I have been to all of the Hobo's locations including the one in Rochester and I have never had any issues with any of the artists or the tattoos received. I think with every experience in life, not just tattoos, you get out of it what you put in to it. You have to expect wait times when getting tattooed especially if the artist is drawing something custom for you. I have been tattooed by the owner as well as Andrew at this location and found this shop to be clean with lots of art (both theirs and from others) to look at while I waited. If you are looking to get a tattoo Rochester NH Hobos shop I would not suggest!! They aren't that friendly, most people make you feel welcomed and give you ideas based on what your looking for and the guys at the shop this particular day seemed like they could care less and very "spaced out". They had some guy who wasn't even an artist pricing the pieces where the own artist didn't even know how much his own work was and had to ask that guy and were very unprofessional. One of the artist was pulling out all his tools out of a back pack! They tell you they accept credit cards and then after everything is done they tell you there is an additional 4% added for credit card use after the fact you asked in the beginning and was not told that till after. I had to ask them to double check the placement because it didn't look straight at first in which he did fix after I said something.  Another girl who got hers done was not was she expected, they don't have a mirror to look at your stencil before tattooing it on.  Hers was too big and the stars were "butchered " and the little stars looked like snow flakes! She is looking into tattoo removal  already :(  They claim the owner is never there and wont provide a number or email to get in contact with the owner.  All the work on the wall isnt their work and didn't have much to really look at of their own. Not to mention I got absolutely no after care instructions!?  I would never go back to this location  even if I was offered free ink. I felt very uncomfortable, bad customer service and bad line work. I have herd good things about Hobos in Portsmouth but good luck to whom ever goes to the Rochester location. Even speaking to an officer after the fact, he said he really wasn't surprised to hear this from that particular shop and he would never go there himself either. Most good tattoo artists are booked out so there is a reason why there are available for walk ins,  Its a hit or miss apparently. Read Less

My husband and I made a trip all the way out to Portsmouth to Hobo's, only to find that they didn't have any openings today. Unwavering in our commitment to getting tattoos **today** we had them call the Rochester location, who ended up having time to take us. We piled back in the car and headed to the newest location of Hobo's. I actually despise the town of Rochester, but was pleased with the multitude of free parking spaces right outside the shop, and the friendly and accommodating tattoo artist who greeted us. Although some more comfortable seating while waiting would have been nice, (the window seats made us feel like we were baking in an oven) we were pleased with the appearance and feel of the shop. It definitely has a similar feel to the shop in Portsmouth, albeit much smaller. I would drive to god-forsaken Rochester just to get another tattoo here, especially from Spencer. He was professional, friendly, and most of all was kick-ass at getting our tattoos exactly right. He even introduced us to some great new music. Will definitely be back. Bonus: prices at Hobo's are beyond reasonable. Read Less
