I have never felt the need to go out of my way to write a bad review until now...Two weeks ago I left a deposit and made an appointment to get tatted. I had asked to please have pictures sent to me of the drawling so I can see what I like and don’t like before hand. Two weeks went by... after calling multiple times I still get nothing. I show up the day of my appointment (first appointment of the day) and my artist is tattooing somebody else. She told me previously that she d...oes not double book so I was confused. After waiting 30 minutes and not being helped.. she gets done and they start helping WALK INS.. they begin to tell me that I have to re schedule because I picked a terrible day to come in because they are always busy on sundays and are “short staffed” remind you I made an appointment TWO weeks prior. She never even drew up my tattoo lol and then goes and prints out the shittiest pictures from google that looks like a second grader drew them. I asked for my deposit back and she begins to make all these dumb excuses like “she doesn’t send pictures” and that she is “busy” and had the nastiest face expression. She was extremely unprofessional and rude. Her coworker gave me more information and did way more to help the situation then she did. Thanks to her I will no longer be going there ever. I’ve gotten four of my tattoos there from Molly who is amazing. But will never return. If anyone is interested this artist was Sarah .. don’t even bother booking with her it’s a waste of time and she seems like she doesn’t even know what she’s talking about .. can only imagine how she tattoos. I do not know how they are still in business. Most of the employees come off as unprofessional. I have had about 4 piercings done here and two they have had to repierce or change the jewelry too at a later date because they didn't have the correct jewelry at the onset of piercing. I went here to get my lip pierced without hearing of them before but went for the best priced place I could find anywhere and I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. They were friendly and did a great job, so I went back and got a tattoo and I was even happier with the costumer service and tattoo. Literally worst experience ever. If I could give no stars I would. I came in here a couple months ago for my first tattoo ever. I told the lady I wanted a palm tree. She had a real sarcastic attitude. All the workers in there seem to just be in shitty moods. She kept printing out different palm trees. We agreed on one. She was not being sensitive to the fact that this was my first tattoo. She laid the stencil on my skin and I noticed it was way too shaded in. And I specifically told her I did not want it shade it in. Her response was " of course I'm not gonna shade it in silly " when it was finished it was the worst thing I have ever seen. I cried. Worst tattoo ever. It's huge. Black. And ugly. Thankfully I got it fixed. But I'm stuck with it. And I want it removed. 90$ for this shit. And I still tipped. DO NOT COME HERE. PLACE SUCKS. Me and my girlfriend were looking for a place so I could get my first tattoo, not from NJ but girlfriend is and looked up tattoo parlors in her area, and tattoo 46 showed up with good ratings. came up with the initial idea while talking to Sara, put down my deposit and said I would be back in a few weeks or months once the design was done and ready.. after I left nothing was done, no further design was shared ever and asked for my deposit back cause nothing at all was done and got told it's nonrefundable, which I understand in most cases, but not ok with if nothing at all got done after I left. recently got my nipples pierced here and Molly was so comforting! I was extremely nervous walking in but was able to get both of them done very quickly. I was helped as soon as I walked in the door and Molly gave me helpful tips and advice for aftercare. i was there for maybe a total of 30 minutes most of it filling out the paperwork. the price of 65 for both piercings was definitely something in my price range. The employees were very rude, impatient & unprofessional. I have nothing but good things to say about Tattoo 46. The staff are super friendly and you can tell that they really know their stuff. Everything is super sanitary and done by protocol. I've gotten 2 tattoos done there as well as 2 piercings, and have no complaints. The tattoos were both done by Molly, who did a fantastic job. She always takes her time to talk with you and figure out EXACTLY what you want, and it really pays off. The tattooing itself went really quickly both times, and I couldn't be happier. The colors are vibrant (and have stayed as such) and the outlines are super dark and well defined. The piercings both went REALLY fast and relatively pain free. I did have issues with one of them, but that was only because things kept hitting me in the face and knocking it out, which is obviously no fault to the shop. I plan on getting all of my future pieces done here, and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for good, clean work. Read Less

My friend loves getting her piercings here, she talks about Dan very highly.She came with me to get my anti tragus and Sarah pierced me. She did not pierce what I wanted, she dotted it and pierced below the marked dot. I went back the same day and said this is my first piercing I do not like, I have over 16. She said give it some time, once the swelling goes down I will like it and if not she "will remember me" and take it out. I recently went back, about 6 weeks later, wanted the earring changed to hoop. She wouldn't change it and of course she didn't remember me. I just took the piercing out myself, so it was a waste of $30. I've never been unhappy with a piercing and my friend had the exact piercing I wanted and the fact how different it looked really bothered me. I wouldn't go back here, at least to Sarah, maybe I would try Dan but whenever I seem to pop in he is never there or I just don't get his service when I go in. Read Less

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I have had 5 tattoos done here and 2 of them look alright. The other 3 look like shit. 2 done by Molly, both of which look AWFUL, the red in one has fallen out and the line work is jacked up. And the other has faded and looks 20 years old. Sara did the other, it is awful, a simple anchor was too tall a task for her I guess. She blew out the lines and made it too dark. Jim did the other two and they have healed fine, overall, I would say to never get tattooed here. I have been to Tattoo 46 for a cartilage piercing and more recently a few lobe piercings.  Every person I have spoken to on the phone, been greeted by or pierced by has been friendly and professional. My cartilage piercing healed quickly and perfectly - when I had an issue with the earring getting caught on my brush (shudder) they helped me change the jewelry out to something more comfortable that would not interfere with healing.So, when I decided my ears looked a bit empty, I didn't even consider going anywhere else!  Sara helped me out today with 3 lobe piercings - she took her time talking through the placement with me and when I suggested placements that would be problematic she told me exactly WHY it was problematic.  This is the reason that you go to a professional for a piercing, not to a teenager in a mall stand with a piercing gun - Sara made sure that I would be happy with the way my piercings looked and that they would not cause problems for me and that they would look great whether they stayed as is or I added more piercings.  The tattoo/piercing rooms are clean, well lit and comfortable, Sara gave me great advice on aftercare and made sure I had her card in case I had any questions or issues.  Tattoo 46 is a great place to get a piercing - it was recommended to me when I was looking for a place for my cartilage piercing and I heartily recommend Tattoo 46 to anyone looking for a piercing!
