Just went to the shop on Saturday after searching forever and reading great reviews about Christy! She definitely earned this 5 star rating as well as the shop overall. The shop is quaint but cool. Good vibes and cool decor. Didn't interact as much with the tattoo artists but a few of the guys were at the front counter when I came in and they were cool and respectful. They got me all set up while waiting for Christy. Just like the rest of these reviews state, Christy was knowledgeable and super cool and careful. I'm a first timer at nipple piercings and she was the perfect person to do it! She explained all the steps to the piercing before and while doing everything. She also let me ask ALL my questions without being impatient. And we talked like good girlfriends which helped ease my nerves. Super sanitary. Super quick. Not nearly as painful as I expected. I got my nose pierced by Christy and all the reviews I read about her being knowledgeable and professional were completely accurate. Christy was really patient and explained every part of the piercing process to me. She changed her gloves multiple times and everything was really sanitary. I've never been to a tattoo shop before and haven't gotten anything besides my ears pierced, and she made the experience totally comfortable. I also had a lot of questions since I'm allergic to a lot of metals and my skin scars very easily, and she was even happy to answer questions about problems I've had with an old ear piercing. I had my nose pierced by Christy today. I researched where to go in NJ, PA and even NYC and I am so happy I picked Rabbit's Den. Christy is so awesome, she explained everything to me in great detail, she was so pleasant and cheerful. The whole place is clean, organized, and has a great vibe. I'm a mature grown woman and although I've had plenty of ear piercings I've been wanting to get my nose pierced for years and years and just never had the courage (not for the piercing - for the showing up in public in my "fancy" job). I went here 2 months back for two ear piercings. I returned today to see if I could switch out my piercings. Christy inspected the piercings thoroughly and told me they weren't healed enough to replace. I'm so happy I got my first tattoo here! Came as a walk in and got lucky, they had a waitlist but called an hour later saying I can come in at 8:30. Ended up getting there around 8 and within 5 minutes I was in a seat. Jimmy tattooed me, looked at the reference photo and made my tattoo look cleaner and more elegant looking. I love it so much! Tattoo parlor it self is nice and clean. You can tell they take the time to keep the place clean and earache artist keeps their individual stations clean. The waiting room gets a little crowded but only so much you can do with that. My artist Ben was a cool dude but some of the others could be a little more friendly. I got the outline of the state of New Jersey with different things in the three different parts of the state. Ben is an awesome dude. The tattoo took a little bit longer than he expected but we were both able to stick it out and get the whole thing done in one session. Decided to get my conch piercing at this place. Nice and cozy set up. Friendly staff and very informative. I decided to get pierced by Christy. She's very experienced and has a light hand. She's super cool with a great personality makes you feel comfortable and less nervous. My piercing is still healing and haven't had any problems. I opted for a dog paw earring with crystals which was an additional cost but definitely worth it. piercing price includes a standard piece of jewelry if you want anything with crystals or different metals it's an additional cost. I also bought the sea salt spray. Definitely recommend to clean your piercing with this daily until it heals. I will definitely come back and recommend this place. Ask for Christy. Read Less

Clean, friendly and talented! This mom and pop tattoo shop is like no other. It sits off a main street disguised as a residential house armed with a glowing tattoo sign in the window and a really cool plaque on the lawn. Inside boasts a very homey vibe. They offer multiple tattooing stations, a private room for piercings, lounge and lobby. The staff is very friendly, professional and accommodating. I can't say enough nice things about this shop, I love this place!  I brought my 13 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced with Christy. My daughter had previously gotten her ears pierced at the mall when she was three years old and her ears had never truly healed properly.  Over time, my daughter would wear earrings on and off and eventually had stopped wearing earrings altogether because she would break out in infection, keloids, rash, and get painful bloody swelling every time she tried to wear them, even with real gold earrings.After reading the excellent reviews on Yelp for the Rabbits Den and Christy, I finally brought my daughter here to get her ears pierced the proper way.  If I could give Christy more than 5 stars I would. She was amazingly knowledgeable about piercing, hygiene, and proper care of pierced ears. I learned that when my daughter went to get her ears pierced at the mall as a toddler, they had never truly been pierced, only punctured -  that's why my daughter was having repeated infections and had failed to heal. Slathering her lobes in Neosporin was not helping either.Christy's office was sterile and set up like a doctor's office, but also had fun things to look at on the wall so my daughter could distract herself while Christy worked. My daughter who is afraid of everything in a doctor's office, especially needles, said the ear piercing did not hurt at all!!! The whole process took about 30-45 minutes but the actual piercing  took only a few seconds per ear.  