Took my daughter here New Year's Eve to get an ear cartilage piercing removed. Carrie helped us. She was very carefully, knowledgeable, and helpful. She carefully removed the old piercing, cleaned the ear, inserted the new earring, and gave detailed instructions on future ear care. Left with a small bag of supplies and a printed instruction card. I did not have a good experience. I went in to talk about getting a tattoo and the artist completely ignored what I wanted and instead told me what I would have to get. As if I would pay hundreds of dollars (overpriced from the start) to get a tattoo that I did not even want. He was also acted very superior and not at all kind or willing to work with me. Really friendly & knowledgeable. Went in to switch my nose ring for the first time. Would feel totally comfortable going back with any problems or questions. A lot of shops give rip off vibes & charge you for every little thing. I liked how personable & down to earth the staff was. I'm only rating the piercing artist. The tattoos I've seen people get are amazing. But the lady who did my piercing was TERRIBLE!!!! First of all, the people who work there tricked my mom into thinking a captive beads ring heals faster (which I got a second and third opinion by other people after the piercing and they said that's a lie) She pierced my belly button, explained to me how to clean it so I simply followed what she said. It wasn't healing at all, so I went back to her and she said to "Well if you listened to me and actually decided to do what I told you this wouldn't have happened." So she changed her whole story on how she said to clean it and basically made me look like an idiot to everyone watching. She then told me another way on cleaning it so I started to follow that way and it still wasn't working. I went to another tattoo shop and they checked it out, immediately said it was infected. I had to take it out then and there because of how awful this lady was to me. It left a nasty scar and I do hope that I can get it re-pierced but not by her. I’ve been going to this shop for years now for both tattoos and piercings, and all I can say is that everyone has been nothing but kind, funny and very professional. The tattoo artists and piercer put a lot of effort into their work making sure you walk out loving your new tattoo and/or piercing. The best part is that if you’re an animal lover like me, they’ll sometimes bring their dogs to work with them and that just makes the whole experience so much better! They keep it real with customers and work hard for what they do, so don’t expect to walk in wanting a dope ass tattoo for cheap (duh) -____- . I got my nose pierced by Carrie about two months ago. She was nice and took her time explaining how to take care of the piercing, as well as what to expect in terms of healing, etc.About two days after getting my nose pierced the ring came out (I was in a hurry getting dressed that morning), and I couldn't get it back in. I went to the shop and the piercer who was there helped me (it closed by that time, and he had to re-pierce it). He was friendly and took care of me right away.I returned a couple of weeks after that with my cousin, who also got his nose pierced. I have always heard good things about this shop but, after a decade in customer service, I will never step foot in there. I understand that the premise of a tattoo shop is ART and not customer service, but I was truly appalled. I called because I was down the street and eager to get a simple four word tattoo. I haven't gotten a tattoo in six years, and haven't been to this shop for any of the seven tattoos I have. I told the guy on the phone I wanted a "simple four word tattoo, on my inner forearm" and asked "are you completely booked up for the day and can you give me an idea of your minimum cost?" (Knowing that many shops require an appointment/can estimate their daily business, and that all shops have a minimum cost for a tattoo - regardless of how simple or small). I was told, rudely, "Will calls are first come, first serve. I can't give you any information over the phone. You would have to stop in." When I pushed and just asked again for the minimum and if they were booked up for the day, he repeated himself flatly and ended the call. I considered walking in to find out additional information but I couldn't find the nerve, because I knew my business didn't mean anything to them. Read Less

I got a quick and simple nose piercing here, done by Carrie. She seemed like she knew what she was doing and knowledgeable about piercings in general which is always a good sign. I love this place! I have gotten 3 piercings here and two tattoos. The piercer was the best I first got my lip done by her but I couldn't keep it because I had complications because of smoking and dental problems. The last piercing I got was my septum and it healed wonderfully with the products she supplies for no extra cost. My first tattoo there was a cartoon cat and the person doing the tattoo made some suggestions so it would turn out the best possible way. My next tattoo was just a word but the tattooer made sure I made the right decisions for the size of the text and placement. When I went to get my second tattoo my first one had lost a little ink so they touched it up for free. I have gone to other tattooers and by far this will be the only place I go from now on. Came in looking for pricing for a tattoo.  I was rudely told by the owner that my pre chosen design was too big for the area where I wanted it and would end up "looking like s**t".  I have several tattoos so I can respect an expert opinion however, the manner in which it was relayed was completely unnecessary and a turnoff.  I ended up walking out.Funny thing is I went to another place nearby and was told the same thing but he said it with a smile, zero attitude and offered alternate ways to get the look I was going for.  