Great shop with some great artists! I stopped by for a Friday the 13th tattoo while in Santa Fe and got one on my thigh from Smiley Jason. He did some great work and was awesome through the whole process. I would highly recommend stopping by here for some work from Smiley Jason or one of the other artists commonly in the shop! Jason is by the far the best tattoo artist I have ever had the pleasure to tattoo me. He is super responsible and makes sure his clients are completely in love with the art before he starts. He is extremely imaginative and makes an idea into a masterpiece. I love my Death Star and am proud to have his art on my body. The session was immensely pleasant and comfortable. Next to no pain. So I have 3 tattoos. One is a simple outline, one is a very detailed bear with scenery, and one it's New Mexico's outline with a Zia in it. The first was done at a shop in Santa Fe that was very cheap in price and very nice quality. The second was done in Santa Rosa, CA in a very classic style tattoo parlor. The third was done at Lost Cowboy. Off all three shops, I'm already planning my next for Lost Cowboy. They use a roatrty style tattoo machine and it is so pleasant. The healing process is very easy and comfortable. The price is high but it is 100% worth it. The atmosphere alone makes this location my favorite in Santa Fe. Both Guido and Owen do superb work. Guido recreated my business logo into a beautiful tattoo while I was in Santa Fe. He did an awesome job and I couldn't be happier with my new tattoo. The shop was extremely clean and they took great care to make sure the environment was sterile. I was pretty nervous and Guido kept talking to me and checking in with me to make sure I was doing ok. If I could give these guys 6 stars, I would gladly. This review is the one I've been waiting to write from my adventures in Santa Fe. My Mom and I took a Mother/Daughter trip for her birthday recently and wanted to commemorate the trip and her 70 years on the planet. I had a tattoo done quite recently that I wanted to cover so I began my research of artists long before our scheduled trip.Yelp reviews and photos of Owen and Guido's work on their Instagram account eventually got me to a solid decision. Mom and I visited the shop on the day we got into town to be sure we could get an appointment with them before the week was over. We found the gem of a shop, perfectly understated and just off the beaten path. The space is very cool, comfortable and has a great vibe (vibe being very important in Santa Fe). We were greeted by Owen and I was really glad to see that he was there. We booked our appointments back to back with him. We had the option of going with a visiting artist - but since we wanted matching/similar designs - Owen carved out two spots for us so he could do them both. This proved to be such an awesome thing - as I truly believe we would not be nearly as thrilled if they were done by different hands.My Mom being a tattoo virgin at 70, was extremely nervous. Owen put her right at ease and gently reminded her to breathe . His confidence, ability and overall presence was so palpable. I would have trusted him putting just about anything on me - but wanted to keep it low-profile, Mom status. The work he did on my cover-up was totally flawless and absolutely more amazing than I had anticipated. He covered it seamlessly and spent great time working on detail and using white/black to blend it all. I had expected a really opaque piece on my arm due to covering something else - but he nailed it. My Mom is equally pleased with the trio of feathers he put on her back, they look gorgeous and absolutely appropriate for a seasoned, yet spunky woman like herself.I cannot recommend Lost Tattoo and Owen Lostetter enough. After a difficult year for personal reasons, I knew I wanted a (2nd) tattoo. While flying from LAX to ALB, I noticed a young couple with beautiful tattoo art. Owen told me he had a shop in Santa Fe which was my destination for a few days. What luck! The Lost Cowboy Tattoo & Gallery was the perfect capper to my SF getaway. Owners Owen & Guido even knew the artist who gave me my first tattoo 20+ years ago so maybe it was a little more than luck. Guido gave me a graceful spiral design tat on my forearm. I've been drawn to this design for years. I love it! We spent practically the entire hour talking about HBO's The Young Pope. Great! The shop is clean & in a great downtown location. Pricing is competitive. Parking is challenging so not knowing how long I'd be there as a walk-in, I opted for a $5 parking lot on Grant & Johnson Streets. I always get tattooed when I travel. After looking at a few shops and talking to a few of the artists in town, I went with Lost Cowboy. Owen ended up doing my tattoo, while Guido freehanded a skull on my girlfriends arm. Both artists were superb, accommodating and incredibly talented. I told Owen I wanted a cactus with a moon and a skull; he was patient with me as I asked him to change two minor things on his drawing and was very professional.  I appreciate artists who are calm and willing to redraw things, as I know it's not ideal to be given a vague description and then have to tweak things. While on my honeymoon, I walked by this studio, went inside and was immediately impressed by the vibe, the cleanliness and certainly the friendliness of Guido and Owen. After explaining my idea to Guido and taking a look at his portfolio, I was confident he could do something interesting. He fit me in the next day and I can't say enough about how impressed I am with his design. It's intricate, delicate, and powerful. Both of us were really excited about it. During the session, Guido was friendly, professional, and just plain great to talk to. He checks in on how you're doing, gives you breaks, and works quickly. In a little over 3 hours' time I had a full upper arm piece, with vibrant color and an incredible amount of fine line work and expert shading. I couldn't be happier with the piece. This tattoo shop is awesome! It's definitely not your typical 'tattoo shop' though; it's more of a tattoo gallery (if you've ever been to Lost Cowboy Tattoo, you know exactly what I'm talking about). The location is great, and so is the interior design. I was tattooed by Guido, the owner, and was pleased with the 'day of the dead' skulls he tattooed on my arm. Jewelry, hand made clothes, belts, stickers. All made by local artists, or thoughtfully scavenged from thrift stores. Get a tat while you're at it. Guido and his apprentice seem like extraordinary artists. Really, their work is beautiful, delicate, tough and awesome.
