I had a tribute cutout from the San Francisco Journal for a friend that past while we were doing the Mt Tam run on a beautiful sunny summer day. I really needed the tat to be done by a very specific, talented, compassionate, and professional artist. The newspaper cut out traveled with me for over ten years having mwt numerous tatoo artists and visited many shops along the way. Due to a random meeting with an old riding buddy back in Mass I was refered to this tatoo shop nemed... Devotion Ink in Nashua. I was a bit cautious because I am a kid of the era when my boy's and I all, back in the day, ventured up to the infamous 'Tatoo America' for tat's at age 16 back when the just started off of Main St...lol. Anyway, I visited DEVOTION INK and knew I had found my man. Even though they were going through some transitioning we got it done and I could'nt be prouder or more satisfied with the expansive back tatoo I received!! I went to this shop to set up and apt to get a tattoo on March 8th and after getting a quote of $100 I set an apt and left a $20 deposit per there request. I was then told that the artist worked at another shop and may not be able to do my tatt the next day. They said that they would call me that night and if they did not then to be there by 2:30 the next day for my apt. 11am the next day (3 hours before my apt) I get a call saying the artist couldn't find someone to cover his other shift and could not do the tatt today. I was rightly upset and told the employee so. I then made a new apt for the 12th at 5:30pm. I showed up Monday at 5:25 only to be told I had to wait about 30 mins before the artist could start my tatt, I said ok and sat down. 45 mins later he comes out only to tell me it would be another 45 mins at least and another $60. Iritated we agreed to the price hike AND the time. We said we were going to grab a bite to eat and would be back. 3 mins away I got a call from them telling me that the artist did not feel right about moving forward with my tatt and to come back and get my deposit. I was so made I couldn't even go into the shop when we got back. My husband went in and the guy tried to give some crappy reason of I was rude to his employee and that was why he did not want to do my tatt. I also feel that is why he tried to raise the price on me. I then took my money and went down the street to another shop only to get my tattoo right then and there and for the $100 it should have been! The customer service is VERY lacking! They only have 1 artist there and if he does not want to do your tattoo they will call and cancel on you even 2 hours before your apt. They tried to raise the price on me $60 the day of the tattoo AND almost an hour after my apt for my tattoo they did not feel comfortable moving forward with it! He does good work but it is SOOOO not worth it! The whole thing is a marketing scam to get a new clientele base. I.M.H.O. It was VERY UN-Christian like for a Christian Tattoo shop!
