My friend is related to the owner so we got out tattoos for the house minimum by Danny. I got two and was considering going back for a third but as mine healed I notice the lines were not straight and the color looked like a big blotch. I should have waited to go to my regular tattoo artist who charges more who I trust to do a good job. Would not recommend. They are nice though. Read Less

Both my son and daughter had there first tattoo done there as there birthday gifts from me. We could not be happier. Joey did my sons, Belle my daughters. Amazing artist! got a tattoo a few weeks ago...I went with a picture and told that can be done...well it can't be done...somewhat similar but not the one i wanted and to top it off it's filled with mistakes...one of biggest is the horizontal on the cross one side is longer then other...when i went back Dan agreed that there were mistakes...Dan said let it heal for a couple of weeks and come back i will put some lines here and some lines there and give the illusion that everything is even...I... didn't pay 450.00 dollars plus tip to put lines here and there to give the illusion of a good tattoo when it's not a good tattoo...I sent a couple of Emails to Bella Arte but no one has got back to me....I asked for Ben or Nico but the girl sain they are booked for months....I wish i waited for those months for one of them...what a bad experience...what steps do i take next See More Read Less

Not only did I leave there with one kick-ass tattoo from Nico (who is phenomenal btw) but my husband just booked his appointment with him as well. The staff there is amazing...they make you feel so welcomed and comfortable. I honestly can say Nico Perez is straight up one of the greatest artists I've ever seen. Had an industrial bar placed and had to have it removed by a different shop and person because the piercing was so misplaced that was about to rip the top of my ear. Was able to salvage the bottom portion but when you do a piercing you should actually know where to place the jewelry and how to pierce it before you do so. Not happy with these results at all. I got my first tattoo at a very recommended place in Montclair, and was so unhappy. When I told the artist what I wanted before the tattoo and after it was finished he just didn't get it. I was recommended by a friend to see Dan at Bella Arte. Immediately he got what I wanted. He fixed the tattoo to be exactly what I originally intended. FYI first tattoo took 10 mins 'fixing' it took 35 and it's perfect. Hugely recommend Dan! Read Less

For the first time, I decided to ignore fellow Yelp reviews. My friend got a tattoo with Danny here last month and loved it, so I trusted her and came with her here today.Went in and was comforted by the clean and neat decor. Front desk women was extremely nice and gave me all the information I needed. I showed the artist I was given (Ben) a printout of what I wanted, and he sketched it perfectly for me (even better than I thought). It was small and for my wrist, but still!! He suggested the middle, but when I asked for the side he did not make me feel uncomfortable in the least or wrong.I'm a huge baby when it comes to being hurt, but this experience was nothing of the sort!! I was referred to Nico Perez @ Bella Arte Tattoo by an aquiantance for a cover up tattoo I was considering,...  She gave me his cell number, where I sent him a text & he then told me to "come to the shop anytime to meet him and discuss details."  My sister accompanied me to my 1st visit on 8/08/14, where we waited for over 1hr just to meet him & he only gave me 5mins of his time.  I told him what I wanted & he told me "to sketch/ draw something custom, it's a $100 deposit plus tax" & I booked my appt for my 1week vacation from work, Tuesday 9/23/14. I paid $107.00 on 8/8/14 @ 6:22pm in cash, I have the receipt.  We verbally agreed that he would contact me when he had a sketch & price estimate ready that I could approve before the scheduled appointment. A few days before the appt, I hadn't heard anything from him or the shop, so I contacted him via cell/ text but no response.  I called & left a message at the shop with "Cathy" who then informed me that my appt was booked "for his day off," so they rescheduled it for Saturday 9/27/14, which I was unpleased with but accepted anyway. She assured me that she would contact him & he would get back to me early in the week of the appt.  On Friday 9/26/14, I still hadn't heard anything back from Nico or the shop, and I was getting angry.  I understand he's in demand with many conventions & the shop has 'status' b/c of their tv show, but business is business & all I know is that I paid a cash deposit for a sketch & price estimate that I never saw or received!!! I called the shop, spoke with "Jenna" who claims she contacted "Dana & Joe" (owners) & after "apologizing for all the inconvenience, Joe said I'm right & deserve to see a sketch, guaranteed Nico would text me a pic of the sketch."  Well,... I anxiously waited all day Friday & guess what,...??? NO TEXT, SKETCH, PIC or PRICE ESTIMATE,...!!!  It feels like I'm being stood up time after time after time,... Super aggravating & infuriating,...! After carefully studying the receipt & invoice, I learned that their "Deposit Policy" states: "All deposits are non-refundable & non-transferrable."  Even worse, since I paid cash, I'm really screwed.  By the time Saturday 9/27/14 1pm came, I was already so beyond words with this place that I decided to stand them up,...  Figured I'm already out of the money so why not,...? They did it to me repeatedly,...!  Two wrongs dont make a right, but this felt appropriate,...  I received 2 calls that day, 1 from Nico & 1 from the shop.  I didn't return their calls/ voice messages.  I gave this shop 1 star simply because of the décor & they provide waiting customers with refreshments.  Other then that, the shop which is 'so reputable' seems to be completely mismanaged and poorly run.  I have 7 tattoos & my previous artist ALWAYS showed me a sketch prior to getting it done.  My previous artist moved to Las Vegas which is the only reason I even considered coming here, by recommendation. I'm beyond irate that I'm out of the cash & can't even fathom the poor customer service, lack of management, ill scheduling conflicts, etc. I WANT MY $$$ BACK!!! Read Less
