My tattoo was done back in 2015 by an apprentice named Nick, who no longer works there. The owner was very nice but the work that came out of this place that is on my wrist is unacceptable. I did sign saying I was aware an apprentice was tattooing me but I would think that if the owner feels like his tattooing is good enough at this point in the apprenticeship that he can tattoo on actual people, that he would be capable of doing this tattoo that the owner looked at and gave to him to do. Once the tattoo was finished, I could see day by day the ink spreading. It's only gotten worse over the years. And as you can see in the picture, some spots didn't hold in my skin at all. I did go back to the shop and the owner told me he could fix the blown out lines with white ink. That does not make sense at all. White ink is not white out, it does not cover black ink. TBONE has done my tattoos and I couldn't be more happy. He is doing my sleeve piece by piece and he is amazing. He has such a light hand, and never did I think I could sit for 3+ hours, but I did with no issue. His work is beautiful, and truthfully I would never go to anyone else. I have 4 other tattoos not done by him from another shop, and once I found him, I would never change my artist again. I went and got my first tattoo done here and the entire experience was wonderful. I called and I spoke with Rich. He had me come in to speak with him about what I was looking for and wanted and I made an appointment for two days later. The day of my tattoo I went in super nervous (since it was my first) and Rich was really great about keeping me calm and telling about each step and what to expect! He was funny and witty and kept me at ease the entire time! I got a small tattoo on the inside of my left arm and the whole process took under an hour! I was in NJ, about 4 days ago for a month and really wanted to get a tattoo done. Googled for nearby studios when Teddy Bear Ink popped. I dropped in, wasn't very sure about what tattoo I want. What a great shop. Rich did a great job bringing my firefighting picture with my dad to life. I was able to sit for a total of almost 5 hours with relatively no pain(I got my shoulder blade done). Absolutely awesome people. friendly and polite, there's a warm, calm vibe to the whole place. Melissa was so personable, chatting and really making us all feel very welcome. she let my daughter, who's 15, and my sister in law who's in from Texas, sit in and watch. explained everything to her, and answered all her questions while I was getting tattooed. My daughter wants a tattoo for her 16th birthday, the same one that I have and that my Mom had. So on her 16th birthday, we will definitely be going to see Melissa. Being a nurse, I'm super picky with watching technique and cleanliness. The place was the best. I can not wait to go back. I even think my Dad, who is super chicken, will be going back to finish his tattoo that he started at one place but wouldn't go back... Nick did a great job on my two tattoos. I had a good idea of what I wanted, but felt they needed more. Nick was able to add the important artistic detail I lacked to bring them to life.I'm going back for another one, but need to find a tattoo I connect with. First of all I will literally travel any distance to get tattooed by Oscar. I first fell in love with his work back when he was in Keansburg and now that he opened his own shop in Matawan (closer to home) he sees me every couple of months. He is truly great at what he does! Came here for my first tattoo, and will probably never go anywhere else! Everyone here is extremely friendly and welcoming without overwhelming you. I was pretty nervous goig into it, but the artists and staff really take their time with you to make you comfortable and ensure your tattoo is exactly what you want, how you want it and where you want it. The shop itself is immaculate and overall has a very friendly vibe to it. It's tough to find tattoo studios where you don't feel like everyone there hates you for being picky or nervous, but Teddy Bear without a doubt, is the exception 110%. Read Less
