Nice work, but very poor customer service. Last Friday the 13th, I decided to give them a call just out of curiosity if they were doing something special, like discounted flash. I NEVER asked if they were doing $13 tattoos. I know they are an ~upscale~ tattoo shop, but I have been to 2 other ~upscale~ tattoo shops that did fun Friday the 13th flash for $30-$200 per design. When I asked about this, the woman on the phone gave me a rude attitude and said, "uh, no. We don't do that here." She spoke to me like I was a moron. I have 13 tattoos all done by extremely talented artists. I'm not an idiot when it comes to tattoos. I really wanted to get some work done here but after that horrible experience over the phone, I would never give this place my business. Avoid this shop like the plague. Read Less

Can't get any better that Jessica. This was my first time here and had a great experience. I have a few other tattoo's that I got somewhere else.  She is a perfectionist and made sure everything was exactly as I wanted it. The Place is very upscale and spotless and much bigger than any other places I've been to.  They even had a mini frig with water bottles and soda for customers. This makes me so sad that everyone else seems to have had a great experience and mine was far from it... :( I wanted to get a new tat for my b day and have been in there before for some body jewelry and was referred to go here for a tat. I am a local and was around the corner at a bakery, (thank you Closter for all the coffee shops/ bakeries) Walked over when they were supposed to open (grace period of 15) and no one was there went home and called about an 1.5 hours after they listed they would be open. Called talked to the owner, the girl I was recommended to go to was not in yet left my number for her when she got in. Finally got in contact with her, informed her of what I wanted. She first said as an artist she would not do my wanted piece because of placement and she would not want to touch it up repeatedly. (I want a small preferably in white, nude, or light grey finger tat) I have a tat on the bottom of my foot and 5 others and understand about fading a rubbing off, but I really would just prefer that scar look. I then asked if that was just her policy or the shops, she said the shops, so I asked then if she had an artist that she would recommend that she knows would do the tat or even another artist that she could send me in a direction to get this piece done..GOD FORBID I ASKED!!!. So rude, so unprofessional I have never had an experience like this at any tattoo shop. You never know who you are talking to over the phone and there was no reason for the "service" I received, honestly appalled. Read Less

I got my second tattoo over the weekend, and I was very happy that I chose this shop based on the Yelp reviews. I had my first tattoo done years ago at a different shop near my house, but I didn't want to return there. I'm very happy with the overall experience and how my tattoo looks. Damon was super friendly and made sure I was happy with the design and placement, and I felt  very comfortable with him and the shop. Now I kind of regret having my first tattoo done elsewhere because compared to my new tattoo, it looks kind of $hitty. I had a quote done from a book I read to my son, and the font is perfect. I called this place to schedule a tattoo for my sisters, mom and myself. My sister is under 18 but she was going with our mom so I figured it would be fine. The guy on the phone said they don't tattoo minors for many different reasons. That was absolutely fine with me so I said thank you and thought I was going to hang up. But instead the guy decided to lecture me about how my little sister shouldn't be getting a tattoo because when he was 19 he had no idea what he wanted and did it anyway, and that my sister may think she knows what she wants but she really has no idea. It made me soo angry that I actually hung up in the middle of his lecture because my sister wasn't getting a meaningless tattoo. All 4 of us, including my mom, were getting tattoos in honor of her just beating breast cancer. I understand that they want to warn you about minors bodies growing, etc, but to tell me my sister doesn't know what she wants and will probably hate it in a few years when you don't even know her or what she wants is just rude and unnecessary. Not to mention it's her body and she's paying to have it done so she should be able to do what she wants. I got my first tattoo here. I met Scott, the owner, and Damon, the other tattoo artist. First off, they have a sense of professionalism, which is a great trait many seem to lake nowadays. I was also pleasantly surprised by the great work these two do. Everything from the walk in to the tattoo day was nothing but good. Great shop, nice atmosphere, and a comfortable vibe. I had nothing short of an amazing experience at Scott Hill tattoo with Andrew. I was envisioning a floral sternum piece and wanted a second opinion. I looked into a few nearby shops, and none really gave me the satisfaction I was looking for. Then, I had a consultation with Andrew. He gave me his honest, raw input and really helped me decide what I was going to do. I made an appointment that day for the following weekend, only a few days away. When I came in, Andrew had drawn up a beautiful sketch and I was in love with it. Now, I'm left with a tattoo that I'm totally in love with, and I can't imagine having had it done anywhere else. Our first visit for the consultation went well, My daughter and I FaceTimed and talked with Andrew about a matching tattoo. Based on what we wanted he said 200 a piece or cheaper if I would be ok with his wife tattooing my daughter at the same time he did mine. My daughter was coming in from out of town (2000) miles away, so this was very important to us. My wife arrived on the day of the tattoo and brought me shorts and was going to pull cash out of the ATM ( because Andrew ...preferred cash) and Andrew looked at his wife and said well 250 a piece would do. I was a taken back and reminded him of our consultation estimate, Andrew said that it was only an estimate if he was doing both of us which made no sence. WOW! His wife tried to put the deal back together but after about 50 hours of Ink, I'm no rookie, and defiantly don't want a guy who has selective memory with an attitude laying ink on me and or my daughter. I came here quite some time ago for my navel piercing. Scott, the owner, did the piercing and I'm very happy with it. Since the only other piercings I have are on my ears, I was very nervous about this navel piercing. Scott was kind, patient, helpful, and kept me calm throughout the entire process. I've been to Scott Hill twice, but not for tattoos. I do have a tattoo and would have definitely gone here for it had I know about them. I stopped in once when I lost my nose screw and they quickly hooked me up with something perfect. The person who helped me out (maybe Damon..?) had a great personality. I came back after that experience to re-pierce my tragus. I had it done at a piercer in Miami and after 8 months it was unfortunately still bleeding. It wasn't infected, but it wasn't healing either.. I gave up on it and removed it. I waited for a few years then went to Scott Hill to see about a re-pierce. Scott did it himself and it was an easy, comfortable and clean experience. He used a ring as the jewelry instead of the small bar I had been given when I got it pierced in Miami and this helped it heal perfectly, since it allows room for the initial swelling.I would highly recommend this shop for piercings or tattoos! I had a really great experience getting tattooed here. It's very professional and comfortable. All of my previous tattoos were done when I lived in New England, so I had to search for an artist in jersey. The first two shops I contacted were not good at replying to emails, which is always a turn off. I also felt a lack of interest in doing a smaller piece, which is silly because I may very well go back for more work in the future.    Then I remembered this shop very close in Closter, and looked at their website. I was immediately impressed because Scott had written about doing a smaller piece and how those can be some of the most memorable. I also liked the photos of the shop, it looked different then other shops, more upscale, just nicer. I was a little worried at the lack of reviews on here, but took a leap of faith anyway. Everything went great, Scott is really cool and laid back. I liked that there wasn't loud metal music playing and the shop was very clean. The price was fair and I love how my tattoo looks!
