This was one the best experiences of my life. Ernie is the best beyond belief. I came after dinner time around 7 pm, so the place was kind of empty, and immediately Ernie asked me what I wanted. I knew I wanted a rook piercing, but I was still a little hesitant because it's my first cartilage piercing. I walked into the room after he did really quick prep of the room and he immediately started reassuring me by showing my his tools and procedure. When it came to the piercing, I'm gonna be honest: I didn't even know it happened. He was counting down and he told me it was going to happen, but I thought he was pranking me because all I felt was something reminiscent to a really pointy finger poking my ear. I had no idea I had a needle through until I looked at my mom's facial expression. And just like that, it was done.I'll definitely be coming back here. Ernie definitely knows what he's doing and I could not have imagined a better experience. It was fast, easy, painless, and really rewarding. The only thing is that he didn't give too much specific information on aftercare, but that wasn't a big deal cause I kind of know what I was suppose to do and if you do your research, the internet basically reiterates what he said. Went in today to have an earring changed out in my rook (had it pierced out of town), I have super sensitive skin and after two metals I decided to bring in a gold earring to have put in. Tyler was dope! So nice and knowledgeable, even when my ear was being rude and did not want to cooperate. My man and I came here to get our tattoos together the second time, but I ended up getting my tongue pierced by Ernie, who was so knowledgeable and explained everything so well, not to mention it was quick and painless! My man ended up getting a tattoo to start his shoulder work, but it didnt go as planned and he ended up having pain and discomfort right after he got the tattoo. After a few days passed, the tattoo area was still hurting him and we both felt this was not normal so we came back. When we went back, we spoke with Jason and showed him the inked area, who then told us this did not seem right or healing how it normally should. He definitely had professional expertise and gave us advice on what to put on to alleviate the pain and have it heal correctly. That wasn't the end, Jason helped us and even provided the best customer service by telling us to come back once its healed so he can redo the tattoo over again. We ended up going back tht day to have my mans tattoo redone and ended up getting a second one and I also got one as well to cover up a old tattoo. I'm not from around here so I didn't have many recommendations on where to get a tattoo. The fact that Hudson tattoo co had five stars was very settling. Unfortunately my experience was not. I went in three days prior to the time I wanted a tattoo. I made an appointment for July 5 11:00 AM. Showed up on time. Made a 50 dollar deposit, emailed over pictures to bounce ideas of what I wanted. Also sent description of what I wanted. Even talked to Jason while in the shop and told him what I wanted. Now here comes the kicker got to tattoo shop at 11 no jason. 11:30 still no jason. At this time I was still planning on getting a tattoo. Then 11:45 rolls around finally he shows up. I'd thought he'd say hey sorry I was late let's get started.  Or anything other then have a cocky attitude as soon as he got in. Oh no he sits down says oh I'm a little late like we were just supposed to be thankful he showed up at all. Then when he actually looks at us for the first time since he walked in he can see we were disappointed and gave us some "the dog ate my homework excuse" Originally I was getting a tattoo to honor my dog who passed away (mans bestfriend). My friend a tattoo to honor his dad who passed away. Now me I have patience I want someone who has respect for me and themselves to do a tattoo that has a lot of meaning. My friend he waited along time to get his  and even though he didn't want to use Jason anymore we are in a business where we have little to no time to do anything. So although he thought the situation was very unprofessional he decided to proceed. Me at this point said can we just put my 50 dollar deposit on his tattoo that way it didn't go to waste and then they wouldn't have to give it back either. He said he would have to call his boss which I understood they have a sign that says no refunds but under the circumstances I thought his boss would understand. He never called and when I got up to leave he says to my friend your total will be 200 I still have to call my boss about that and looks at me . He called me a that . Now at this point it's such an unprofessional environment I'm over it I just leave. I have no idea if he ever called. I don't really care anymore about the 50 bucks. Don't go to jason. Highly recommended! I stopped here on a whim with some friends to get my nose pierced and was immediately impressed with the overall aesthetic. It was Friday the 13th and very busy since they have a $13 tattoo special, and Ernie did a great job taking care of everyone in a timely and friendly manner. He also gave me great advice on piercings and how to care for them. The tattoo artists were all really personable. Got my first tattoo here roughly 2 months ago and i couldn't be happier with the results. The owner and the artist were extremely polite and caring to their multitude of customers and myself. They both knew what to do and say to put me at ease with the process and they genuinely love what they do. I just got a dermal removed and snake bites. Honestly the guy was cool and he only took like five minutes and he's good at what he does. The place was laid back. I don't have any huge complaints, except the pricing. I called before hand because I live in Hoboken and didn't want to waste a trip up if it was too expensive. The last place quoted 60 which I thought was a little high seeing I only paid 40 for each of my dermals to be put in. This place estimated 20 base if I didn't need a cut and it could just be removed. Sounded great. I didn't need the extra cut but I was still charged 100 and that price was given after the work was done😔. I was told this was a discount because usually they charge more. I was not prepared to pay that much, at all. I probably would have waited, been better prepared or just let it reject itself. If it wasn't for the huge price increase or just a better heads up before the procedure, I'd probably be a returning customer because I have a lot of other things I wanted done but i wouldn't want to be in that position again. I would give 4/5 for everything but the pricing situation was a complete turn off. Read Less