The nice guy won my business. Came to your shop today because it was highly recommended for custom work. I explained to the "receptionist" for a lack of better term, that both myself and my husband were there for very special tattoos. Our daughter was unexpectedly born with Down Syndrome. We wanted custom designed tatts for her and to celebrate World Down Syndrome Awareness day. From the images on your Facebook page, these should have been simple work. Instead, we get criticized for what we want and told it would be "cluttered". She clearly was not the artist nor did she have a clue as to how I wanted it because she acted like she cared less. I had a wonderful experience here. I've gotten two tattoos and two piercings at this place. The people who work here are very nice and make the whole time you're there comfortable and enjoyable. I love the work I've gotten done here and they even did a free touch up when I went for my second tattoo. I really love the piercer she is knowledgeable and gives great advice on how to clear and care for your piercing. She also supplies sea salt and soap for free. Was searching around for a place that did great color and overall good design. In April, Paul drew up the perfect dragon koi, it was even better than the image I had in my head. He completed the outline and background in one session and it was an overall great experience. Just yesterday we finished the half sleeve and I couldn't be more happy with the tattoo I was given. I decided that I was going to get an intimate body piercing over the weekend that I put off for years. Several reasons prolonged my decision but I had the courage and the time, and as a birthday gift to myself I decided to just go for it. With that being said, choosing the correct professional was not a short or easy process. I did call around and look online to find the right person. Being that I live in NJ but work in NYC I have many options as to where I can go. When I called the shop Carrie answered and said that the shop doesn't discus prices over the phone. At first I was a bit put off because that means I have to travel all the way there first before I can make a financial decision. When I gave it some thought I realized that truly is for my own best interest. The price could be right and I travel to the shop and then everything else there is wrong! That surely was NOT the case. Carrie was professional and friendly and made the experience very comforting. She was direct in her approach but sensitive to my nervousness. The shop and facilities are clean and her tools all sterilized as I saw them freshly out of the packaging. Her method was fast and easy... I won't say painless as any piercing has some kick to it but being that I have other piercings I can certainly say she minimized the pain as best as possible. She stands by her work and had an open door policy where she assured me if I have any questions/concerns to come right back. All the cleaning products were included and there was no up charge  for that or the jewelry used. I am EXTREMELY satisfied with the work and I'm so glad I found this gem of a location. I absolutely LOVE it here!!! I've been to other tattoo spots before, but once a friend of mine introduced me to physical I knew I wasn't going anywhere else!!! I feel like im cheating if i do!!! Very professional and very clean. Reasonable pricing too!!! They give you the best advice to suit your life when making decisions with piercings or tattoos instead of you making rash decisions...In other words they look out for you which is, I think, amazing!!! I had an issue with one of my piercings I had gotten done there recently(one of the balls from my earring had fallen off and i was unable to put it back on myself)and I went back yesterday and Carrie was nothing but super friendly and helped me resolve my issue with no problems whatsoever! So I have been here a few times.I have been both pierced and tattooed here. Let me start by saying junior was amazing and hella nice to me. I love my tatt by him and had intentions of going back to him for cover ups and a half sleeve. But after last night i will never step foot in that place again. I came in to inquire about a cleansing solution for my daughters piercing and upon asking, the very rude and arrogant lady behind the counter asked me what the piercer had suggested from the original place I got my daughters septum pierced. So I told her then proceeded to tell her I still wanted more and her ever so lovely, arrogant, disgusting answer was "well if you didn't trust me enough to Pierce your daughter then why would you trust me enough to sell you my care products."  Well Mrs I'm not nice to my customers, I did in fact come to you previously with my other daughter and you gladly turned me away due to her age, I still came back to attempt to give you a little business and you again turned me away. Please note your arrogant nasty stuck up attitude has now lost a customer and hopefully some more. Either way if I did not get pierced there or have my child done their, I was still coming to your place of business to purchase an item from you, a customer is a customer and it shouldn't matter where they or their children where pierced. That is completely disturbing that you would talk to or treat your potential or returning customers this way. PS junior I'm sorry you are losing out on a customer but her personable skills suck big time. Amazing place! The staff isn't friendly, but they are very competent in what they do and they know what they are doing. I got my nose pierced here. After two weeks while I was cleaning my piercing it came out, and since it's a nose screw it was IMPOSSIBLE of putting it back in, it wouldn't go through the hole! I got desperate and didn't want to pay for a repierce. Surprisingly when I got there I explained what happened to the guy that works there (I didn't ask his name!) and he quickly guided me to the room and repierced my nose for me, since the inside healed, and didn't charge me at all! Carlos is my new favorite at Physical Graffiti. I came in to get prices initially and one of the small tattoo and he said he could do it right away would take him 10 minutes. He was very knowledgeable he made sure that my tattoo which stand out, he could have let me just have the color that I wanted and been disappointed later on down the line. My artist is Thor and he has done 6 tattoos for me so far. 5 times he took me in right a way as a walk in but I made an appointment the last time. He worked well with me and gave me suggestions on the ink I was getting. I am always made very comfortable in the tattooing process and Thor is so gentle with his technique. I am always greeted with a hug hello and another when leaving. Thor always leave the option of coming back in 2-3 weeks if I would like a change or touch up. Went there on a walk in. The place is pretty big and clean. You'll see plenty examples of their work in binders and around the shop. Joey did my four line script tattoo in a timely, efficient manner.
