By far the best tattoo studio i've ever been to. I had gotten one tattoo prior to finding Empire and once I found Empire I will not be going anywhere else for all of my future tattoos. Brittany is amazing, she's so sweet and makes you comfortable while you're there. The place is so clean and all of the artists there are the kindest people you'll ever meet. I have gotten 2 tattoos done by Brittany and I'm planning on coming for another very very soon. I will keep recommending Empire to everyone looking for a tattoo shop. Hands down the best place ever. It has been over 10 years since I last got a tattoo at Empire. When I arrived, I was put in touch with Jared, and we discussed what I wanted. After a while we came to a consensus. We decided I would return in a few days to see what he sketched. So happy I found this place! I recently got a piece on my shoulder from Jared and it's absolutely stunning. I couldn't be happier with it. I went in for a consult and gave him a few ideas of what I wanted and he was super receptive and threw in some suggestions that ended up being fabulous. I love that all the artists have other mediums, as well. They're really in it for the right reasons, not to just bang out generic pieces that you could get at any shop. Everyone's really friendly and outgoing, too. My first time in, Tommy came over and thanked me for coming in and we chatted for a couple of minutes. It made the experience so much better that I was joking and laughing with the artists instead of lying there focusing on the pain for three and a half hours. Highly, highly recommend the studio. I was itching for a new tattoo and Empire was recommended by a friend so I decided to check it out. Upon my first visit I was truly taken of how beautiful the studio is set up; super clean and airy with interesting decor and cool easy going staff. I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Marvin Silva! Amazing artist and person. I had so many ideas and he worked patiently with me so that we curated all my interests into one piece. His line precision was unmatched and I really love how everything was later shaded. All the artist at Empire are amazing but I'm very glad that I was able to able to work with Marvin. Best tattoo shop out there! I love the energy there, brother. Everyone makes you feel really comfortable and no problem bringing my dirty pants. Thank you Tommy and everyone I had the pleasure of meeting at Empire State Studios!!! I have looked and visited shops all over my home town and some beyond and this studio by far is my top tier shop. I walked up a narrow stairway into a brightly lit, colorful, and one awesome spaced studio filled with friendly artists with smiles and art that can be seen from any part of the studio. I talked to the studio manager Tiera the day before and she was more then helpful to answer any questions that popped into my brain. I also go to meet Tommy Helm himself and I couldn't stop geeking out! He is super friendly and was more then accommodating to shake my hand and give me a hug. If you want a tattoo and a new artist who is friendly and will make your experience just all around awesome weather it's your first tattoo or not, this crew will not disappoint. I flew into NY from Minnesota for the main purpose of getting tattooed.  I was fortunate enough to have an appointment with previously scheduled with Marvin Silva... one of the finest artists and all around coolest people I have ever met.Marvin worked with me on my concept and came up with a design that far exceeded my expectations.  I sat for 2 consecutive days as he worked on my sleeve.  I couldn't be happier with my tattoo and my time at the shop.In addition to remarkable tattooing, the shop has a very cool atmosphere and the gallery space was filled with great pieces from various mediums. Shop manager Jeff was also playing some killer music so it was very comfortable during my sessions.  I was watching the other artists at work during my sessions and everyone in this shop is very skilled and brings their originality to the table.  I witnessed a lot of great work.If you are looking for a top shelf tattoo from some genuinely great people, look no further than Empire! By Far, the BEST tattoo shop on Long Island. Each Tattoo artist is incredibly talented. Everyone is super friendly and very helpful. The place is super clean and steril. They also have art shows featuring different artists and different themes for each show. I go to Michele and I have loved everything she has ever done on me and my friends who I had go to her. A diamond in the rough of tattoo shops.  Its worth the trip to Oceanside from wherever you are coming from. Their artists all seem to specialize in different styles, but each extremely talented and hand picked by Tommy Helm the shop owner.  Been coming here to Marvin Silva for probably 3 years now (I know Im late with a review but Im new to yelp) and there isn't anything he can't do.  The shop is definitely getting immensely popular now, since Tommy Helm appeared on Ink Master, and happened placed 2nd overall! Super clean, fun, and inviting shop.  You do get what you pay for, and here is not cheap.  Anyways, check out Marvin Silva for the best bio-mech creations on the east coast, and scope out Kevin McNutt for classic tradional artwork. I have to tell you that i love the place .they make you fell right at home . the place is always super clean . if you're looking for a great tattoo artist . then this is the place for you . any thing you want, you just have to have a concept in your head and they will draw you your own unique piece, a one of a kind and i have to say that all the artist here make it as painless as posable i had work done in another shop and they made me not want to go get another tattoo ever . but someone told me to give them a try and they were right .now that i did i have about 70 hrs in the chair and wouldn't go anywhere else.
