I got my nose pierced by Stephanie this past weekend and had a great experience. She was super professional and friendly. She made me feel very comfortable. The shop itself has a really cool vibe. Very clean. You can tell that they take a lot of pride in what they do. My two friends ended up each getting a piercing- one got an industrial and the other a tragus. The after care instructions were thorough. It's only been a couple of days but my nose is healing nicely and I have no regrets. I highly recommend this shop (and Stephanie) for piercings. Read Less

Just left my appointment with Josh and I am incredibly happy with my experience! This was my first time at the shop and my first time meeting Josh but the atmosphere and staff were very warm and welcoming. The shop is very cute, and clean nestled on a side street near downtown Portsmouth. I had my tattoo done in a small private room. Stina is absolutely wonderful! I won the Christmas 2015 instagram contest #HanForTheHolidays and part of the prize was a free tattoo ($250 value!) done by Stina herself. Everyone at the shop was so friendly and inviting! Got a beautiful tattoo on my right bicep done by Stina back in December 2015. We had been in contact for a couple months before the appointment, and I had given her an idea of what I wanted. The piece she created for me is stunning. Absolutely a work of art. She is a very kind soul, and very attentive to detail. Stina, James and Steph are great! I've been doing to James prior to the opening their own shop and have continued to go after their move. The shop is always clean and very well kept. The staff is more than friendly and accommodating.  It actually bums me out to see filtered reviews for Grim North. I've had work done by Stina before she and James started Grim North. I wanted a very specific custom tattoo drawn for me (a dragon knitting curled around a ball of yarn with the yarn coming off the ball to spell "Yarned & Dangerous") and she emailed me back, answered all my questions, and set up an appointment.  When I arrived for the appointment, she had a perfect design drawn, particularly after the crappy sketch/photoshop amalgam I had emailed her as my basic idea, and she was really great about discussing color options.  She had done research into how people's hands actually look as they knit so she could figure out how to make a three fingered dragon knit.  I couldn't believe the level of research she had done to make this design work.  I also expected to have to go back for another visit, but she managed to do the outlining and the color in a very short time.  This was my first tattoo, and I am so happy with it.  It's absolutely just what I wanted and it looks fabulous. I highly recommend her!  If I'm ever daring enough to get another one (my finger didn't go back to normal for three days because I bit it so hard trying to distract myself from the pain), I want her to do it no matter what shop she's working for.
