I have had quite a bit of work done in the past and decided to get my first tattoo in an area that is showing. My wrist. I chose Erik by viewing work he had done on the website. I called and asked if I can walk-in and I was advised he had a two hour appointment that is scheduled until 4 and he could probably do my tattoo then. I arrived and waited and was then told to come back the following week. He said he was doing an entire sleeve . So I scheduled a two-hour appointment the following week. When I returned I waited over an hour. Until 5:15...My appointment was from 4 to 6. Erik sketched the tattoo in 15 minutes while I waited in the lobby. It was not like the picture I gave him. With a pen he quickly drew in what was missing. I asked for no color and what was supposed to be angel wings look like dark bird wings. Where he put the nicks in the feathers randomly with the pen, last minute... the feathers look detached. Some look like swords. His hand was shaky and he had to go over the lines and this caused them to be a little thicker than they should be for a small tattoo. The shading has no Rhyme or Reason. I asked a coworker who has many tattoos for her thoughts and she told me it was not a good tattoo. It's not like the picture I showed him but it is like several pictures that I showed him I did not want. The darkness and too much dark outline. He rushed. There was another small tattoo I was supposed to get but I was asked to come back for a third time. He basically did my tattoo in a half an hour to forty minutes and they were closing the shop. I was charged $120 plus $8 tax and I actually tipped him $20 LOL Erik told me that he would do both tattoos and if he had to he could stay a little later after closing.. but instead I was asked to make a third appointment. I drove 45 minutes each way for this small tattoo that was very expensive ..in an open area, my wrist, that looks awful. I got my deposit back the following week .....another hour and a half of driving!!...(right after i had my second tattoo done by someone else) and when I told Erik how I felt about having to wait and feeling rushed he told me maybe I should find somebody that works at my speed. That was funny because I literally just had my upper arm done a week after leaving my second visit to Tattooville . That man was an artist and spent three hours total going over options with me and showing me what he was drawing. The new tattoo cost $120 and was a lot more work then what Erik did in a rush. I CAN NOT speak for the other artists there or past work. Their work may be excellent and quality work. .....there are artists out there that care about the permanent art that they put on people. My tattoo and experience with Erik was definitely not worth it and I have to pay now to fix it. Everyone has a different experience with an artist. This was my experience with Erik at Neptune Tattooville and it is permanent. But some good came out of this. I found a tattoo artist and shop in Edison 5 minutes from my home. And I'm going back for more work.... Save your skin lol...trying to figure out how to post pic of this tiny expensive tattoo. If you do use the services here, make sure you get the time you deserve and quality. Read Less

Got my tragus pierced by Pete! There was a little bit of a wait before me but all of the guys were cool and made me feel comfortable. Went there today so my husband and I can get tattoos. Not complicated just outline tats, mine very small flower on my wrist. The guy out front was so rude and nasty. My husband decided right away on the edits he suggested while I wasn't sure because he said they couldn't do it the size I originally wanted. 3 people walked in after us all Getting large expensive ones. I finally decided ok I'll go with the size he suggested. All nasty and making a rude face at me he tells me now I'll have to wait hours after these 3 other people for this 10 minute tattoo. My husbands tattoo took 15 minutes. Mine wouldn't have even been 10 minutes. He never said another word to us. So very rude. My husband got his tattoo which was done very nice btw and we left and will not return. Very bad customer service. Read Less

