They are VERY unprofessional. I left a money deposit of 53.00 after taxes to receive a computer generated picture via email. Now I would not be upset if I did not have to call just to make sure he received our first email a week after I sent it. He confirmed receiving the email(no response to assure he received it) then requested 150.00\hour . Fast forward to two weeks later to a few days before this HALF SLEEVE piece and we have yet to hear ANYtHING from them. We got a call from the shop to confirm the appointment and we told them," we haven't heard ANYTHING from MATT in two weeks" , that evening we received a computer generated picture from him. absolutely NO effort put into. He quoted us up to up to 1500$ total or $150/hour for atleast 8 hours broken up . We are a married couple ..... this was 2 sleeve prices!!!!! NOT cheap........ we were willing to pay for quality and commitment. Ummm, we left a deposit, I also emailed him what he asked for. Including pictures. I am un sure how they received such good reviews when the actual artist is unprofessional. Am I mad over $53.00? NO! I am MAD because this was a meaningful tattoo my husband and I have talked about for years. I could t be more DiSSatisfied wih such unprofessionalism. Tatoos are permanent and this one was meaningful and we could t even be bothered with a rough sketch. I walked in here on a whim to get my nose pierced. I was immediately greeted by two friendly employees who told, "absolutely!" The entire process from walking in to walking out probably took about 15 minutes. They were extremely friendly, helpful in answering my questions and the shop was beyond clean. They must have changed their gloves about 3 or 4 times while sterilizing, marking the spot and performing the piercing. Their setup was like being in a doctors office- super clean and sterile. Went here last September to get my nose pierced and I had a great experience. Don't remember the name of who did the piercing, but he was very patient with me as I was super nervous to get a needle stuck in the center of my face. He also took the time to make sure I was totally happy with the placement of it before he actually pierced it. Super clean place and a nice atmosphere. Went here with my fiance, brother, and sister while in the area. My brother and sister wanted to get tattoos similar to mine, honoring our brother who passed away. We walked in without an appointment and waited maybe 15 minutes until they called my sister back. I know that places really don't prefer it, but Old Glory let all 4 of us stay together while getting that tattoos. I don't remember the artists' name who took care of them, but he was great. I went in to Old Glory to get my ears pierced and it was an absolutely great experience. The person who pierced my ears I believe was named Johnny, he was super friendly and took the time to make sure that the spots were perfect before piercing, he made me feel comfortable and I really love my new earrings. All the staff was really nice and the shop was really clean, Johnny changed his gloves multiple times during my piercing, between every step, I really appreciated the feeling that everything was nice and clean. I am astounded! I really do not know where to begin this review but I will tell you, as a girl who has her share of ink, I have never seen artwork and customer service like this before. I recently got a hand tattoo from another shop that I hated the moment the stencil was on but I didn't say anything because the artist, unfortunately, was a very difficult person to deal with. I put up with it and him because most of his work on me was so beautiful. Anyway, I was in a store in Asbury telling someone about my dislike of the recent tattoo and two of the artists from 'Old Glory' were in the shop!!! They complimented the work and told me to try to get used to it because it is on my hand. A few minutes later, they handed me their card. I called and was greeted by Bonnie who is the sweetest gal ever and she told me to come in for a consultation with Chris, the owner, who mostly does cover ups. The consultation was really unbelievable-I felt so comfortable and relieved that this tattoo would be properly covered. Chris was booked for a month or so and I was not happy about that but now I know the reason for it. I made the appointment and then I called one day when I saw Chris had a cancellation on facebook. I called again the same day and he explained he thought it was too soon to do the cover up because my tattoo was still in the healing process. But, he moved my appointment up A MONTH because of how much I hated the existing tattoo-UNBELIEVABLE!He even offered to come in on his day off for me. During the consultation, I explained my style but I didn't have to say that much and Chris came up with such an incredible sketch that he emailled me the night before. I asked for nothing to be changed. I have had the tattoo for about 2 weeks and I have given out 5 of his business cards. People are amazed at this work and no one can tell it was a cover up. I've gotten four tattoos from this shop's owner, and plan vacations specifically to visit Old Glory in Asbury! I love the art I've gotten from him (and the work I've seen from the other artists is similarly top notch). This shop is highly professional (and a really cool space). The experience of getting tattooed there is always a pleasure. Chris (and every artist at the shop) takes time to really listen to what I want and provide great artistic input. The actual tattoo experience is always a pleasure. The people that work there are friendly and respectful. It's a clean, well-managed shop, staffed by real artists who take great pride in their work. In all my visits to the shop, I've seen them develop work for tons of people: walk-ins, appointments, whatever. They've been respectful, thoughtful, and top-notch every time. It's important to remember: artists generally need some time to produce really stellar work! It's usually wise to make an appointment and do some consulting, if you want a really terrific tattoo. (Though one of my favorite pieces from the owner was fairly spontaneous; they do those, too!) There are tattoo shops everywhere, but it's not every day that you find a shop where you will find it all. Old glory offers artists who will create unique and beautiful art, a clean and comfortable atmosphere, and a location in the only city in New Jersey that has a rock show every night. Did I mention it is only blocks from the beach and iconic Asbury Park Boardwalk? I have already gotten three beautiful pieces of art from Chris, the owner, and I am already booked for my next one this fall. For my first tattoo I walked in off the street and I was treated with the utmost respect and booked an appointment right then and there because I was made to feel comfortable and confident that I would be happy with my tattoo. These guys are professional, talented, and really take the time to be sure that every piece of art is well thought out and done exactly as the customer imagined, if not better. They are by the book and use top of the line ink and equipment in a sterile, comfortable environment. My sister and I got tattoos at Old Glory Tattoo Co this past weekend and we both had a great experience. The shop was clean and filled with amazing artwork. Our artist, Mike, was very cool and his work was awesome. Some shops or artists will make you feel like you're wasting their time if you're getting something small, but Mike wasn't that way at all. I know he wasn't feeling great that night, but he stayed late so he could work on both of us after his last appointment which we really appreciated. I just got another tattoo from Chris at Old Glory Tattoo. Chris is a great professional. All I had to do was give him an idea of what I wanted and he was able to make a unique tattoo out of it based on my tastes. He was super patient with the fact that I really needed to narrow down my idea and was throwing out a million ideas to him. He had it just about ready to go when I got there and just asked me a few questions before finalizing it.