I came here due to great reviews about Ernie's piercing. Came all the way from west orange. I got my helix and belly done. I will say everything people say about Ernie being funny, great, knowledgeable and clean is true. However I did have a bad experience when it came to my belly piercing. I did ask him if he thought it would be ok for me to get belly pierce due to being overweight. He said there was no problem that I was just fine. After getting lightheaded I went home and noticed 2 things 1 is he bottom of the belly ring was actually inside my belly button and 2 it kept doing this weird thing where it kept leading towards the right side. I called him and he told me to come in... drove half an hour to him he twisted it and forced it straight. Then in reference to the bottom of the he kinda pulled it out and it hurt like hell he told me not to worry give it 3 weeks and the skin around it will tighten it so I wouldn't have the problem of the disappearing ring into navel. Went to him again he switched the bar to a longer one and he noticed a weird bump on the bottom hole and told me to go to target to get tea tree oil. At this point honestly I was just frustrated. Piercing didn't look anything like I had hope. I've seen much bigger girls with this piercing and they didn't have this issue; so I went to 2 different piercers closer to me 1 told me I was two fat for this piercing and the other one told me that it was crooked and I should take it off immediately so it won't scar Incase i wanted to get it done again. I listen to this guy advice and he was right I went to him and he pierce it and it's straight and I don't have any of the issues I mentioned before. Just sucks that I had to waste so much gas and pay for piercing twice.Like I mentioned before Ernie also did my helix and that turned out just fine . He's a really nice and funny guy which is honestly why I didn't go crazy on him at the shop... it's just disheartening because I'm left with a dark spot from his piercing making the new piercing look a little weird; and again I had to pay someone else to do it...ughhh money down the drain Read Less

I went to this place for my first tattoo and I was told it would be $80. The next day I went to get it done and was charged $150. This place over charged me for a small tattoo. I contacted who I thought was the owner and he didn’t do anything. I spent $150for a music pulse on my wrist and $150 for my mom’s music pulse. Including tip, I spent $300. However, the tattoos did come out good. Unfortunately, my mom’s tattoo and my tattoo are slightly positioned differently. My dad got all his tattoos here, so I knew I wanted to go here for my nose piercing. When I got there the piercer (Ernie) was not there. I waited for him to get there cause I knew it would be worth it. And I am so happy I did. He was great, and did an amazing job. My piercing barely hurt and it is healing great. Came in two weeks ago for a nose piercing, was super nervous and was lucky to have Ernie do the job. Aside from the shop being super chill and clean ( which I noticed and appreciated), the professionalism is definitely deserving of 5 stars. I called to see if this place welcomed walk-ins and they did. The plan was to get a spontaneous matching tattoo with my sister..... We walked in and were asked if we were okay getting tattood by someone who did not speak any English. Luckily, we spoke the same language and were able to communicate what we wanted to the tattoo artist. He was obliviously a new employee and as the session progressed, it was obvious he was new to tattooing IN GENERAL. During the session the artist kept verbally doubting himself, which made my sister and I nervous. We did not want to cut the session short so we took the risk and let him finish. Now that I am fully healed, it is obvious this man had no idea what he was doing. The letters look smudged and ultimately, difficult to read. Just got my nose pierced here yesterday and it was a great experience. Ernie was very nice,  informative and professional. You can tell he knows his stuff. It wasnt just about getting me in and out. He gave me suggestions and made me very comfortable. The good thing about this place is that they tell you that they will take care of you even after your service. I came in w an infected nose piercing from a different piercer looking for a ring in the hopes that it would make the site easier to treat/clean than with my current stud (too low). Ernie saw the situation and suggested a much longer stud instead so that there would be no possibility for migration, along w making it easier to clean. He gave me all sorts of information, for which I'm super grateful. Only one day later and the infection is already looking better thanks to the new stud! I'll admit I was wary at first (I've known my share of men who insist they know EVERYTHING only to be talking out of their asses) but Ernie was ~actually knowledgeable~. The piercer, Ernest, was very professional and informative. He also has a lot of patience, since I was squirming at the sight of the needle. He explained everything that he was doing during the procedure. He sanitized the entire room before I entered, he wore gloves, he cleaned the area that was going to get pierced and opened a new needle in front of me. I was overall very pleased with my experience, that I got five other piercings done from him. He's the only piercer that I trust and keep coming back to. Recently got some dotwork done by Kevin. It was a great experience. The shop is filled with cool people, and the shop itself looks great! The walls are covered with art by, what I assume, the artists in the shop. When it was time to start the work, Kevin knew exactly what I wanted and even suggested making it bigger, which turned out to be a great idea.