The preparation and and after care instructions took up the most time in the process, which I greatly appreciated.  Educating clients about what is involved in piercings and what to expect after is so important, I learned so much valuable information from Christy.  My only regret is that I did not know about Rabbits Den sooner. If I had, I would have brought my daughter here earlier to get her ears pierced correctly the first time.  I also want to give a shout out to the other people who work here and the cleanliness of the shop itself.  A+. The staff is super friendly, and their waiting room is decorated really nicely complete with a little Keurig machine.  My other daughter and son were able to wait there while their sister got her ears pierced, there were tons of books to read and a TV to watch while they waited.  This was our first time in a Tattoo Parlor, and both me and my kids left feeling impressed with the quality of service and hospitality. I have zero tattoos, only piercings. Christy is by far the BEST piercer I've ever had. She told me her background (working in healthcare, working under an endocrinologist) and she was able to explain to me the HOWs and WHYs of piercings, which I really appreciate. I attended their 5th Anniversary fundraiser and she was there until after it ended, still piercing people. She was incredibly patient. I've been to Rabbits Den beforehand. I was here yesterday for their 5 year anniversary and while the wait was rather long, I totally understand that it was not at all the fault of the piercer, so they still get five stars in my book! I found this place after months of research and I am so glad I came here for my first tattoo. I came in on a Saturday - which they keep open for walk-ins - and I'm glad I came early. Called for availability for a small tattoo-- the man who answered the phone was extremely friendly and said they could fit me in within the hour due to a cancellation. I got to the shop and was greeted by the man who answered the phone (forgot his name) and Chris, the tattoo artist. Both were very nice and got me set up within 5 minutes. Chris asked what I wanted, got it set up, and had me on the chair within 10 min. Everyone I walked by in the shop acknowledged me and said hi. I felt comfortable the entire time. Chris asked mid way if I was ok. I was out of the shop within 25 min (my tattoo was quarter sized and did not have a lot of detail) . Great experience compared to other shops. Tom has done a lot of tattoo's on my son, and all I could say is amazing and truly a real artists work in doing them. I've recently had a St Michael Tattoo done by Tom and all I can say is it's outstanding and a real piece of art. I have seen his wife Janie's work, which is also outstanding. Seen work done by the other staff members and all I can say is that if you are going to get a tattoo, this should be the place you check into. Absolutely clean and spotless and bright and a complete home like atmosphere. It's also in a house and even their waiting room has a terrific personality of it's own with a fireplace. So in 2014 my fiancé and I wanted to go away for our one year anniversary. We were not engaged at the time. So we picked NJ cuz it was cheaper than NY and we didn't really care where we went! While we were here in Edison he ended up proposing to me!! It was the best ever, since then NJ has become a special space for us.One of my bucket list things I've wanted to do since I was a teenager was tattoo the longitude and latitude coordinates of where I was sitting when he proposed to me, so not knowing anywhere around NJ I just started calling places and Rabbits Den seemed the nicest and their work was impressive. When I get there they were sooooo nice to us and the girl at the front desk was great! We had a nice conversation and I'm back in NJ now for a school interview!! Jimmy has been doing all of my tattoos for the past year and his work always gets compliments from strangers and friends alike. I wanted to get a small piece to commemorate my best friend on the anniversary of her death. I was meaning to call to set up an appointment, but honestly I kept putting it off dreading this day. So before I knew it the day was here. I stopped in yesterday just after they opened to see if they could squeeze me in.  I explained the significance of the day and Tom said he had an appointment coming in a few mins, but was more than willing to fit me in that evening. He even went on to tell me to go tend to the memorial and just give him a call and not to worry if I was running a little late.I returned that evening and everything went great, smooth, and quick. Tom is very personable and accommodating.The studio itself is an old house. The waiting room is the polar complete with fire place and eclectic decor. The place is very clean and bright.Kinda freaks me out in comparison to the dark run down joint I got my first piece at some 20 years ago. Janie drew a beautiful breast piece on me with flowers and even incorporated small drawings from my grandchildren. I came here for their Friday the 13th $30 tattoo/half price piercing event/fundraiser for the animal shelter in East Brunswick. They were PACKED. So many people showed up and were put on the wait list, they wound up having to close the wait list at 7pm and were still tattooing past 11pm. The artists in this shop are all dedicated to their craft and they are all very skilled at what they do. I highly recommend this tattoo parlor for piercings or tattoos.
