of it being my first tattoo and how I felt nervous and he talked me through it, and i felt better seeing that everything was completely new (razors, needles etc.) he also assured me that if I ever needed to take a break just to let him know. He was super nice throughout the process and made my first tattoo experience great. He explained the after care to, which I followed and healed pretty quickly. This place is the besssttttt!  I've been to four shops now and this was / is by far the most friendly.  From my  consultation to my appointment: every step was so efficient and easy. They send emails and texts (but not too many) with confirmation and details leading up to the appointment.  Once again - friendly is the key word to me.  I've had other nice experiences but this one stands out mostly because I didn't sense any ego in the shop.  Feels like everyone  is there to do a job, loves tattooing, and doesn't take themselves too seriously.  Can't wait for the next ten!!! Oh and it's perfect because I can walk.  I feel like it's the best kept secret.  Carlos is a king!!!!!  The tattoo was quick and pretty pain free and ten times better than I even wanted. I'm not a big review writer on here, but I had such a good experience at Body Language that I wanted to let everyone know about it! I worked with Nasa. I came in with a piece of artwork that I loved, and she brought it to life in a way that made it unique and bright for me while still maintaining the feel and structure of the original piece. She consulted with me on colors and really listened to my feedback when creating the final design. The piece had a great deal of thin lines, and her line work and colors are stunning.Everyone at the shop was great about setting up appointments, sending regular reminders, and making sure I had a positive experience. My experience in this shop was 100% positive. Tim was my artist, and he did an awesome job. I'm sooo happy with my tattoo. Tim, thank you very very much my man. I will see you in our next appointment. Communication is something very important for me for many reason. Tim was really good with Communication, he answered really fast and always answered my questions with passion. This guy knows what he is doing definitely. While I was tattooing, I saw the work of a couple artists one was Carlos and I guess the other was Nicole, and let me tell you something, this guys are no messing around. Lol. The artist was extremely talented and loved the artwork she did on my arm. The only problem was her extending her time on purpose to charge me more by the hour. She finished my rose within less that 30 minutes and said that was quicker than expected then processed to do my other rose for a full hour while talking on the phone so I could be charged more. Fantastic female artists, helpful, friendly, and skilled. Their prices are affordable, and the location is accessible to public transportation and meter parking. I’ve personally gotten over 20 hours worth of tattoos over the past 6 years in this shop. All of my tattoos are in tact in terms of color and shading. Most importantly there’s never been any ink spread (which is VERY impressive). Nicole runs a very professional yet comfortably fun environment. She’s always involved with her customers, getting to know them and building a genuine relationship. There’s always nice music playing or a good movie to watch during your session. She’s very festive with her shop during Halloween, art shows, and the shops anniversary. She always invites her fellow neighbors to celebrate and enjoy whichever entertainment she has hired for the event. Every Black Friday she offers store discounts on her hourly rate. Also, every year I receive a happy birthday message from Body Language Tatoo. You cannot get more involved than that. I've gotten tattoos at other spots before but Body Language Tattoo by far is my favorite. I met Nicole a while ago and instantly became a fan of her art and style so it was easy to go when the shop first opened up. I was excited to get my first piece, and super happy with it. Since then have been going periodically whenever I can spare the money, and happy EVERY time I leave the shop. And in doing so, met a bunch of other great artists as well. They all have their own individual style so any newcomers have a nice selection of the particular type of style they'd like. As a newbie to the tattoo world, I was both excited and anxious about getting my first/second tattoo. (I got a small triangle on either side of my ribs.) My roommate and I both got tattoos last night, our tattoo artist being Carlos. Soft-spoken and sweet, Carlos made us feel at ease through the whole process. I appreciated his precision in ensuring the lines were straight, the image was centered and everything was cleanly prepared. Above all, Carlos had a good sense of humor. The artists at this shop are amazing. I just got my 3rd tattoo from So Yeon yesterday and, as usual, it was perfect. It was a memorial piece of my two pups that died earlier this year and I was so