This is a very well-kept, safe location for your tattooing and piercing needs! I brought my daughter here to have her belly button pierced, and she or I couldn't have been more happy with the experience! First, Mark had us complete the proper paperwork, and the entire process was explained in detail to ensure that there was no guesswork. I had a sternum dermal done at another piercing place, but the clear stone turned green.  That particular place blamed me for this -- they said I must have used some type of lotion or perfume that changed the color of the stone.  That particular place replaced the stone, which turned green again, even though I was careful to not put anything on it.  It looked horrible.  At that point I wanted to change the stone a third time.  However, they refused to change the stone for me because they stopped doing dermals.  So I went to a piercing place in Levittown, but it was screwed in too tight and he couldn't remove it.  Thought I would try Hydravolve.  The apprentice had trouble, but she called her boss (the owner) who was able to remove it pretty easily.  From the beginning I could tell he knew what he was talking about.  He explained to me that the stone changed color because I have hard water, not because of anything I did.  Not only was he able to remove it and replace the stone, he didn't even charge me a penny.  This was the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life.  So professional.  I will absolutely be returning to Hydravolve with any further piercings that I want. I suck at writing reviews. So some might find this underwhelming but my visit was anything but. Mark and his apprentice were warm and welcoming. This was my first facial piercing so naturally I was slightly nervous. The procedure was quick with minimal..actually almost no pain. I went here after reading the reviews but was still a bit uneasy. That all went away as soon as I walked in. Cienna was so personable and knowledgeable. She changed my tongue piercing nice and smooth. When Mark came in his humor settled me even further and I was able to get a pretty nice looking navel piercing. I've had Mark always change my piercing and he did it initially and he's great. My nose piercing fell out and I went to get a new one. I met his apprentice Cienna for the first time and she was very knowledgeable in what she was doing and was very warm and comforting. She explains what she's doing as she's doing it. I went to Hydrovolve because initially my ears were pierced too low 40 years ago, and I wanted them repierced higher.  Mark took a lot of time measuring and taking into account my different sized earlobes and the fact I had other piercings in my ears that I had allowed to close.  He did a great job figuring a way to balance the challenges I had and I am very pleased with the result.  The studio is very clean, decorated very nice, and I can't imagine anyone not feeling totally comfortable there.  They have a nice assortment of jewelry and I would recommend them highly.  Thanks Mark! My first ever body piercing and tattoo was done at Hydravolve Studios. For my first body piercing I got my belly done. Mark R. is an extremely nice guy. He was very sensitive to me since I was a newcomer. He took his time and talked with me, helped ease my anxiety. I ended up going back for a nose piercing too.My first tattoo, and all of my tattoos for that matter, were done by MJ. My first tattoo was done on my abdomen. I sent him an image of what I wanted done and he ended up redrawing it to make it a little different. I was very pleased with the idea that he didn't want to just do what someone else has done, but instead make it a little more personal. I remember he called on Mark to examine the placement of my abdomen tattoo prior to starting to make sure they were symmetrical. They truly put in a lot of effort, together, to make sure everything would be perfect. Each time I went to him for a new tattoo he was always very patient and took the time to ask me if I was pleased with the placement before starting. He would even offer me breaks if I needed one.Overall, I recommend this studio. I have only ever worked with Mark and MJ but I am confident that the other artists are just as talented and patient. I live in Monmouth county, which is over an hour drive to this location. However, I'm staying in the area for two weeks for work. After years of wanting to get my nostril pierced, I woke up this morning and knew today was the day. I, of course, went on Yelp and saw this location listed as number, read the reviews and checked out their website and Instagram. I couldn't find any information on pricing so I gave them a call. The man on the phone answered my questions to the best of his ability and told me to call back when Mark, the piercer, arrived at 4 pm and he would answer all of my questions in depth. Instead I showed up and was greeted at the door and was asked to fill out the info sheet/waiver. When