I've never been so disappointed in a tattoo artist in my life. Thirteen tattoos later, and I finally have one I'm having laser removed. Matt was atrocious, unprofessional, and though it's hard to prove intent and personal motivation; I can't help but feel that he intentionally f***** up my tattoo. I had designed a concept to memorialize my time away from my daughter while stationed away with the military that included a drawing she made of us, a military compass, outlined by the state of NH. The template was done correctly and to Matt's credit, he even rearranged where the compass was located so the tattoo flowed better. That was the last good thing he did.Matt started our session by telling me he has no respect for the military and not to expect him to thank me for his service. That's all fine and dandy. I never asked but thanks for telling me anyway. I could give two sh**s about your personal opinion, but by all means please spend the next two hours throwing verbal diarrhea at me. It kind of stands in sharp contrast to the sign at the front desk where it states "we appreciate our first responders and military and offer a discount." My bad at this point for not just getting up and walking out. Matt went on for the next hour or so talking about how 9-11 was an inside job, Sandy Hook shooting was staged and never happened, and that all cops are drug dealers.Personal stuff aside, the tattoo itself is junk. The lines are junk. The lines on the compass...garbage. We never discussed shading the inside of the tattoo. The outline of the state of NH was supposed to be done in just water color style, but instead I get some splash of color. But the best....in the stencil the degrees on the compass are done correctly. The pic is attached. In the actual tattoo Matt adds 365 degrees. That is super cool if I were getting a calendar done, but I'm not. For somebody who knows the inner workings of everything, it seems super odd Matt doesn't know there are only 360 degrees in a circle. Best yet, he does have 360 degrees to the left of 365, but he does the 3 backwards. How? Again, I can't prove intent but I strongly feel this was done as a "F you" to the military.I've seen Matt's work on the Tattoo Angus social media. He is capable of doing good work, just seems like he decided not to for me.I've sent custom work to many artists and it wasn't a good fit for them. I can totally appreciate that. They have a skill and a craft and the work they produce is a reflection of them. Matt should come with an anti-American, anti-first responder, warning label and next time just do the right thing and refuse to do the work.In fairness to the shop, they did offer for me to come in and see what could be done, but I can't reconcile the same shop that screwed up the tat fixing it.
