If I could give Eric a million stars I would. He and his beautiful wife Nikki make the studio a wonderful place to be. I approached Eric with the idea of doing a portrait of my big old mutt and he couldn't have been more receptive of the idea. I never would have thought I'd meet anyone more excited for me to have this tattoo other than me. He is so passionate about his work and really loves a challenge. I've struggled with a nasty anxiety disorder my entire life and not only ...this piece but the entire experience of being at this studio surrounded by such talented and passionate artists really made me feel more complete. Eric blew the portrait out of this galaxy. He went out of his way to make me feel at home there. Between walking into the shop hearing their son's band practice in the back of the shop and leaving with one of the most meaningful tattoos ever at almost 1:30 in the morning I felt like I got way more than my money's worth. I don't know where else I could go in New Jersey to get such committed customer service and passion for the art of tattooing. Body art world is the real deal. My experience just being there and the quality of the tattoo I left with speaks volumes toward the quality of the people that run the show here. Sorry this is such a long review but I can't even begin to say how out of this world happy I am. This is my second tattoo by Eric and I can't wait to get more. This review it's a bit strange since I got my tattoo 18 years ago, which I still love and the color and shading has held up beautifully. I revisited this place yesterday with my now 18 year old daughter. She has gotten a nose piercing a month ago which needed to be removed for a new job. She could not get it out herself for some reason and I came here for help. Eric was more than happy to help us. He had no reason to take the chance of injuring my daughter while removing a piercing which was not his. He refused to take any payment for his time and risk. I went there to get a tattoo and the artist I had was very rude. I thought that maybe he was just having a bad day so I put a deposit down for an appointment. The following week I went back because he had told me he'd show me the drawing he made for my tattoo the week before the appointment. He did not have the drawing and was, again, very rude. Later that day I decided to cancel the appointment and when I called and did so he proceeded to curse at me for a few minutes before hanging up the phone. I have gotten three tattoos at three different places and this place was bar none the most frightening experience of my life. I can't speak for the quality of the finished product because I did not keep my appointment but I can say I felt very unwelcome from the moment I stepped in the door.Read Less

I had my tattoo done by Eric.   I get a TON of compliments on it.  It was a 'custom' tattoo.   I brought in artwork and he used them to make my tattoo, so he didn't have to come up with that much.    We did the tattoo in two sittings.    The shading on it is seriously tight and amazing.   I get lots of people stopping me and asking me who did it.    It was expensive but good ink should be.    Not 5 stars because there was always someone smoking inside in the back room (I guess another artists), which made the place smell like smoke to me.  Also he was very nice but not the friendliest artist I've seen.   Also the face on the girl in the tattoo isn't that great.  Everything else is awesome, but there is something about her face that is off and it doesn't exactly look like the artwork.  In Monmouth County there are SO many shops, don't make the mistake of going somewhere crappy and getting stuck with bad ink forever.  I would go back to Eric for sure, especially for anything heavy on greyscale work that is heavy on shading.   I love my tattoo.