it was my turn, Mark asked me which jewelry I wanted and gave me the time I needed. Finally he took me to the room where we shared some stories as he unwrapped all of the instruments. He marked my nose with the sharpie twice, let me choose which location I wanted, and from there he explained to me the steps. I asked him a few more questions about the aftercare and then we proceeded with the piercing. After the piercing as over mark explained the after care process, gave me an info card with the after care explained and every possible way you could contact him for help, AND the marker they mark on your face! Mark was very calm and professional. His customer service was absolutely amazing and although I live very far from this location, I will come back to this shop for my body mod needs in the future. Upon entering, I was greeted by a very pleasant employee, that was eager to answer any questions I had. Unfortunately, the legal age to pierce is 16yo, regardless if a parent gives consent. Excellent experience with Hydravolve! I went here for my first tattoo and couldn't have asked for a better place. It's very clean and professional. Dan Fisher does excellent work and several people have asked for his info after seeing my tattoo. He's very quick with responding to your emails and is very thorough with all the details to make sure you're getting exactly what you want. He took a good 30 minutes on the day of before we got started to make sure everything was spelled correctly, sized and proportioned perfectly. He was also great with explaining aftercare and my tattoo has healed beautifully. Got my conch pierced by Mark. Very friendly and chill guy who knew what he was doing. He showed me the new fresh-out-of-the-package needle so i knew it was sterile. Thoroughly explained the procedure and proper aftercare. This was the event of piercing my daughter's ears so safety and sterility were paramount. I was feeling a bit pleased w myself when I realized a carefully selected tattoo and bodypiercing shop would be tops in that regard. Extra bonus when it turns out that the amply-painted and pierced Mark also has a genuine gift for leading a young girl plus two  generations of her family through the procedure. Some highlights:- Mark opens the sterile packages containing each instrument in front of you so you see it has been autoclaved- no surprises- Mark walks you through each step and tells you exactly what's going to happen - no tricksies either. Really, I did.  He is so laid back, patient, "chill", etc.  I used to go there just to "hang out" and leave with a new piercing.1) he opens all his tools brand spankin new right in front of your eyes. 2) measure twice, pierce once.  He makes precise piercings that are all even.  3) I trust this man with my body 100%.  He NEVER makes mistakes with someone else's body, this is something that is unforgivable. MJ is excellent at working with you to get the exact fit, design, coloring for the tattoo you envisioned. Some other shops will just slap whatever you bring in on you without asking questions about what you were thinking, etc. He has given me 5 of my 6 tattoos and it's no coincidence that the 1 he didn't do is the worst one. Went here to get trags (tragii??) pierced earlier this summer. Mark is phenomenal!! I went with another friend who was also getting pierced and we probably took up about 2 hours of Mark's time. Mark was incredibly knowledgable...he explained each step, what to expect for the healing, and we discussed LATIN during my piercing! It was awesome to have some one to banter with while he was shoving uber sharp objects through one's skin. Mark walked us through the healing process, recommended saline spray for the piercings and above all was honest about everything. He told us H20 Ocean was what he preferred but honestly, all saline solutions did the same thing. I appreciated his dedication, his candor, and his intelligence. I highly recommend Mark as a piercer and once I use them for tats I'll let you know whether that recommendation extends over to MJ. Based on Mark and his dedication to his shop, I'm pretty sure I'll be leaving another glowing review for Hydravolve.Just don't ask me to say the shop name to you correctly on the first go round...otherwise, pull a tammany hall with this place: go early, go often! i hadn't been pierced here (yet) but i had to call around and find a place in jersey that sold retainers for a short-notice medical procedure.  (my regular place is in philly, and it would have been a pain to get there in the rush-hour traffic, not to mention the extra money for the bridge and parking) so jersey it had to be.mark is such a sweetheart!  he custom made a pair of cheapo PTFE retainers and threw in a bunch of extra o-rings and didn't charge me a single cent!  now that's some customer service if i ever saw it.  he may have made me a convert.  i'll definitely keep him in mind if i decide that i need more holes in my body.
