My post is pretty late but I wanted to wait until my tattoo was fully healed. My tattoo turned out great! Dahvees took care to make sure my tattoo was sketched on my arm properly. He was very hygienic throughout the process and made sure to let my arm rest some because I swell easily. I would definitely go and get my next tattoo from this shop. Read Less

I just recently went to Heart in Mind Tattoo for the first time, but for my third tattoo. I have to say that it was a great experience. From my consultation over the phone and my tattooing experience, it was awesome. Marc was so friendly over the phone and he made me feel comfortable in person. He took his time with my tattoo and he discussed it well with me before he began tattooing. He definitely gave me a good price as well. The rest of the staff was also very friendly. My friend came along with me and she loved the work that Marc did on me and she is returning to do her next tattoo. I definitely will be returning for another tattoo, as well as a piercing I have in mind. I went in for an impromptu tattoo on a Sunday and Marc did such an impeccable job, I likely won't go anywhere else ever again. I did not get a traditional or stenciled tattoo, but I came in with a concept and Marc brought that to life in the best way. The tattoo was done quickly, but not rushed. Based on the reviews, I bet these guys are fine tattoo artists. The problem is that I wouldn't know, because I couldn't actually get them to do any work. Two weeks ago, I sent them a PM saying asking if they could look at some source material for a piece I want to get done and get back to me. They didn't response, which is fine, not every business pays attention to Messenger, whatever. On Saturday, I called them up, spoke to Dahvees, asking to make an appointment for Sunday.... He said they can do it, but they take a $50 deposit for appointments -- which I did not object to and would have paid -- so he recommended I just call back on Sunday when the shop opens and set up a time, since they had plenty of availability on Sunday. He didn't offer to book me an actual appointment. On Sunday, I called right at noon when they opened, spoke to Marc. Marc said he had a cancellation for the day, so there were open spots, I should email source images and we'd discuss. I did that, Marc called me back a bit later, put me on the phone with Dahvees, who would actually be doing the work. He said he was booked after 5:00, but if I could come in at 2:00, we'd do my tattoo. I showed up to the shop at 1:45, only for Marc and Dahvees to tell me they were both booked up with walk ins, no availability for the rest of the day, but we could book for another day. I explained that I called the day before and tried to book ahead, but was told to just call back the next day. Marc said he remembered that, and that I must have spoken to him, because he was the only one there on Saturday -- false, I 100% spoke to Dahvees. Dahvees said he "wasn't sure you were going to come," and now he had a walk in he was going to be working with. I had JUST spoken to him an hour before, not sure why on Earth he would think I wasn't going to show up. Anyway, I didn't have them tattoo me, and I won't, because I tried 5 times to get an appointment booked, and they didn't seem to want to actually do that. My advice would be to walk in, because even though their Facebook profile says they "work mostly appointment based," I could not actually book an appointment and calling ahead got me nowhere, someone else was able to just walk in ahead of me. Dahvees Is funny, smart, graphic designer turned ink artist and really understands and knows his craft. First time at Heart and Mind and after a lot of research I really did make the right choice. Needed a cover up and someone who could work with my quirks and at my pace and he scores well above the rest. My dad and I had come in late to see if Dahvees could squeeze both of us in for small tattoos about an hour before they closed. He was with a client at the moment but told us he could tattoo us after they closed, which was so nice of him. This was my first tattoo and I was in a different state so I wanted it to be memorable. He did mine and then my dads and they both turned out amazing! Dahvees not only made me feel very calm during the tattooing but he also explained very carefully about the after care and how to help it heal properly. This is the 2nd Tattoo that, Marc has done for me... The 1st was a cover up of a name. Marc Rubiano, is a very talented, imaginative, and a greatly skilled Artist in all realms. He nailed and executed both my cover up and a memorial tattoo for My Husband that our oldest daughter and I got done yesterday (5/20/17). I highly recommend him. Marc did my first tattoo a little over a month ago. He is incredibly knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable during the entire process. He collaborates with you to get you exactly the piece you want. My piece is fully healed and I can not wait to return for more. Very happy I found Heart in mind. Ps.
