I do not understand how people give good review, to this place they make the tattoos worse than those on the street.they are super expensive, the artist does not help you with ideas, I was doing one to cover a scar and did not cover it well I can still see it.$120 plus tax for a tattoo that he finish it in half an hour. I've been getting tattoos all around NY for years until I found Ink Gallery and Joanna. I've been looking for a tattoo artist to complete my music sleeve for years. Not only did I find an amazing artist to make my dream of a tattoo sleeve come true, I found the only artist I will have do all of my tattoos from now on. I live in The Bronx but travel to Ink Gallery in NJ  because it's worth it. The shop is nice and chill, with an added bonus of healing crystals and gemstones for sale it makes a nice home feeling. This being my first tattoo, you can understand how nervous I was about the entire process. Needless to say, I was so pleased with the final product and how smoothly the entire process went. The placement of the tattoo was in a quite painful of an area, but Joanna did not rush and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. She also provided me with two options in which we can group the flowers in the design, and what colors we should be using to make my vision come to life. I was able to get my after care questions even days after my visit. I can't say enough good things about the shop either - super clean and relaxing vibes. About a week ago I had the pleasure of getting my biggest tattoo to date by Joanna. I have to say I was pretty nervous & really wanted it to come out good. Joanna refused to finish the tattoo she started after one session. She uses cheap ink that fades fast, and her technique of layering over raw skin instead of packing ink into an area on the first pass is unnecessarily painful and makes skin easier to get infected even if you take proper care to avoid infection. It would have been better for her to admit that the tattoo I requested was way above her skill set than to screw it up, ignore express and important instructions about the design of the tattoo and leave an embarrassing mess for another better artist to clean up.Joanna is a perfect example of the Peter Principle and the Halo Principle. She's a decent graphite and pen artist, but tattooing is above her pay grade. A piece of Bristol board doesn't have to live with her screw ups and make financial sacrifices for someone else to fix. She's very pretty, and normally people are hesitant to give her the proper criticism that she needs. I would not recommend her to anyone. Read Less

Came to this shop to follow Vic since I have gotten a tattoo from here before a was very impressed with the shop.  The staff was extremely nice and makes you feel welcome.  They keep the shop very clean and looking at all their work everyone there does an amazing job.          Anyway I told Vic what I was looking for in my tattoo and Vic took care of the rest.  The final drawing came out amazing and the tattoo was 100 times better than I could ask for.  This is my second time getting a tattoo form Vic and have to say both times I loved my tattoo.  Vic is a true artist, does amazing work, and makes the whole tattoo experience very fun.  If you want a masterpiece see Vic because that's what you'll get!!! Drove to the shop with the bestie today to buy some crystals! Yes, we drove 45 min out the way to a tattoo shop to buy crystals, lol. Ink Gallery has an entire section where they sell all types of crystals...made into key chains, necklaces, bracelets, etc. I was originally just going to pick up 3 amethyst necklaces but walked out with also 4 amethyst key chains, and 3 different crystals for my side table.  Great prices for the crystals and great quality! Tiffany created my tattoo 5 years ago in Miami and I would not trust anyone else ever since! I am purchasing a tattoo session as a gift to my fiance before our destination wedding and when I walked into her jersey shop her staff was friendly, welcoming, and overall comforting! The place is beautiful, clean, and has an open concept.  I was even astonished to see a college friend Dave working who is amazing with color tattoos. Scheduled a tattoo session for myself and 2 others for 11/8/14, at 5pm all getting memorial tattoos.  We arrived early only to find out that our artist, Dave, was out on medical leave until mid January 2015.  Nothing you can do about that, BUT no one called any of us to let us know!  The owner was there and didn't even have the decency to speak with us, offer us another artist, nothing!  So unprofessional!!!!  Dave does great work but the shop is so poorly run that I wouldn't spend a dime in this place!  We ended up going to Hole In The Sky a few miles away, which I highly recommend!!! I came to check out the shop but right away I was placed with Dave and not joking I felt so comfortable I decided to get it right away . Me and my boyfriend came to get matching Roman numeral tattoos and off course I decided to get our date on my ribs and him on his inner arm . Dave chose the perfect font and spot for us and we loved it ! This is my boyfriend's 3rd tattoo and he said this was the best experience he's had . Quite the opposite of JM's review. Got a tattoo by Alfonso and half of the tattoo did not even show up on my skin after peeling 2 days later. I'm an avid tattoo collector and have been to shops all over NJ and have NEVER experienced the tattoo ink peeling off and leaving me nothing but pink skin and no ink. The owner tried to tell me that the pink skin without a trace of any black ink would produce black ink once it healed, which is completely inaccurate. The only positive is that the manager/owner refunded me my money without hesitation once asked. For their shop hourly rate, there are much better tattoo parlors in the near by area (hole in the sky down the road) that are stacked with amazing, experienced tattoo artists for the same rate. If they did not have "Tiffany" who was on best ink in their shop, they wouldn't be as booked as they are. Steer clear in my opinon. Read Less
