Went in there to get prices and possibly set up and appointment. The artists tried to set up an appointment with the owner, who was the guy's work I really liked, however that's where it takes a nose dive. First off the owner only comes in once a week. That's fine but he has the largest art gallery on display. Then there's no prices per hour or even ideas of prices. Even after all that the owner was going to contact me about what I wanted. Well a week later I got a text from him, but nothing after I replied. So I don't know if it was really him or not. But either way it's been 3 weeks now and haven't heard a thing. I tried this place before only to have the artist back out before exchanging of money. From what i have been through with them why bother. Sharon is amazing!! I went about a month ago and got my septum repierced. I've had it done twice before at different shops and wanted to get it for a third (and final) time. I was in Vineland and drove by this shop so I figured I'd give it a try. Sharon, the piercer, made me feel very welcome and comfortable! When she did my piercing, I felt absolutely NOTHING. The only reason I knew she put the needle through is because I saw it come out the other side! The shop is very clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. Came here to get my septum done and fell in love with the place. I haven't gotten a piercing in a while so I was super nervous but everyone there was really friendly and welcoming. The shop was super clean and comfortable and Sharon did an awesome job, she was really cool and professional. She did a great job with my piercing and I didn't feel a thing. She gave me detailed instructions on everything I needed to know and how to care for it. I will definitely be back for future piercings! Had my first tattoo done by Andrea yesterday. I have a injury in my shoulder that causes pain so she had too stop every so often & she was extremely patient. She has very steady hands threw the whole 3 1/2 hours. The tattoo turned out so amazing. I will never go too any one else for my tattoos. It was worth every second. I was there a while ago with a big name tattoo parlor in Vineland cone with an ego as well to a point where sometimes greeting a customer is a Chore for them, I went inside wanting to spend money hundreds of dollars for art on my body I walk In and I wasn't greeted , 10 mins people are walking past me as I'm looking at art still no greeting 20 still nothing after 30 mins of being there without so much as a hello , give me a sec be right with you ,or how can I help you instead I grab someone attention and told them I've been waiting I got nothing and I'm leaving upset . They tried to convince me to stay and I will be taking my business to FIRE HOUSE tattoos and they treated me so well and welcoming so I wanted to share that hopefully they changed but I will NEVER go there myselfRead Less

This place is clean and professional, I had two great experiences here! At 43, I got my nipples pierced and loved them! Sadly almost two years later they closed up after removing them for surgery :-( Just got them redone tonight and Sharon did a great job! I had an awful experience just going to Altered Art to see about a walk-in appointment.  My last 4 tattoos have been done at Empire in Blackwood (which is amazing), but I was hoping to try something closer to home this time. I walked in and saw a man on the customer-side of the counter and a man on the other side, whom I assume worked there.  I stood there for a good 3 minutes before finally being acknowledged by the man on the customer side, who turned out to be an employee. Not even a "hello"- just a "you need something?"  When I asked if there was time for a walk-in, the same guy curtly says that he's about to leave and points to the other man, who says nothing the entire time, and says that he is booked for the night. Now, if it's only 6:00 and I had a customer come in with 2 hours left before closing, I would at least consider looking at their idea or asking if they wanted to schedule an appointment for another time. Instead all I got was a silent stare in closing.  I'm glad I didn't end up giving such rude, reticent people my money and will make sure to warn everyone I know not to go there. Read Less

Long story short - I drove two hours and got my first tattoo from Rich a couple weeks ago. I can't say enough what a killer experience this was.  Great soundtrack, expert advice, excessively clean, and each artist had an AMAZING portfolio.  I think the most telling point was the number of people who saw the tattoo afterward and told me that it was a difficult piece (lots of solid black) and that it would most likely need to be touched up.  Now that I am fully healed I can safely say it was a perfect job.I already know my what my next two tattoos will be and can't imagine going anywhere else. Altered Art is by far the best shop in the area. Their professionalism, knowledge and passion can not be contested. The shop has a very relaxed atmosphere, is accommodating to your needs and offers a level of skill that cannot be matched. Each artist has been trained by the best and their passion and skill in the art world is hard to find anywhere else. Sharon, the piercer, is also very knowledgeable and skillful in her art. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to my friends or curious people I meet that ask about my tattoos. Rich did my tattoo of two very realistic looking sparrows and I love the shading and use of color. I can say he's done a lot of work on many of my friends and he specializes in really great bright colors, beautiful flowers, great script work, and does gorgeous pin-ups. His placement is always on point. The shop is a laid back environment, no hipster pretension but lots of good metal.