happy with it. Memorial pieces are rough, especially of pets, but it came out better than I could have asked for. I came to this tattoo shop a few years back and my experience was great, I recommended my friend to go recently and her experience was much different due to certain circumstances. This situation has left me feeling a bit torn. However, I will be reaching out to the shop shortly since I have been planning to get more tattoos, and I've only trusted them to do the job right. I'm not writing this review in regards to the shop, but more so, to address Ms. Kaite M.; For your information, I am the friend that was on my way to pick up Emma Lee's son when her babysitter cancelled at the last minute. While on my way, Emma spoken with whomever and it didn't seem to be handled in an empathetic manner. When you have children, things come up and as mothers, we do our best to adjust and accommodate. And it seems to me that you, Ms. Kaite, may need further management training and learn to be more empathetic and less judgmental of others. There was no need for you to be disrespectful to someone who is simply explaining the situation, accepting her faults and sharing her experience. Your review lacked professionalism, especially for a manager. The crazy thing is, you were being disrespectful to another manager. Nevertheless, you could have defended the shop without being facetious. Also, I'm sure you can see the owner has already addressed her in regards to the situation. She obviously did not wish to go back to the individual who did her previous tattoos which is why I recommended her to go to BLT. And as she stated, an exception was done for me at one point with my child, so just because you do not see it, does not mean it doesn't happen nor does it make BLT unprofessional but shows they are accommodating under certain circumstances as I viewed it. From one manager to another, I recommend you do not throw rocks when you live in a glass house, nor should you make assumptions or judgements on others before you make an ass of yourself in the future. I was recommended this tattoo place y my best friend who got a cover up done by the owner. I came in to get more information and decided to book an appointment. I placed $100 deposit down for my tattoo and was informed that if I cancel with less than 2 days notice I will lose it. Well, I showed up the day off my tattoo and my son because my babysitter was a no show. They curtly (was very short and rude with me) explained that for safety and security reasons he couldn't be here. I completely understood and try to explain my circumstance. I explained that my best friend got her's done here by the owner who allowed her daughter to be there but my son couldn't. As if my son was a bad kid - he has been there are my last 7 tattoos at previos locations and has NEVER ran around or gotten up. I had no problem to reschedule until they wanted to tell me that even though I showed up and was ready to be tattooed, I lost my deposit and needed to give them yet another $100 because of a misunderstanding. If my best friend came to this same place and got her tattoo done WITH her daughter, why would I think it was such a big problem for me\? They tried to "hit me with the rules" but openly admitted to bending them for customers they felt like. I will never come here again and the 5 people I had lined up for them plus the other 3 more tattoos that I had ready to bring business is now going to someone else. I understand the policy and I was willing to pay for my tatt but their lack of customer service, people skills, and unwillingness to work with me shows me how money hungry these people really are!!! I am new to NYC, but not new to tattoos. I had no idea where to go, so I visited four or five shops in Astoria,  browsed endless portfolios, and interviewed several artists. Ultimately,  I had the pleasure of working with Carlos on a custom piece. All I can say is wow, this guy is a pro. I am not artistic at all, but he took my idea and ran with it. His line work and shading are phenomenal and you can tell he takes great pride in what he does. It was really cool seeing my concept turn into a lifetime piece. I want to say good things,I went here in February for my sons name and a Usa flag. Huge gouges in my arm and poor work, I wish the Russian girl did my tattoos . The gouges took 2 months to heal.I still think overall this is a good tattoo shop and I have since speaking to ownership recommended people to go here. My mom and I wanted matching tattoos where we got "You are my sunshine" and "my only sunshine." It was my moms first tattoo and my third but I have never experienced such a good shop experience. First off, the shop is spotless. Before tattooing our artist (Nasa) took the time to clean everything and wrap anything she was going to touch. She then talked to us about fonts, placement, sizing. We began and she was so patient, giving you plenty of time to breathe and tattooed slow so you have room for some movement. It came out great and we loved it.
