I have to say I have wanted my key tattoo for years but I wasn't sure which artist to go to in town. Life is busy and I haven't focused on it so when my husband received a gift certificate for blacklist from work I was excited to use it. But I also was scared because I had no idea if this place was good or bad!  Trusting someone to modify your body and not disfigure you is a big step.  My first impression after crossing their velvet rope was, wow Jason is passionate about sanitation and disease control. I have worked in a salon for 20 years and sanitation only got more important to me after if I finished Nursing school. Think one of the hardest parts about getting a tattoo is finding the tattoo artist who knows what they are doing. From presenting their artwork through social media or a picture portfolio because tattoos cost a lot time and money. Point is you want someone who gives their all 100% & it was pretty funny how I met Chewy at a music show Downtown ABQ, started talking, and he talked about his tattoo profession. (It was his birthday that night) I explained to him I have this OK looking tattoo on my left inner forearm and explained to him needed to be touched up and found the picture to give ideas of what I wanted. Chewy understood and was very excited what had in mind especially the rose. What I liked about Chewy was he was passionate about he does for a living & luckily found a tattoo artist who made me feel comfortable.Made the appointment with Chewy and about within a month found myself sitting on the chair in Blacklist tattoo after signing an agreement, etc. They explain what they are using on you from the ink, sterile packaged needle, & cleaning the spot where the tattoo is going to be for life. I was kind of nervous for the first 20 minutes and eventually got used constant picking of the needle for about 2 hours until the shading part took over which took about 2.5 hours. In total it took 4.5 hours of work and in the end came out this beautiful tattoo! I highly recommend Chewy and put your trust into him to produce a beautiful art piece you'll love for life! :) Note::: If you're a huge geek of Starwars, Japanese anime, or have a keen eye for detail. Jason is a fantastic artist.  I've been getting tattooed by him since he got to town 12 yrs ago.  He is diligent and honest.  He's as good an artist as anyone and better than most.  Don't get some hack to put permanent art on your body.  Go to Jason at Blacklist. Read Less

Highly recommend Blacklist to anyone looking for a tattoo in Albuquerque. Shop was super clean and had nice equipment. They squeezed me in as a walk in and the price was more than reasonable.
