I went here to get a half sleeve. The first session, I walk in and the picture I left behind about 3 weeks prior was nowhere to be found. After looking for an hour and blaming other people for touching things, it was finally found. Another hour later, it was drawn up. My appointment time was at 12 and didn't start until 2 because of the lack of organization. I go back for my second session and the tattoo artist, who I won't throw under the bus, was late by 15 to 20 mins! Not a place I will recommend to anyone due to these issues. So I go into the shop to see if this could be a potential place for piercings. I ask the owner, John McDermott, about the quality of the jewelry and whether it is externally or internally threaded. I got a condescending remark from John stating that I googled my information on jewelry quality and he proceeded to ask what I do for a living. I then insisted I was being respectful and just giving a suggestion to order internally threaded jewelry. He continued on telling me I didn't have any knowledge of piercings. If you want to deal with disrespectful and misinformed piercers then this is the place to go. It's your body and you only get one. Please don't let him ruin it. - Shelby Read Less

My friend got a tattoo there and when she got home I pointed out that the tattoo artist had painted a penis in the butterfly. Very unprofessional if they think that was funny. She paid a lot of money for that piece and I told her to take pictures and take him to court. Now she has to pay another tattoo artist to cover up the disgusting thing this man tried to hide in her tattoo. I heard he has done that to other girls too. And the way they were talking about their customers was so disrespectful especially about the women. The owners father was there and got fresh with my god daughter who is 14, I was shocked.  I am still trying to convince her to press charges. Paying more money at a reputable tattoo shop to get this tattoo covered (and we all know hiding a penis in a tattoo is often done by douchebag artists ) after she payed so much there is a travesty. Got a horrible foot infection from this place. The tattoo looks like a blob now. Now I have to get it lazered. The guy that tattooed me smelled like he hadn't showered in days. He kept sneezing into his arms during the tattoo. I was naïve to not run out! Read Less

Two of my tattoos and three of my piercings were done at Seven Gates Tattoo. I travel from NY (Orange County and Brooklyn) to get work done by Henri Diaz. Henri is an incredible artist, I'd describe his work to be a fusion of Oriental, traditional and almost a watercolor aesthetic. I've never been worked on by Joe Budz, the owner, but I've seen his work and its very well done. The shop itself is clean and organized and completely welcoming. I highly recommend Seven Gates to anyone who wants a quality tattoo or piercing. Read Less