After checking my ID, she had me wait for less than five minutes before Pete took me to the back. He was a very genuinely kind and knowledgeable guy and I felt comfortable with him piercing me! I've had ten piercings over my life-time, and I have definitely had some less than desirable people pierce me before! So.. I woke up feeling a bit adventerous yesterday so I went in as a walk in as I was told walk ins are first come first serve... The first thing I noticed was the clean space.. Second; was how friendly the guys were and how quickly they were able to accommodate me... After giving the idea of what I wanted (geometrical-ish-ous-ness type of circular digs on my wrist) Damian sketched something up and we got to work.. Now.. I'm a seriouussss baby when it comes to physical pain.. I have a few tattoos, they are all small, and they alllll hurt and required a break.. However his tattoo gun was very quiet, almost that of a soft hum, which obviously makes it just a bit less nerve racking and vibrational on the skin, and his needle was super duper tiny (perfect for the fine lines I had requested) and seemingly painless, and required no breaks... He was very gentle, calming, and worked quickly.. Even had a bit of charm to lighten the air, not to mention a pretty face is always good for a distraction as well haha! Anyway, it was a great experience all in all he was greatly professional in his art and I can't wait to go back for more, which I am thinking now will be sooner than later since I am no longer terrified of the needle.....  :) I certainly recommend this place and I certainly recommend Damian...  Although, I'm sure the other guys are just as rad.. Came here 4 years ago for my first tattoo with Dave Shoemaker. He came up with a great design from my idea. Could not gave been happier with my experience.Went again yesterday for tattoo #2. Pete Pedersen....thank you. I came in with a sketch and he created an amazing rendition. I didn't even make an appointment and was simply a walk-in and they took care of me with no problem and super fast! I got my tattoo done by Chuck and he was such a kind guy. I brought in an image of what I envisioned for my tattoo, he went and started sketching the tattoo for me, and brought it back to me within less than 20 minutes. I loved the sketch but had a few things I wanted him to tweak and he was completely fine with my changes and kept assuring me that he 'just wants me to be happy, since this will be on me forever' haha, and he was absolutely right. I was taken into the room for my tattoo within 30 minutes and Chuck was kind enough to let my family come in with me for the tattoo since I was nervous. He even spoke to my parents on Skype assuring them that I would be fine. LOL. He took his time, asked if I was doing okay, and was done within 40 minutes or less. My tattoo came out beautifully, (the colors, the lines, the shading, everything) and the price was super affordable! I had an absolutely fantastic experience here and would recommend these guys to anyone.I came here because a couple of my friends from Jerz recommended them highly. I grew up in NJ but haven't lived there for awhile so I decided to take their word for it. I went in as a walk-in, but they were able to get me set up with an artist almost immediately. I guess I should take some time now to tell you a couple things:1) When I get an idea into my head, no matter how ridiculous it is, I won't stop until I've made it happen2) A few months ago, I got the idea that I wanted a tattoo in the shape of NJ, filled in like an avocadoSo you can probably guess what happened next. I was fortunate to get Erik as my artist, who was awesome. I had a general idea of what I wanted things to look like but he completely exceeded my expectations. It was done quickly, hasn't caused me any trouble since, and I truly couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out! From start to finish, no complaints whatsoever. Once it's completely healed I'll upload a picture of it. The shop is in the upper level of a very random building that you might otherwise overlook, but they are absolutely worth checking out! I picked Erik for my first tattoo mostly based off his profile from their website. I had never been there or met any of them before. I called and visited and he did my second tattoo. I was in love! It took a long time but was beautiful and carefully done. He put up with me moving his sketch a few mms up and down four times and didn't mind my friends being there. Needless to say I went back to him for my third and if I ever get another I will go to him again. He was more than reasonably priced.My friend had her two done by Dave and his work is also stunning.Not the best location though. Not in a bad area but a little difficult to find. This place was great. Got my first tattoo here on a Saturday after driving past it for years when I lived in Ocean Grove.  I actually went down to Slinging Ink in Point Pleasant first as a friend had referred to them.  Driving down the GSP, the excitement started to build so I could get my son's name on my left arm but when I showed up at 12:57 and they open at 1 p.m., I grabbed for the still-locked door and looked inside as the staff sat on a couch drinking Big Gulps and indicated with their single digit, "we open at 1".  As they appeared to be smart business people by NOT letting me in 3 minutes early, I decided to drive to Neptune.  I waited for about 20 minutes as the place was pretty busy, and got my tattoo.  The guy and girl I dealt with were great, it was an easy process and I will definitely go back and refer anyone to this place and not the other. Literally, I'm still obsessed.I've had Patrick, David and Dan do all four of my tattoos. They are artists in the purest sense of the word. There's no BS here, they're straight forward and will tell you what works, and what doesn't work. I've always done my sessions as a walk in, because making an appointment WILL cause me to chicken out. I've waited anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours, but it's always worth it. I would honestly recommend any of them, they're so talented. Let's be serious, tattoos HURT. But all three of them put me at ease, and listened to my incessant rambling about god knows what. I got my first tattoo at the baby age of 19 from Dan, my second from Dave, and my third and fourth tattoos about two and three years ago from Patrick, and I'm definitely due for a new one...it just comes down to deciding what it is I want now.It's easy to pass on 35, it's in a small shopping center, upstairs from a nail salon. It's REALLY clean in there, and they have tons of flash on the walls if that's what you're interested in. I usually go in with my idea drawn up already, so all they have to do it sketch and go from there. They're also meticulous about colors, spelling, etc. I have tattoos in Italian, and Dave and Patrick were sure to double check the spelling of the words so we didn't have any "oh shit" moments at the end.They're also quick, without rushing, and attentive. I recommend them wholeheartedly and would never think to choose a different spot for ink.Oh, they do piercing too. but that was a phase I flirted with only briefly. Read Less

He was very professional, efficient and thorough from start to finish. He showed me different sizes and styles until we found what I wanted.
