Which I was told would fade a little but over time I noticed blank spots in my art work but I do work in the health care field and wash my hands frequently so understandable, what I do like is he is willing to touch up our tattoos at no cost to us so hopefully it goes well. Had an appointment scheduled for over 2 weeks, an hour and a half before the appointment they called saying there was a family emergency and it would have to be rescheduled... Which is acceptable. got a sternum piece done yesterday by the amazing and talented Evan! i couldn't have picked a better artist to create this piece for me. i was pretty nervous going into it but once i saw the design he laid out i was ecstatic and just wanted it on my body already! he made me feel so comfortable and his attention to detail is incredible. he was so nice and easy to talk to through the process and i really appreciated all of the work he put into my tattoo! the shop was so clean and beautiful with a sort of calming vibe. the staff were really friendly and i would definitely recommend this place and Evan as an artist to anyone in the area. only place to go. ive been tattooed by Everett and Don a few times. pierced by Mike once when he was bouncing between FP and evolvink. ive gone in to buy jewelry and have justin change piercings as well. These guys are all friggin awesome and amazing artists. so friendly and dont want to charge you an arm and leg even though they totally could for the quality of work they put out. a special shout to Don, this guy is just the greatest and its always such a pleasure to be tattooed by him. for a 7 foot tall biker looking dude he is an absolute sweetheart always such great conversation and really a great tattooer. love love love this place and i always spread the word! Having been born in NJ, but raised in a military family, I came to visit family that I haven't seen in 25 yrs. Only being here for a week, I decided that I wanted to get a tattoo done as a way to keep a part of NJ with me forever. When I called and spoke to Ana, she asked what I was looking to have done, as they were booked solid for my entire vacation. I described the situation and that I was looking for something simple. Ana said if I wanted, she would stay after closing time and help me out. Now while I didn't get what I had in mind, we came up with a better idea and she knocked it out of the park. This is one of the best tattoo and piercing places I have ever been to, and I have been to about 10 different places. My boyfriend went for a tattoo with Everett, who is an incredible artist. He made some minor mistakes to the outline, which I pointed out, he amended them and admitted that he made the errors, which I thought was so responsible and unnecessary, made me really trust him as an artist. While my boyfriend got his tattoo, I got an ear piercing and some jewelry changed on other, older piercings. Such a pleasant experience. The guy who did that (can't remember his name) was kind, funny and seemed very skilled and experienced. Only issue was one earring fell out 2 days later. I have been getting services done at First Place since they were located in their old location above the Warren Reporter. I have been a customer for nearly 15 years now, since I got my first piercing when I was 16. Since then I have gotten 3 tattoos there and a few piercings.  They are always accommodating with appointment times and explain everything you need to know to take care of your new tattoo/piercing. In my opinion they aren't always super friendly, but I am also by no means a ¨regular¨. I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else, and recommend this shop to everyone considering getting body art done. Read Less

I recently got my first tattoo here and was really excited about it. I made the appointment 3 weeks prior and came in with a VERY VERY complicated design but wanted it pretty small. Although the design wasn't feasible to do that size, I worked with one of the tattoo artists, Evan Jones, who is incredibly talented and helped me rework my design so that I still loved it and it still had the same feel. When I came in 3 weeks later, he had worked on the design even more, making it better than I could've ever imagined. He is a genuinely nice guy and helped me through the process and created a perfect tiger tattoo with shading beyond compare and that stares straight through your soul. The place itself is so clean and professional, actually if you search it in google maps there is a virtual tour of the place. All the people here are so nice and so professional and there's always something to look at and talk to them about. For any tattoo, especially the 1st tattoo, I would highly recommend this place. Get Evan (everybody refers to him as Ev) because he really is amazing and keeps you calm during the whole process, and makes sure that your tat is really a timeless piece and not just a plain tattoo. First Place is a really neat little parlor, and very professionally operated. I have been pierced here, and watched tattoos done here before. The staff is very knowledgable, friendly, and patient with every client. The facility is VERY clean, warm, and comfortable. The only problem I have with First Place is that they are ALWAYS crowded. This place looks great and very professional inside and out. I got my nose and helix piercing and both were done terribly. Nose ring fell out and helix was done in the wrong spot with the wrong sized ring. Thought I'd give them one more chance and got a small wrist tattoo.
